Excerpts From the Trial: Theresa Lo-Fitz vs. Julian Crane, Part 1
By SIPort and Maggs

Excerpts from Julian's lawyer cross-examining Theresa:

"Is it true Ms. L-F that the last time you were in Bermuda, there was a mix up in hotel rooms and you ended up in the room Mr. Crane usually resides in?"

"Yes."

"And what happened that night?"

"Mr. Crane came into the room dressed as a pirate looking for his umm...friend, Suzzanne."

"Why was he dressed as a pirate?"

"He and Suzzanne were playing some kind of role-play sex game. He had obviously been drinking and was confused. Apparently he likes to do that sort of thing...I've heard lots of stories."

"So...the last time you were in Bermuda, you ran into Mr. Crane, he was drunk and playing a kinky dress-up sex game with a beautiful young woman, is that correct?"

"Yes."

"And you said you've heard stories about Mr. Crane. How would you describe him?"

"Umm…a womanizer? Like he thinks he's Don Juan or something."

"Forgive me, Ms. L-F but I'm a bit confused. Can you explain WHY would you purposely go to Bermuda to seek out Mr. Crane, a man you categorize as a womanizer? Why would you willingly drink champagne with him and accompany him to his room, a place you KNEW he liked to play kinky sex games?"

"Umm..."

"Why couldn't you wait to speak to Mr. Crane when he returned to Harmony?"

"Umm..."

"You bought a new dress when you arrived, didn't you?"

"Yes."

The lawyer shows the actual dress to the jury.

"Why couldn't you have spoken to Mr. Crane in the clothes that you wore on the plane to Bermuda?"

"Umm…"

"Was it because you thought you'd have better success convincing him to say yes to his plan while wearing a sexy dress on what was sure to be a very emotional and vulnerable night in his life??"

"Stop making me sound so bad!"

"Miss L-F, was that the first time that you've ever had champagne?"

"No, I've had champagne several times back in Harmony like at my engagement party and my brother's engagement party."

"Back in the US where the drinking age is 21. How old are you Ms. L-F?"

"18."

"So as an underage drinker in the US, you experienced the effects of alcohol, specifically champagne, is that correct?"

"Darn it! Yes."

"So when Mr. Crane offered you the champagne, you knew how you would feel, how your body would respond?"

"Yes."

"Why did you drink the second glass of champagne, Miss L-F?"

"Mr. Crane offered and I wanted to be social so he would listen to my request."

"Miss L-F, have you ever heard of 'nursing a drink?"

"Yes.

"Then why didn't you nurse the first glass?"

"Umm…"

"Did you tell Mr. Crane that you in fact LIKED the champagne?"

"Darn it! Yes."

*********

Excerpts from Julian being questioned by his own attorney:

"Mr. Crane, why were you in Bermuda?"

"I was getting a divorce from my wife...my wife who lied to me about my son's paternity for 24 years." ((SNIFFLE))

"Did Ms. L-F know why you were there?"

"Yes."

"Why did you think Ms. L-F was there?"

"She said as soon as she heard where I was she had to come and find me. I thought she was romantically interested in me. That is until she callously presented me with her demand."

"What did Ms. L-F ask you to do?"

"She asked me to adopt Ethan. To make him a Crane again. Taking advantage of my fragile emotional state, she said that she knew I loved him and must want him back in my lonely life." ((SNIFFLE)) "I was stunned. I immediately had to soothe my hurt with champagne."

"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, do you see what's going here! Ms. L-F goes to Bermuda specifically to  hunt down Mr. Crane on a night when she knows he will be emotionally vulnerable. She dresses in a sexy dress, does her hair and her makeup because she knew Mr. Crane would be lonely and appreciate the attention of a woman. She played on his sympathies and then has the audacity to ask him to return the Crane name and fortune to Ethan who COINCIDENTALLY Ms. L-F is engaged to marry. Is this an innocent naïve girl or a cold, calculating women with her eye on the Crane name, money and power for herself who used her body to get Mr. Crane to listen to her?!"
