Money Is No Match For Love ch. 13 The Tension Thickens

Later that night, TC and Rebecca had arrived with Agent Freeman at the apartment.
"Well, this is where we'll be staying until we can get this case solved." Agent Freeman said.

"I can't believe I have to stay in an apartment of all places," Rebecca complained.

"Oh, get over yourself." TC said.

"Me!? You think you're always right, you jerk!" Rebecca said.

"I'm a jerk!? You complain more than anyone I've ever met!" TC said.

"Oh come on, all you ever do is complain. "I didn't win that tennis match and let father down. Whitney's too interested in something else to focus on her tennis career, Julian did this, Julian did that, blah blah blah." Rebecca said.

"So now you're defending Julian?" TC asked.

"Oh please," Rebecca said sarcastically. "I was just making a point. If you think I was defending that no good lying sleaze you've got another thing coming." TC laughed. "What's so funny?"

"We finally found something we can agree on," TC said.

"Maybe you are human after all," Rebecca said snidely.

"This is going to be an interesting case," Agent Freeman thought, shaking his head. Rebecca and TC entered the apartment.

"Well, this is a lot better than I'd expected," TC said. At least the place had a TV so he'd be able to tune out Rebecca's complaining. For once in his life, TC actually felt sorry for Julian. Rebecca had returned a few minutes later after exploring the apartment ranting.

"This will not do at all!" Rebecca said. "Everything in this place is cheap and tacky- I demand that you find someplace else to stay!"

"Oh, will you shut the hell up?" TC asked, finally hearing more than he could take.

"How dare you tell me to shut up?" Rebecca said. TC could only think of one other option.

"Looks like the only way to solve this problem is for both of us to shut up." TC said. For a few hours, Rebecca and TC had managed to avoid each other, occasionally trying to intimidate each other by staring each other down from the other side of the room.

"I'm stuck in an apartment with one of Julian's ex wives, help me now." TC thought.

"I'm stuck with TC- in an apartment. Get me out of here." Rebecca thought.

"Ok, you two, it's time for dinner." Agent Freeman said. Everyone sat through dinner in akward silence.

"Who wants to wash the dishes?" Agent Freeman asked.

"Certainly not me!" Rebecca said.

"I'll wash them." TC volunteered, smirking at Rebecca. "Typical Crane." TC whispered to her.

"Fine, I'll wash them!" Rebecca said, determined not to let TC win the argument.

"No, I already volunteered." TC said. Soon, TC and Rebecca were in a shouting match over the dishes.

"I think you two should consider marraige counseling!" Agent Freeman said in disbelief.

"Are you insane!?" TC and Rebecca exclaimed.

"We are definitely not married!" Rebecca said.

"Definitley not." TC agreed. "Don't forget it."

"Then you should get relationship counseling." Agent Freeman said.

"What makes you think you're in a relationship!?" TC and Rebecca exclaimed.

"Oh, I guess you two just reminded me of a particular case I had a few years ago," Agent Freeman said. TC and Rebecca ignored Agent Freeman and resumed the argument of who was going to wash the dishes.

"That ones mine," Rebecca said, grabbing a dish from TC, who was beginning to wash it.

"No, it's mine!" TC said.

"Mine!" Rebecca said.

"Mine! TC said. TC and Rebecca tried to get the dish away from each other and ended up breaking it.

"Oh, look what you did!" Rebecca said.

"It was your fault!" TC said. The tension getting the better of them, TC and Rebecca found themselves leaning in for a kiss, but the door burst open, interrupting the moment.

"Is everyone alright?" Agent Freeman asked. "I heard a crash."

"Don't worry, Agent Freeman. It was just a dish." TC said.

"Ok," Agent Freeman said as he left the room.

Eve and Julian arrived at the mansion and Julian had gotten ready for bed.

"Well, I've gotten the annulment process started." Eve said.

"Are you sure this is what you want, Eve?" Julian asked.

"I'm positive," Eve said. "There's something else I want."

"Something else?" Julian asked.

"You." Eve said seductively. "Make love to me."
