His eyes were filled with love as he played with his children, she could see it each time she looked at him. The way he hugged them, talked to them, Theresa knew that her husband was more than a father he was their children’s hero. In the first year of their marriage Chad had worried about his father, worried that he might turn into the person he had once been and try to take Kendra and Matt. Theresa sighed as she watched Chad splash Kendra with water, now he knew these children were his to raise, his to love.
"Baby you gonna just sit there?" Chad laughed from the pool.
"Can’t I just watch?" Theresa laughed.
Chad looked down at Matt, Jada and Kendra, "Are we gonna let her just sit there?" He smirked.
"Chad." Theresa warned. "Don’t you dare."
"Wanta get her?" He asked Matt easing toward the edge of the pool where Theresa sat.
"Get her daddy, get her!" Matt giggled.
"Come on Mom play with us!" Jada begged.
Chad smiled as he came toward Theresa grabbing her around her waist, he pulled her down in the water.
"Chad! Chad I’m going to hurt you!" She laughed as she came up from the water.
Just as Theresa was about to grab her husband she felt Kendra’s arms wrap around her neck. "Oh no your not." Kendra giggled. "Matt get her."
Giggles escaped the little boy as he splashed Theresa with water, Jada helping him as Chad watched with a smile.
"You’ll pay Crane!" Theresa squealed looking over at Chad.
"Right baby, you just keep thinking that." Chad grinned. "I’ve got the kids on my side!"
"No fair." Theresa teasing huffed grabbing Kendra and Jada both quickly pulling them under the water with her as Matt pointed and giggled.

Justin Crane laughed as he watched his two nephews play on the Crane playground. Life as a Crane was definitely different, but he had to admit he did enjoy it. He wondered if his Micah and Isaac would ever understand how lucky they were, living in a loving family with perks that other kids would only dream about.
"Play Jut." Isaac begged pulling on his hand. "Little dude why don’t we go find your daddy and see if he wants to play?" He questioned bending to pick up Isaac. "Micah wanta find daddy?" He asked the youngest boy.
"Dada." Micah giggled. "Dada."
"That’s right lets find Dada."
"I believe their father is quite busy at the moment." Julian Crane laughed. "Matt is swimming in the pool with the girls and he’s very hyper."
Justin looked up at his father, "Well can you take one of rugrats?"
"Of course I can." Julian nodded. "Micah come to grandpa." He laughed picking up the baby.
"Me go too." Isaac begged.
"Hey you don’t like me no more short stuff?" Justin laughed tickling the little boy as he giggled wildly.
"Your wonderful with the children Justin, your going to make a great dad someday." Julian smiled.
"Well I’m gonna get out college first." Justin laughed. "Ain’t no way I’m having kids before then."
Julian nodded. "Wise decision my boy." He watched his son as he played with Isaac, this son was much like him, this was the son that he knew would go far. It had been a rough three years, trying to make headway with Justin, let him know that he did indeed love him as his father. Slowly Justin had began to open up, slower than Chad, yet at the same time he had accepted the Crane name, and now he was able to call him dad with ease. Julian patted Micah on the back as he studied Justin. Having his other children back was a blessing, yet at the same time he worried about Jonah. He was the son who loved to party, the one that simply wanted women, Jonah took after Ivy’s family, and at times he wasn’t very bright, most of the time he reminded Julian of Ethan, of course that was before Beth came along, she had helped Ethan more than anyone could have hoped.
"Dad are you thinking again?" Justin questioned loudly. "Because if you are it can’t be a good thing."
Coming out of his daze Julian looked over at his son and laughed. "Thinking is never a bad thing son."
"It is when Jonah does it, man that boy does some dumb stuff." Justin laughed looking over as his brother approached.
Jonah Crane smiled over at his brother and father, his sandy blonde hair spiked in the front as he walked toward them, blue eyes shined brightly as Justin and Julian exchanged looks. Jonah was up to something and they both knew it as he flashed his cocky grin.
"Dude do we have enough kids around here?" Jonah asked teasingly.
"No." Julian smiled. "In fact one day I hope I have even more grandchildren."
"Well you won’t get them from me." Jonah spoke. "I want to enjoy my youth, with as many women as possible."
"Son." Julian frowned. "Please don’t do like I did, you’ll look back and regret it one day, I know that much for a fact."
"Do you regret me and Chad?" Justin suddenly spoke up. "Is that what you mean?" He asked arching his eyebrows.
Julian’s face fell. "No son, that’s not what I meant at all."
"Are you sure? Cause if you do I’ll be glad to get our of your hair." Justin spoke.
"Son I love you and Chad, I don’t regret either of you, I am blessed to have both of you in my life."
Justin sighed. "Yeah."
"Ok so are we done bonding and all? Because I was planning on going to the Book Café and I thought you might wanta go." Jonah smirked looking at Justin. "The Carter twins wanted us to come, dude we can’t pass it up."
Justin smiled. "Sounds good but I’ve got early classes in the morning."
"You can’t skip them?" Jonah questioned. "Dude its twins."
Justin shook his head. "I’ll go but only for a little while, then your on your own."
With a nod from Jonah he looked over at his father. "Relax, I’m just having fun."
Julian let out a heavy sigh. "At least Ericka is still my innocent baby."
Jonah groaned. "She’s too innocent, gets annoying."
"She’s just daddy’s little girl." Julian laughed.

