He wondered if spying on them was wrong. As he watched her relax in the arms of her fiancé he could only frown. It wasn’t that Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald was a bad guy, in fact he was actually one of the nicest guys he knew. That made things worse, Reese frowned. If Miguel was a loser he could at least hate him then, but as of right now all he could do was feel annoyed. Annoyed that his best friend loved one woman, while he chose to do the stand up thing and marry another. Annoyed at the fact that Miguel had cheated on Charity with Kay, Kay the one person Reese had always dreamed of being with. Yes he was annoyed with Miguel, because he knew Miguel was in love with Charity, the fact that he had slept with Kay after a fight with Charity only made it worse.
"Miguel are you sure you want to marry me?" Reese heard Kay ask.
"Yes Kay, we are still getting married." Miguel told her, though Reese felt the words seemed forced.
"So you still love me?" Kay’s soft voice spoke.
"Kay do you even have to ask me that?" Miguel assured her.
Reese frowned, he couldn’t even say the words, no ‘Yes Kay of course I love you’. No Miguel simply got around the question the best way he knew how.
"Miguel, if you want out, I’ll understand." Kay whispered.
Reese closed his eyes and waited, knowing Miguel would lie again.
"Kay I don’t want out, we planned to get married, and that’s what we’re going to do." He soothed.
Reese sighed as he moved away from the wall, slowly walking down the stairs. Miguel would marry Kay, but would it ever work? Marriage wasn’t something to take lightly, and though Kay’s heart belonged to Miguel, Reese knew Miguel still cared for Charity. "So unfair." Reese whispered to himself.
"Is she okay?" Jessica’s voice cried out as she looked up at Reese, running to meet him at the stairs. "Why was Kay yelling?"
Reese touched Jessica’s shoulder. "Calm down Jess, Kay just had a nightmare."
"Miguel’s with her right?" Jess asked.
Reese nodded his head. "Yeah, he’s up there."
"I’m so worried about her Reese, I don’t know how to help her." Jessica cried as Reese wrapped his arms around her. "You’re there for her Jess, that’s what she needs."
"But she doesn’t want us around." Simone spoke as she walked over to Reese. He let go of Jessica and frowned. "Just don’t give up on her."
"We’re not." Simone spoke softly.
"Jessica honey, I’m home!" Sam’s voice called from the kitchen. Jessica moved from Simone and Reese to run to her father, hugging him tears in her eyes.
"Daddy, I’m so glad your here." She whimpered.
"Baby, what’s wrong? Is it Kay?" He asked concerned.
"She had this nightmare, and she was screaming." She said looking up at her father. "And before that she was so upset, because Mom made me move the baby clothes from her room."
"Where’s Kay now?" Sam questioned.
"In here room, Miguel’s with her now, but Reese, he calmed her down." Jessica explained.
"Glad you were here Reese." Sam nodded over looking at Reese. "She needs us all now."
"Yes sir, she does." Reese frowned.
"Did she tell you what the nightmare was about Reese?" Sam questioned.
Reese swallowed, he couldn’t tell anyone Kay’s secret, not until she was ready. "It was about the baby, she dreamed she was alive and then she said the baby disappeared." He spoke, leaving out much of the horrible dream.
"I see." Sam frowned. "And what’s this about your mother getting rid of the baby’s stuff?" Sam asked his youngest daughter.
"She didn’t want them to be here when Kay got home, but I couldn’t get rid of them daddy, so I put them in my room. Kay went to look for them and when she couldn’t find them, she lost it. I’ve never saw her look like that, her eyes were so wild. I’m worried daddy." Jessica cried.
"Has your mother made it home?" Sam questioned.
"No, not yet." Jessica answered.
"Well I think I’ll go check on Kay." Sam told the three teens. "Again Reese, thank you for being there for Kay." He spoke as he walked up the stairs.
"Mom’s in trouble isn’t she?" Jessica asked looking at Reese and Simone.
"She’s not the only one." Reese muttered under his breath as he looked up the stairs, his thoughts going to Miguel, knowing he would soon be forced to have a talk with his friend.

"Theresa, what’s going on?" Chad asked a frown spreading on his face. "Did you and Whit have a fight or something?" He asked.
Theresa closed her eyes taking a deep breath she opened them again, looking down to realize her hands were shaking. "It was nothing Chad." She lied turning away from him.
Chad’s hands caught her shoulders. "Hold up girl, tell me what’s going on."
Theresa moved from Chad’s grip and turned around to look at him. "Chad please, just let it go!" She begged. "Its between me and Whitney."
"So you two did have it out?" He sighed. "Theresa, did it have anything to do with me?"
Theresa lowered her head. "You? Why would it have anything to do with you?" She questioned.
"Because I sorta jumped at her for saying that stuff to you. You know, about you deserving to loose Breanna and all?"
"Why did you even bother mentioning that to her? It wasn’t a big deal." Theresa frowned.
"Well, I just didn’t think it was right. The way I see it, you did nothing wrong, and I just don’t think Whit needs to be going around saying those kind of things." He explained.
Theresa rolled her eyes, "Well she’s mad at me now, for telling you what she said."
"Girl I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to get something started." Chad apologized. "I just told her to watch what she says."
Theresa moved away from Chad as a cool breeze hit her. "Whitney cares about you Chad, and she cares about what you think of her. She doesn’t want you to be upset with her, and I totally get that. "
"Yeah, but she was wrong." Chad said moving toward Theresa again.
"I don’t know Chad, is she really wrong?" Theresa sighed. "Half the people in this town seem to think I deserved what I got." Her eyes widened as her hair swept in her face. "I see the stares from people when I walk into a room, half of them have these smug looks on their faces, like their happy my life has turned out this way. "
"Well I’m not happy, and I told Whitney about it." Chad sighed.
Theresa looked at Chad, "Go find her Chad, fix things with Whitney. I know she’s mad at me, but she needs someone."
"Theresa, she doesn’t want me. She keeps pushing me away, I’m starting to think its best if I just stay away from her."
"No, you can’t do that!" Theresa almost yelled. The words quickly leaving her mouth. "You have to be there for her Chad, please just try."
"You’re something else Theresa. Here you are upset at Whitney and you still want me to work things out with her? You’ve got a big heart girl."
Theresa lowered her head. "I just want to see her happy."
"What about you Theresa? When are you going to be happy again?" Chad asked his voice full of concern.
As her eyes met his she smiled. "When my baby is back in my arms, and I can hold her whenever I want."
"Theresa, its all going to work out." Chad told her, touching her arm.
"I just want to be more that her weekend Mom. That’s not asking much is it?"
"No, girl its not."
Theresa looked at Chad and smiled. "Now go find Whitney, you two need to talk Chad."
"You know I’m going to send her back your way right? You two can’t let your friendship go Theresa. "
"If she’ll talk to me, I’ll listen." Theresa nodded. "But a lot of hurtful things were said today Chad. Things that we won’t ever forget." Tears began to flood her eyes as she looked down. "If I loose my best friend, I don’t know what I’ll do Chad. Miguel won’t talk to me, Ethan has my baby, I just can’t loose Whitney." She sobbed.
Chad’s strong arms wrapped around Theresa, as she rested her head against his chest. Tears staining his shirt as he moved her hair from her face. Holding her head against him he looked down at her. "Its okay Theresa, just let it all out girl." He whispered.
There standing in the middle of the parking lot she let months of tears go, her heavy heart emptying much of the pain she had been forced to deal with. Chad stood comforting her hoping soon, his friend would rise above the storms, trying to figure out how he could help her with her fight.
