*~Chapter 2~*
Los Angeles

Crane Apartment

Fox woke up with a start; it was just a dream. It felt so real, and so life like to him. In it, Whitney had actual feelings for him too, and how he wished it wasn’t a dream but actually real.

He rubbed his eyes, and glanced at his clock; it was 12:30, and he was taking Whitney to the play in an hour, he had to go get ready.

He walked towards the bathroom, and picked up his cell phone to make some last minute arrangements for his date. He dialed his close friend, Amy, who was a florist, who owed him a favor.

It took a couple rings before Amy answered the phone. But when she did, Fox was relieved, Amy was a friend who was always able to give the best advice to Fox on his love life. And unknown to him, she had a huge crush on him.

“Amy…My favorite girl in the world!” Fox began as he entered his bathroom.

“Fox…Nicholas Foxworth Crane…is that you?” Amy asked, taken aback.

“Sure is. In the flesh”

“It’s been ages.” Amy exclaimed as she arranged some of the daffodils in her store.

“Yes it has,” Fox agreed, then asked, “Hey…since you are in the flower business now…Can you deliver me a dozen red roses to one Whitney Russell at my Crane apartment? And also, set aside some of your best daisies for yourself since those are your favorite, and send some of your best tulips to Kim. Charge it to my account, I’ll pick up the tab later on.”

“Awww thanks Fox…So who is this special lady of yours?” Amy questioned as she began to do the arrangements.

“I can’t say yet. Listen I got to go though. Your man, Fox has a date to go to in about an hour Thanks Amy!”

“No prob…” Amy began to say but was cut off by the dial tone.

With that, Fox set to work. He had to get ready for his date with Whitney, and the play, dinner, and of course the roses, were just the icing on the cake.

Chad despised the thought of being away from Whitney, but he had a job now; and that was his priority. He looked over at Syd who was laying down another track.

‘She has so much talent, and so much prospect in the area of music.’ Chad thought to himself.

Syd sang “Are Promises Worth Keeping?”, a song which she wrote just the night before. She had written it for Chad, and hoped that he’d get the hidden message within it. But as of yet, Chad hadn’t figured it out, hopefully by tonight, the message would be clear.

She approached him tactfully and took a deep breath before she began to ask him what she wanted to ask; but finally got the guts to ask, “Hey Chad, would you like to grab a bite to eat before we lay down more tracks? It’s my treat.”

“Well, I am getting hungry. I don’t see why not. I’m sure that Vivian wouldn’t mind us taking a break”

“Hey TC, want a sandwich? I’m making one, and I thought you might need one yourself.” Liz asked TC as she removed the bread from the fridge.

“No thanks Liz. I’m having a date with Eve later on.” TC replied as he glanced up from his work at the table.

“Aww come on TC, you’ve been working on the same thing for hours. You need some nourishment. You don’t even have to get up. I’ll even make it for you.”

“Since you put it that way, sure.”

Liz took out the rest of the ingredients, and placed down Eve’s confession tape beside her. With the information that Doc had taught while on the island, she had learned how to make subliminal messages. She had mixed it with a song that TC had heard her play earlier in the week, and planned on playing it while TC ate the sandwich.

She was about to hand TC his sandwich when a phone call interrupted them. It was somebody needing Eve at the Crane mansion, somebody had gotten hurt, and needed a doctor immediately. And unknown to Liz, it was none other than Julian Crane.

Liz went to the hallway, and called out to Eve, and told her about the phone call. This time she didn’t listen in, she already had gotten Eve’s confession on tape.

“Hello Dr. Russell speaking” Eve began.

“Dr. Russell, it’s me Angie…Mr. Crane was on the phone with his father, and then there was a loud crash. I think something has happened.”

“I’ll be right there.”

“Thank you.” the voice replied and hung up.

Eve quickly finished getting dressed, and grabbed her medical bag. She hoped that Julian was all right as she rushed out the door without saying another word to Liz or TC.

Eve drove quickly as possible to the Crane mansion. As she approached, she was surrounded by so many memories that she had shared with Julian there. There was so much love there, it wasn’t like the stuff she had with TC.

Crane Mansion

“Julian! Are you there?” Alistair boomed.

“Yes fa..father…But I’m bleeding. I will have to call you back.” Julian stammered.

“Fine then…It better be the truth.” Alistair taunted as he hung up the phone.

“Thank God…” Julian murmured to himself as he clicked his speakerphone off.

The broken glass had cut through his shoe, and pierced his foot. A Crane maid had taken notice and made arrangements for a local doctor to come to check it out.

As he removed his sock to check it out, a knock came at his door. To his surprise, in she walked. He was face to face with none other than his first love, and only love. Eve Russell.

And the only words that were able to come out of his mouth were, “Eve…”