Gwen Hotchkiss let out a sigh as she walked over to her boyfriend. "You’ve been depressed all day, baby what’s wrong?"
Miguel looked up at Gwen a frown on his face. "Two years ago today, Kay’s boyfriend died. They were going to get married Gwen, have a family, and he just died."
"Oh sweetie." Gwen frowned. "But he was so sick."
"Why did he have to get cancer? She was so happy, my best friend was finally happy and it was just over like that."
"Things happen and we can’t explain them." Gwen spoke hugging Miguel gently.
"That’s why I want to enjoy our time Gwen, I want us to be together for the rest of our lives, that’s all I want."
"Sweetie we will be." Gwen smiled. "I mean I’ll love you forever."
"Then why can’t you marry me?" Miguel swallowed. "You know I’m yours, no one or nothing can come between us, so why not just marry me Gwen?"
"Because its not time." She frowned lowering her head.
"When will it be time?" He asked letting out a breath.
"I’m not sure." Gwen shrugged. "I just have a lot of issues I have to deal with, things that go deep."
Miguel touched her cheek. "Well I’m not giving up, one day Gwen Hotchkiss I’m going to make you my wife, and no one is going to stop me." He laughed kissing her gently.

Kay Bennett took a deep breath, getting through today was going to be a uphill fight, one she couldn’t face alone.
Walking over to the mantle she took a photo in her hand, deep blue eyes stared back at her, sandy blonde hair falling in the man’s eyes. There was a smirk on his face, and Kay was in his arms. "Tarren, how do I make it today?" She questioned the photo. "Two years Tarren, two years today."
"Its not fair you know." She spoke. "You were suppose to be the father of my children."

"I want to be left alone!" Kay yelled moving again from her mother. "I don’t need anyone!"
"Kay, please." Grace Bennett pleaded. "You need your family now."
"I need Tarren!" She yelled. "I need the man I love, but he’s gone now, and no one here can bring him back so just leave me alone."
"Kay, he fought so hard to live." Miguel whispered.
"Not hard enough." She spoke her hands shaking. "He’s gone Miguel, the only person that ever truly loved me is dead! No one in this room can change that." She spoke as tears began to rush down her face. "I just want to be alone. Leave me alone."
"Kay." Sam spoke trying to hug his daughter."
"Let her be." Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald spoke coming out of the kitchen. "Let her grieve her way."
"But she needs us." Grace cried.
Pilar shook her head. "She will let you know when she needs you."
"Please just go." Kay cried. "Please."

Taking another look at the picture she sighed. She was thankful now for the people in her life, her friends and family, and to the Cranes for giving her a job in her daycare.
"I hope Miggs understands why I’m late." She sighed wiping her eyes as she headed to the door. Opening it quickly she let out a gasp as her eyes met those of her past. "You." She whispered looking the person up and down shocked at what she saw.
Pale blonde hair flowed down the girl’s shoulders, at the bottom it was tipped with black, her eyes filled with brightness shined at Kay through a mass of black eyeliner. "Miss me?" The cheerful voice spoke.
"Why are you back?" Kay questioned crossing her arms.
With a quick shrug the other woman sighed. "Harmony is my home silly."
"Charity you’ve been gone for years."
Charity Standish laughed. "Gone to college, now I’m back." Sitting down her bags she eyed Kay. "So tell me is Miguel single yet? I can’t wait to see him."
