CHAPTER 19

Dr. Samuels was immediately paged after Eve awakened. When he entered her room, the sight before him surprised him a lot. Two nurses as well as Ivy were trying to hold Eve down to the bed, while she fought and screamed out Julian’s name over and over again. He ran over towards her bed, and told one of the nurses to bring him something to calm her down. Five minutes later, the nurse returned with a syringe and handed over to him.

She had to find Julian, but they wouldn’t let her go. Eve tried her damnedest to fight those nurses and Ivy off of her, but it was no use. And then Dr. Samuels just had to join in too.

“Let me go right this minute! I have to find Julian, he needs me!” Eve shouted. She then watched as the nurse Dr. Samuels sent out returned, with a needle in her hand. “What the hell is that for?!” She shrieked, as her eyes grew bigger.

“This is going to help you relax Eve.” Dr. Samuels said, as he got ready to stick her.

“Ok, ok, ok….I’ll stop fighting if you put the needle away.” Eve said then took a deep breath. Just because she used needles on her patients all the time, didn’t necessarily mean that she liked them herself. In fact, she hated them terribly…and she called herself a doctor.

“You promise not to act out again Eve?” Dr. Samuels asked.

Eve nodded her head yes.

“Ok let her go.”

Ivy as well as the other nurse did what Dr. Samuels asked and released her. Eve straightened herself up in bed then took another deep breath.

“I’m sorry…” Eve said. “but I have to find Julian. Something’s not right.”

“What are you talking about Eve?” Ivy asked her as she sat back down in the chair next to Eve’s bed.

Dr. Samuels took notice that Eve was calm enough to talk to Ivy, motioned for the nurses to follow him out and give the two women some privacy.

Marco was driving like a bat out of hell as he sped down the streets of Harmony. He had to get over Carlo’s place and find out what the hell happened. He gripped the steering wheel tightly as he thought over every probable situation. What if Julian was dead? What if Carlo was dead? What if they both were dead?! A chill ran down his spine as he tried to push those thoughts away. Whatever he found when he arrived at Carlo’s place, he would deal with it from there.

Finally, he pulled up in front of Carlo’s apartment complex. Getting out of his car, Marco ran across the street and towards Carlo’s apartment when suddenly one of his men came running towards him.

“Boss.” The guy said as he stopped in front of Marco to catch his breath.

“How bad is it Claudio?” Marco asked.

“I don’t know how…to describe it…to you Mr. Luciano.” He said in between breaths.

“Just spit it out! Are they alive or not?”

“That’s just it sir…we don’t know.”

“What?!”

“When we entered the apartment, blood was all over the place but Mr. Crane and Carlo were no where to be found.”

Marco moved pass Claudio and walked into the apartment. Once inside, his face paled instantly. The inside of Carlo’s apartment looked like a tornado passed through it and there was blood all over the place.

“Where the hell are they?” Marco whispered.

Carlo leaned against the side of the building gasping for air. Raising his right hand to his face, he watched as blood slowly ran down his arm before placing back over the gunshot wound to his side. He then looked down and stared at the unconscious Julian.

“Damn bastard.” Carlo spat then kicked Julian in the side.

Julian cried out but remained unconscious.

{Flashback}

Julian looked Carlo up and down. Seriously, did this idiot honestly believe everything he just said?!

“You’re crazy.”

“I’m not crazy, everyone else is if they can’t see how much Eve loves me!” Carlo shouted as he started banging the side of his head with his free hand.

Noticing how distracted Carlo was, Julian said a silent prayer then ran towards him. “Eve is my wife and I’m never letting her go.”

Hearing what Julian said, Carlo was just turning back around to shoot and kill him when Julian suddenly tackled him to the ground. As the two of them struggled on the ground for control of the gun, it suddenly went off twice…*POP, POP*…one bullet flew pass the side of Julian‘s face, while the other connected with Carlo’s right side. Carlo yelled out in pain, then somehow kicked Julian off of him. The sudden moment caught Julian off guard as the back of his head hit the side of the wall knocking him out cold.

Carlo grimaced in pain as he held his injured side tightly. Crawling over to the wall to help him stand, Carlo walked over towards Julian to see if he was faking. When he got closer, he noticed a puddle of blood next to Julian’s head. Suddenly, loud banging noise could be heard at his front door. He began to panic. Julian was dead, yes, but he couldn’t have anyone finding his body in his apartment. Mustering as much strength as he could, he bent over, picked Julian up and threw him over his shoulder. Walking into his bedroom, he opened the window next to his bed and climbed out before who ever it was banging on his door found them.

