She sat on her bed holding a large bear in her arms touching its soft brown nose she looked around her room. It had been cleaned she realized, frowning as she stood up to walk to her closet. Ignoring the pain in her leg she opened her closet and stared, looking down she felt anger building in her. "Mother! Jessica! Dad!" She yelled out. "Someone get in here now!" She bent down and frowned as her sister appeared at her door.
"Kay what’s wrong? Is it your leg?" Jessica asked concerned.
"Where are they?" She asked looking up her eyes glazed over as her hair fell in her tear stained faced.
"Where’s what?" Jessica asked confused.
"Jessica what did you do with them? They were right here!"
"You mean the baby things?" Jessica frowned taking a deep breath. "Mom made me get rid of them."
"She what?" Kay growled slinging the hair out of her face.
"She said you didn’t need as a reminder." She almost whispered fear taking over as she looked at her sister’s wild eyes.
"They belonged to me, not her." Kay yelled out. "She had no right!"
"I, I didn’t want to Kay, honest, I told her not to, but she wouldn’t listen."
"Where is she?" Kay asked trying to stand up her bruised leg aching as she moved to her feet.
"She’s at Charity’s apartment, helping her move in."
"Of course she is." Kay frowned rolling her eyes. "I came home two hours ago and she’s already over at Charity’s, I should have known."
"I’m sorry Kay." Jessica frowned.
Kay hobbled back to her bed and sat down. "They were my clothes not hers." She repeated again looking up at Jessica.
"Kay." Jessica said looking over at her.
"What?" Kay almost yelled.
"They’re in my bedroom. I didn’t throw them away, I couldn’t." She informed her sister in a child like voice. "I knew you would want them." She said blinking back tears.
Kay dropped her head, "I’m sorry I yelled at you."
"Don’t be, would you like me to go get them?" Jessica asked.
Kay nodded her head slowly, "I just need them."
Jessica started out of the bedroom as Kay looked back up. "Jess." She called after her sister.
"Yeah Kay?"
"I was right." She said tears forming in her eyes again.
"Right?" Jessica questioned.
"Before I left the hospital Miguel told me, she was a girl, just like I said."
Jessica forced a smile through her own tears. "A niece." She whispered turning her head as she quickly left the room refusing to let her sister see her own pain.
Kay let her head fall back on her pillow holding the bear again as she stared into the darkness of her room. "A daughter." She breathed. "My baby girl."

Reese Durkee ran his fingers though his hair as he paced about in his room. Part of him wanted to race over to the Bennett place and run to Kay’s room, but the other part wanted to wait until she had more time. "Man you’ve got to get it together." He frowned adjusting his glasses again. "She doesn’t need you." He told himself stopping in front of his bookstand as he stared at a picture of his beautiful Kay. Her hair fell to her shoulders as she glanced up smiling shyly. He had worked so hard to get a good shot of her with his camera begging and pleading for almost two hours. Finally she had gave in, after Miguel told her he needed a new photo of her as well. That was eight months ago, before everything changed for everyone he frowned.

"Reese can I come in?" A voice called out.
He looked up and smiled. "Simone what are you doing here?" He asked.
Simone Russell walked into the room and frowned. "I wanted to go see Kay, but didn’t want to go alone."
"But your her best friend."
Simone sighed. "I don’t know what to do or say, I’ve tried talking to her Reese but she zones out on me."
"Kay is in a daze right now Simone. She’s grieving the only way she knows how and that’s by trying to hold it all in. You just have to be there for her, hug her if she wants hugged, or if she wants her space, you give her that."
"All she wants is space right now." Simone frowned.
"Kay has never been a needy person, its hard for her to reach out to anyone, she’s fighting her own inner battle, struggling to understand what has happened and why. Quite frankly she blames herself Simone, she feels all the bad she has done brought this up on her, a punishment of sorts." He explained. "I’ve tried to explain to her that, that simply isn’t true, but Kay won’t believe it."
Simone looked at Reese a new understanding flooding her eyes. "You know her better than I do." She spoke. "And I’m her best friend."
Reese frowned. "Its not a matter of knowing her better, its simply the fact that I’ve studied her and tried to understand her, so I know how to better help her myself." He lied. He couldn’t tell Simone that he did indeed know Kay better because he loved her more than anything in the world. He wouldn’t let anyone know that he still cared for Kay in anyway other than a friend.
Simone shook her head, "I just feel so useless, I’ve always been able to help her and this time I can’t. Miguel is the only person that understands her pain." She frowned.
Reese felt a lump grow in his throat. "Miguel is hurting in his own way as well." He said.
"Have you talked to him? I mean he’s your best friend, how is he?" Simone questioned worry on her face.
"I haven’t really talked to him much lately. He’s been spending most of his time with his mother and Kay. I figure I’ll wait and talk to him later."
"But doesn’t he need you now?"
"I’m here if either of them need me Simone." He answered.
Simone smiled. "Well I’m just glad Miguel still plans on going through with the wedding, I mean at least he loves her and will stand by her you know?"
Reese swallowed turning away from Simone a frown plastered on his face. Miguel wasn’t in love with Kay, he was only marrying her because it was the ‘right’ thing to do. "Yeah I guess your right." He managed his words forced.
"Well do you want to go over to Kay’s with me now?" Simone finally asked.
Reese turned back and nodded his head. "Yeah of course." He said "We can take my car."

"Luis how is he?" Theresa questioned her brother as they both sat down in her living room.
"He’s hurting Sis." Luis frowned. "You mean you haven’t talked to him?"
Theresa frowned and shook her head. "I tried Luis, but he just walks away. Mama says its because I have Breanna and his baby didn’t make it."
"Just give him time Theresa, he’ll come to you when he’s ready." Luis assured his sister.
"But I want to be there for him Luis, We’ve always been there for each other and I hate the way he’s shutting me out."
"You can only do as much as he’ll allow."
Theresa nodded. "I know."
"Now what about you? How are you dealing with everything?"
Theresa shook her head. "I want my baby, its like I spend the whole week waiting for the weekend to get here, just so I can dread when it ends and I have to give her back to Ethan."
Luis frowned. "I hate watching you and Miguel go through this pain. I tried so hard to protect you both when you were younger but I realize now I can’t do that here. I have to watch you both suffer and I hate it."
"Luis just knowing your here helps me." Theresa smiled.
"Well anytime you need me." He said with a grin.
"I know, I can call and you’ll be right over. "
"Mama said Chad Harris fixed that plumbing you had asked me to take a look at, what happened couldn’t wait on your old brother here?" He laughed.
"You were working and my bathroom was filling up with water, Chad just happened to stop by to bring Breanna a gift and he helped me." She smiled. "I thought it was very sweet of him."
"Yes it was. So him and Whitney are they together or not? I see them together but I just can’t figure those two out." He laughed.
"Whitney doesn’t know what she wants." Theresa frowned. "In her heart I think she loves Chad. I know she wants to do tennis and music but I think she’s scared her parents wouldn’t approve of her and Chad, you know, because of things in the past." She finished as her doorbell rang.
"Expecting someone?" Luis asked.
"No, not unless its Whit." She said walking over to open the door. She smiled as she saw her friend on the other side.
"Whit we were just talking about you." She laughed.
"What did you say to him?" Whitney questioned. "What did you tell Chad yesterday?"
"What? Why?" Theresa asked confused as her best friend crossed her arms.
"Chad ran out of the studio yesterday, he was mad at me and it was your fault." Whitney yelled as Theresa stepped back her mouth falling open.
