“I am taking a huge risk here Julian.”

“Eve, I won’t disappoint you, I love you so much, I will make the most of this time together. I want you to be happy, I want you to know exactly what it will be like to be a part of my world once again.”

“Julian, I have gotten to know you over the last while, being a part of your world is amazing.”

“But Eve, there is so much more I can give you sweetheart. You haven’t had any time alone with me, without interruptions, I want to show you why I am the better choice in your life.”

“It’s still not that simple I am afraid.”

“Life isn’t simple, all I ask is that you open your heart to the possibilities to love me again. You know I will do everything in my power to make you feel special. I have always said you can be Eve with me, you can tell me anything, you can cry, laugh, it doesn’t matter, I am here for you Eve and I always will be. I cherish our love so dearly that my heart bleeds in agony for the love I once gave up with you. Please give me the chance to show you that love, for you to remember what we had and what we can have in the future. I want to be the only one who is in your heart and I will do everything possible to prove how much I love you.” He said, caressing her soft cheek.

“You are making me quite the offer.”

“I will put everything on the line for you Eve. I don’t care about Rebecca or my father, or anyone who stands in our way, I am in love with you and I want the whole world to know it.”

Eve stared at him; she had never seen such love in his eyes at that very moment. She knew Julian loved her, but his heart was a thousand times bigger than she could have ever imagined. To observe just how much he had changed, it was almost miraculous. He had done a complete turnaround in such a short time. She could have easily called him the new Julian, as opposed to old Julian, but the facts were the Julian that she saw before her now, was the real one. The drunken womanizer was just a phase that he had gone through, his heart as cold as ice, from living a lonely and miserable life. She felt a tear run down her cheek and Julian wiped it gently away. She couldn’t help it, looking at him as he was, made her very emotional. She closed her eyes for one moment, the events and milestones they shared flashing before her eyes. Every moment, their love, lust, the happy and sad times, the baby she lost and losing him, losing the one true thing that she thought she had. Tears then trickled down one by one when she felt her heart in her throat, the day he had abandoned her, a vision so clear in her mind.

“I don’t mean to make you cry my love.” He said handing her a Kleenex.

“I’m sorry Julian, I just saw the past.”

“Our past?”

“Yes and everything that happened, I am scared Julian.”

“Eve, I won’t hurt you ever again, I will never give you reason to think that you will have to fear me leaving you. What I am asking now is for your love, your heart, to be intertwined with mine once again. So many years have passed, but when I look at you, it’s like we were together yesterday and my love for you is stronger than ever.”

“I love you Julian.” She said softly.

“I love you, more than you will ever know.” He said hugging her, closing his eyes, and wanting to remember this moment forever.

He gazed at her, taking Eve’s hands, playing with her fingers ever so soothingly. Eve never wanted to admit to herself that a simple touch by Julian, sent shivers throughout her and it scared her so much. She couldn’t remember T.C. ever having that kind of affect on her. She tried so hard to deny what she felt when she looked at Julian. She had been trying to block out what feelings were deep inside of her, stay married to the man who had picked up the pieces after Julian left. Life for her was about doing the right thing, staying married to the man who loved her, who she had a family with. Eve had to completely change herself in order to lose that sorted past, especially the bad memories. But Julian did things to her, brought out her spirit, her dreams, a life that she once thought she would have as a singer. Most of all, Julian brought out a passion that she had within her soul, one that she had completely lost over time and being in his arms, kissing him, being close, rekindled that kind of magic.

“Eve, you look so sad and I don’t want to make you feel that way, what can I do to make you feel better?”

“Julian, you are doing everything right, just by being here.”

“Are you sure?”

“Julian, for the first time tonight I realized that you are a part of me, what we share will always be in my soul and I will never be able to let that go, nor do I want to.”

“My darling Eve, hearing those words, how I adore you, love you through all of eternity.”

“Julian, it still scares me, everything does.”

“I know, you are afraid of the unknown, so am I. But I don’t care; I just want to take the risk with you. Are you saying then that you still want to go away for just a day or two?”

“We need to start slowly, it’s for the best, and then I can adjust to the situation. It’s not that I don’t love you Julian, I do, but to just jump in with both feet wouldn’t be a wise decision for me at this point.”

“I understand Eve, I know you are torn between the passion we share and the love with your husband.”

“Yes.”

“You can talk to me, share your personal struggles and inner thoughts Eve, I am here to listen, to hold and comfort you and above all, love you unconditionally.”

Eve touched his face and he took her hand, kissing it ever so gently, reminiscent of the time in her office. When he looked at her, his hazel eyes expressed every fiber from his heart. She loved how he wasn’t afraid to show his true feelings or love. Eve knew that Julian had certainly locked away those thoughts and thrown away the key when he had turned to excessive drinking and many women. But he was certainly now kind and sensitive and caring Julian and when he leaned forward to kiss her, she tasted and savored each touch of his lips against hers. His mouth was warm, so familiar and yet it was like kissing him for the first time. Their chemistry was unbelievable and she knew this kind of love only came along once in a lifetime. She sighed and when Julian gazed at her, her eyes focused on his mouth as they had so many times. He was almost irresistible and Julian knew what she was thinking as he always did and pulled her close again into a kiss so tender, it left her nearly breathless. She then sat back on the seat and lay there before turning to look at him, his eyes not leaving hers for one minute.

“Stay the night with me.” He whispered.

“Julian, I can’t.”

“I just love you so much and I think you want to.”

“Yes, you are right, but not tonight, please understand.”

“I do, I just wish you could though. I can hardly stand not being able to hold you all night, I need you Eve.”

“I need you too Julian, but…”

“It’s okay, I will be patient then, I am just so happy that I get to spend some time with you, when are we going to plan this?”

“Very soon Julian, I promise you.”

“Okay, I can live with that as long as it’s soon.”

“It will be.” She said kissing him so gently.