{flashback ends}

“Just my luck, the stupid bastard’s not dead.” Carlo sneered.

He needed to dump Julian’s body somewhere fast, so he could hurry up and change out of these bloody clothes. Peaking around the corner of the building, Carlo looked around to make sure the coast was clear before picking Julian up once more and continuing on with his search. Somehow it never ceased to amaze Carlo how easy it was to walk around Harmony bloody as hell with an equally bloody and unconscious person in his arms.

Once Dr. Samuels and the others were gone, Eve told Ivy everything. From the dream she had to what Carlo did…everything. Ivy’s eyes grew darker and it looked as if smoke was coming from her ears. Eve flinched back a little; she had never seen Ivy this pissed off before. That was twenty minutes ago and Ivy was still going at it.

“I’m gonna kill him! That sick, perverted bastard! And I’m gonna kill the b*tch Rebecca too….just wait until I get my hands on them.” Ivy was steamed.

As Ivy continued her ranting, Eve remained silent. She knew that something bad had happened to Julian and that he needed her, when suddenly it happened….

“Oh god…my babies! Ivy…” Eve shouted frantically.

Ivy was just about to say something else when she heard Eve call her.

“What is it?” Ivy asked in a concerned voice.

“What kind of mother am I?! I’ve been ranting about finding Julian for all this time and just now realized I haven’t heard anything about my children.” She cried out.

“Eve calm down.” Ivy said as she took Eve by the hand.

“How are my babies Ivy?” Eve sniffed.

“They’re fine Eve. In fact, William can go home tonight.”

“That’s great. What about Kellen?”

“He can go home in a few days.” Ivy smiled then gave Eve a hug.

After searching for the last fifteen minutes for a place to dump Julian’s body, Carlo finally found it. A smile appeared on his face as he dragged Julian’s unconscious form over towards the pier. Once there, he grabbed hold of rail when suddenly everything around him began to spin.

“Well Julian…this is it,” he said, “I’ve finally won. Eve is all mine.” He grinned.

“I don’t think so brother.”

After leaving Carlo’s apartment, Marco hopped back in his car and began was driving back to the hospital. He didn’t know what he was going to tell Ivy, so until he came up with something, he decided to take the long way back to the hospital when he caught movement to the right of him. Narrowing his eyes, he almost crashed into a utility pole when he saw who it was. Pulling over to the side of the road, he got out of his car and followed Carlo by foot. When he finally caught up with him at the pier, he heard what he said to Julian, who looked unconscious and decided to intervene.

“I don’t think so brother.”

“You’re too late Marco. He’s as good as dead.” Carlo said then turned around slowly to face him.

“No…” Marco shouted then ran towards Carlo.

“Don’t come any closer or else you die.” Carlo spat.

Marco stopped running when he saw Carlo point a gun at him.

“Drop the gun Carlo.” Marco said.

“NO!” Carlo shouted. “You think I forgot about what you did to me huh?! You golly ing crossed the line when you put your hands on me.”

“You can’t have Eve, Carlo. She’s told you this numerous times and yet you continue to purse her. You say you love her, but if you truly loved her then you would leave her alone.”

“I can’t.” Carlo snapped.

“You have to…”

“What the hell do you know about my feelings for Eve huh?! Nothing!” Carlo snapped again. “I will have her, and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it.”

“You’re right, he can’t but I can.” Julian shouted from behind as grabbed Carlo by the arm, spun him around and punched him in the face.

Carlo stumbled backward after taking the hit that Julian gave him. Julian for his part afterwards, stumbled forward landing on his hands and knees. Marco ran over to Julian and placed a hand on his shoulder.

“Are you alright?” Marco asked.

“No…” Julian moaned. “The back of my head is killing me.” He grimaced.

“Can you stand up again?”

“I’ll try.” Julian said then carefully stood up. “I’m fine now. See if your brother is alright, he needs help.”

Marco nodded then walked over to Carlo. Dropping down to one knee, he placed his right hand on his brother’s face.

“Marco…” Carlo whispered.

“Take it easy Carlo.” Marco whispered back.

“I…I…” Carlo tried to speak again but couldn’t seem to catch his breath as he choke up some blood.

“Hold on while I call for help.” Marco said as tears fell down his face.

Carlo grabbed on to Marco’s arm and pulled him down to his face.

“Mar..co…I…ha..te…you.” Carlo finally managed to say then watched, as Marco’s eyes grew big before firing one shot, *POP*, an evil grin appeared on his face as his eyes closed for the last time.
