"Can we watch something funny?" Bray begged looking over at Charity.
"You said I could pick." She reminded him, pointing at him with her finger.
"And you promised, nothing to girlie." He said grinning.
"Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory then?" She suggested her eyes sparkling.
"Um no. I can’t believe I have that movie." He blushed.
"You like it." Charity laughed.
"Well, its a cool movie."
"It teaches lessons too, about children who are brats." She added then grinned. "Tell me Bray, what did YOU learn from the movie."
"Charity, are you calling me a brat?"
She giggled. "Its nicer than most of the things I say or think about you."
"I’m sure it is. Now pick a good movie and hurry." He rushed.
Charity looked at his stack of movies and sighed. "Why don’t you just pick?" She asked.
"Me?" He grinned. "You mean the ‘Great and Powerful Charity Standish can’t pick a simple movie."
Charity shook her head. "Truth is, Miguel and I didn’t watch a lot of movies, Good Movies anyway, and I can’t remember much about the older movies."
"Then why don’t we just watch Willy Wonka."
"You really want to watch it?" She smiled.
Lowering his head Bray nodded. "Its my favorite movie ever." He admitted.
"You’re a softy." She yelled at laughing. "The big hunk of a model is a softy."
"Not so loud." He blushed.
"Yeah, sure, whatever you say." She grinned. ‘But you have just made my night"
"Glad I was able to please you." Brayden said rolling his eyes.
Charity smiled as she watched Bray move around the room, his looks were only apart of him, he was so complex. And what scared her was the fact that she liked it. Walking over to his desk she looked down at papers sitting in a stack.
"What’s this? A new novel perhaps?" She smiled.
"Don’t touch those." He suddenly snapped at her.
Charity frowned. "I didn’t realize writers were so protective of there work."
"This one is." He said looking at her. "Until its done, don’t read it."
Charity sighed. "Just a peek? I want to know if you’re any good."
"No!" He yelled again. "Don’t read it!"
"What’s wrong with you? I thought writers wanted everyone to read their work."
"When its done." He said again. "And its not done."
"Just one page?" Charity begged looking up at Brayden, her eyes dancing at the task at hand.
"Fine." He grumbled. "But just a page."
"I knew you’d cave." She laughed, looking at the page in her hand. "So what’s this book about anyway?"
"A young man trying to find his way in the world."
"Isn’t that what all books are about? Someone finding there way?" Charity asked.
"Mine is different." He said looking at her.
"If you say so." She sighed looking at the paper, she began to read out loud.

In his weary mind he sorted the past from the present, he knew the choice he had made would forever change him, yet it was the right thing to do. He had spent his life trying to make his family happy, be the son his mother had worked so hard on molding him into. A doctor she had begged, With his intelligence he must be come a doctor. It was a long road to walk, his mind yelled at him, walking alone was foolish, his parents would never approve.
"Enough." He screamed out at the night sky. This was the right choice. Leaving everything behind was the only thing left for him to do.
What would his parents do? Would his mother cry? Or just yell at his father, blame everything on him. His father wouldn’t really care, he’d say the boy had always been a little different.
He picked up his backpack and looked back at the huge house he had called home for so long.
"I don’t belong here." He muttered to himself. "I’ve spent my whole life feeling alone, why not live it?" He sighed turning his back on everything.
It was time, Home was out there somewhere, he just had to find it now.

"Oh my gosh, this is so, Whoa!" Charity gushed looking up at Bray, "And this is just the prologue?"
He smiled nervously, "You actually liked it?" He questioned, walking over to her. "Because I was thinking of rewriting it."
"Bray, its wonderful, its about you isn’t it?" She said watching him lower his head.
"Of course not Standish." He answered back.
"It is Bray. This is how you feel." She said again. "Don’t lie to me."
Brayden turned away from her. "Maybe some of it. I work from my own life at times." He admitted. "But it’s not all about me." He said quickly.
"Bray." Charity said sounding more human than he’d ever heard her.
"Yeah Standish?"
"I’m sorry you feel so alone." She said in a whisper.
"I never said I feel alone." He defended.
She walked over to him touching him on the back. "Bray don’t lie to me, I’m totally alone in this world, I understand."
"I have a family." He said looking at her. "I am not alone."
"Right Bray. You keep telling yourself that." She frowned staring at his eyes in a new light. "But we both know I’m right."
"Can we just watch the stupid movie?" He asked moving away from her and flopping down on the couch. "I think we’ve had enough bonding for one night."
"What are you afraid we might start getting along? Or are you scared that you’re going to finally open up to someone?"
"That’s you’re problem, not mine Standish. You’re the one that’s closed yourself up from everyone else." Bray snapped.
"You know what? Maybe we both have.": Charity shot back as their eyes met in a battle neither was sure they could win.
