Cruel Intentions.

Eve grabbed her jacket as she got down the stairs that morning. Looking at her watch, she sighed heavily. “Oh, I am never going to be able to fix Whitney any thing for that tennis match this morning if I don’t leave now.” She stated. “I better leave her and T.C. a note.” She said as she hurried into the kitchen.

When Eve entered into the kitchen she quickly stopped in shock. Before her eyes, Theresa, Whitney, Chad and Fox Crane were all sitting at her table having what looked like pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Her eyes lifted up to laughter and she saw T.C. smiling with Liz about some private joke as she handed him a plate.

“What’s going on here?” Eve asked out loud trying to keep her voice from cracking.

T.C. smiled at Eve as he sat his plate down on the table. “Morning sweet heart.” He said kissing her cheek. “Hey, why don’t you grab a bite to eat. Liz really worked it in here this morning.”

“Liz?” Eve questioned looking up at her sister, who was smiling back nastily.

Liz nodded her head. “Yes.” She stated. “I figured after every thing that happened to poor Theresa last night she could use a nice warm breakfast so I invited her over, and she brought her friend Fox.” She informed.

Eve smiled some. “Well that was sweet of you Liz, but I could have made breakfast.” She stated. “You shouldn’t have gone out of your way.”

Liz shook her head. “It was no trouble at all.” She stated. “After all, I think of you all like.....family.” She said smiling wickedly at Eve. “And besides, T.C. told me you had an important surgery this morning.”

Eve quickly looked down at her watch. “Oh yes, as a matter of fact I need to get going.” She stated.

“Oh mom, you will remember to be home so we can swing by the store tonight and help me pick out a dress won’t you?” Whitney asked.

Eve sighed heavily. “Oh sweet heart I completely forgot.” She stated. “I have more than one surgery today, and a few other patients. I won’t be home until really late.”

Whitney frowned some. “Mom, you have been promising me since last week you’d come shopping with me.” She stated. “This is really important, the awards banquet is in four days and I have nothing to wear.” She stated. “Thanks for remembering mom.” She said sarcastically.

“Oh Whitney honey I’ll go with you.” Liz said walking over to her and putting her hand on her shoulder. “I have been meaning to go shopping.”

Whitney looked up hopefully. “Really?” She asked. “I mean, I’d hate to be a bother.”

Liz shook her head. “No, don’t be silly.” She stated. “In fact we could all make a day of it, you I and Theresa, what do you say?” She asked.

Theresa smiled sadly, but shook her head. “No thank you I am not really in the party mood.” She stated.

Liz frowned sadly. “Are you sure?” She asked. “Maybe getting out is just what you need.”

“No Liz,” Theresa said shaking her head. “Revenge is what I need.”

Liz was silent for a minute then looked back to Whitney. “Well I guess it’s just you and I if you want.” She stated.

Whitney smiled. “Oh are you kidding, I’d love too.” She stated. “We can go right after my match this morning.” She stated.

“Speaking of which honey we need to get going.” T.C. spoke up standing with his empty plate. “Liz, thank you that was delicious.” He said giving her a small peck on the cheek. “It’s good to have breakfast. Eve has been so busy of late she rarely gets the change except on weekends, and even then she has to go some times.”

Liz smiled her innocent smile. “Oh T.C. any thing I can do to help you know I will.” She stated. “After all you have all done for me, it’s the least I can do.” She looked back at Eve. “Oh Eve you’d better get going.” She stated. “Double surgery and all.”

Eve tensed some as she looked at Liz. “Yes, I’d better be going.” She said eyeing Liz with nothing but hate and disdain, but forcing herself to turn around and walk out of the house leaving her family at the mercy of her sister.

Rebecca slipped out of the master bathroom in her ad Julian’s bedroom with a smile on her face. “Morning in the mansion has never been so bright.” She said to herself going to the mirror and examining her appearance. “Theresa has finally been kicked to the curb leaving Ivy and I he winners.” She then frowned. “Too bad Ivy’s next, but she made a worthy adviser and a good short time partner.”

As she pulled away from the mirror she walked to the door and opened it, and much to her surprise, there was a tape on the floor. Just lying there in plain day light for any one to take. “Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.” She stated “The service around here is just going to hell.” She said picking up the tape. “I wonder what's on here.” She said closing the door and going back into the room.

Looking at the tape she saw it was blank. Nothing was written on. Walking to the television in Julian’s bedroom she slipped in and pressed play. For a second it was just plan screen. She took a few steps back until she found the bed, then sat on it. Seconds later, some thing clicked and a picture came before her eyes.

Rebecca had to strain some to see because it was a little blurry at first, but then it came into full view and she gasped. “Trenton.” She said in a soft breath.

On the screen a small child, a small child who looked no older than two or three years old was running in a rather large back yard. He was kicking a soccer ball and smiling brightly into the camera. Suddenly, on the screen Rebecca appeared. A younger looking version of Rebecca. Maybe early thirties. She was smiling at the little boy kicking the ball.

“Go sweet heart, go baby!” She cheered him on as he continued to kick it. He then did some swift move with it and bounced it on his knee. “Yea!” Rebecca called out running towards him and pulling him up into her arms. “There you go.” She said pinching his cheek. “Whose mommies big man?” She asked.

“I am!” The little boy said smiling big.

Rebecca now pointed at the camera. “Now, wave to Daddy!” She stated. “Tell him hi!”

The little boy on the screen waved smiling. “I love you Daddy.”

Rebecca gasped as she felt tears coming to her eyes. Standing quickly she ran to the VCR on the television, hit the eject button and the tape stopped and slowly came out. Pulling the tape out she examined it. “Who could have done this?” She asked out loud. “Why would some one do this....send me a tape of my dea.......” She couldn’t even let the word escape her mouth. She had never really said it, although other people did. The doctor, her family, her husband, even Gwen. But she never excepted it. Never. She always held out hope that one day. One day he was coming back to her. Angrily she held the tape tightly and went stomping out of the room.

Ivy smiled to herself as she rolled out of the bathroom and into her bedroom. She was feeling on top of the world this morning. Theresa was finally out of this house and could make her life miserable no more. She could not get the look of Theresa’s face off her mind. It had been ringing in her head all night and gave her the sweetest dreams.

“Oh, finished.” She said to herself. “That little gutter snipe is finished.” She said rolling to her desk.

Suddenly the bedroom door opened and in walked Rebecca her face as red as her hair. “Oh Rebecca I.......” Ivy stopped when she took in her partners complexion. “What is the matter with you?” She asked.

“You know damn well what's wrong with me!” Rebecca said trying to keep her voice from showing any emotion but anger. “You know Ivy I knew you were a bitch, but to do some thing so evil, and hurtful to me no matter how much you say you hate me it..........”

“Rebecca what are you babbling about?” Ivy asked looking up at her confused. “I didn’t do any thing to you.”

“Then how do you explain this?” Rebecca asked holding up the tape. “Huh, answer me Ivy?”

“What’s to explain Rebecca it’s a tape.” Ivy stated. “You know what they are you were around when they were making them.” Ivy smiled at her own jab.

“I am talking about what’s on the tape.” Rebecca said slowly losing her temper, and her strength. “Where did you get it?”

Ivy sighed heavily. “For the love of God get what?” She asked. “How many times do I have to tell you I have no idea what you are talking about.” She stated.

Rebecca looked down at Ivy, and saw in her face that she was telling the truth which made her worry even more. “Then....then who sent this to me?” She asked sitting on Ivy’s bed.

Ivy frowned some and took the tape from Rebecca. ‘What is it?” She asked.

“A tape.” Rebecca answered in a far away voice.

Ivy rolled her eyes. “I can see that it’s a tape Rebecca, what’s on it.”

Rebecca looked to Ivy, her face revealed her sadness and confusion. “Of Trenton’s second birthday.”

Ivy looked shocked as the words escaped Rebecca’s mouth, and she looked down at the tape. “Trenton?” She questioned. “You....you mean your son Trenton?” She asked.

Rebecca nodded her head slowly as she starred off into space thinking about him.

“Oh Rebecca,” Ivy said sadly looking at her. “I can see why your so upset, I know Trenton’s death was hard on you but I swear I had nothing to do with sending you this tape I never did that.”

Rebecca nodded her head. “I-I believe you.” She stated. “This....this tape is supposed to be at the Hotchkiss Mansion in a secret stash where I kept all his tapes.” Her face grew angry some. “Are the few Jonathan let me keep.” She said in a bitter tone.

Ivy nodded her head. “I see.” She stated. “Um, maybe it was Gwen?” She asked not believing it herself.

Rebecca shook her head. “She didn’t even know I had this.” She stated.

Ivy nodded her head. “Well, maybe you should just go get some rest.” She stated. “Or get some thing to eat, or some thing to calm, your nerves.” She said handing the tape back to Rebecca.

Rebecca nodded her head and took the tape. Standing she walked to Ivy’s door still kind of dazed. “I am....I’m sorry for accusing you.” Se said turning back to her before leaving.

Ivy shook her head. “It’s alright.” She said keeping her voice somber. “I understand.”

Rebecca nodded her head, and then slipped out the door closing it behind her. Ivy frowned some as Rebecca left. She had to admit, as much as she and Rebecca disagreed, and hated each other, she had to feel sorry for her right now. She remembered when the Hotchkiss family lost Trenton, it devastated Rebecca to no end. She held out hope for a year he would come back.....they never found the body. It was so tragic.

She shook her head some. “No, Ivy, you have to stay focused.” She stated. “Right now you have to keep your mind on Sam.” It was hard though. Trenton was her God child, and she had loved him too and the thought that some one had done that to Rebecca some what angered and upset Ivy.

“Damn it.” She cursed out loud. “I need to stay on track. Focused. If my plan to get Sam back is going to work I can’t roll around all the time feeling sad thinking about things in the past. I have to look to the future. My future. With Sam.”
