Money Is No Match For Love ch. 16

Rebecca turned the doorknob on the apartment with a large suitcase in the other hand. "Just a few minutes and I'll be free from TC hell." Rebecca muttered.
"I don't think so." A voice said. Rebecca turned around to see Agent Freeman standing behind her.

"What are you doing, spying on me?" Rebecca said snidely.

"You are not leaving this apartment until we find out who is behind all of this." Agent Freeman said.

"It was probably TC," Rebecca said sarcastically. "He probably had this whole disaster planned just so he could get the satisfaction of annoying me. If he did, it's working."

"Obviously you don't take your safety very seriously," Agent Freeman said.

"At this point, I think sanity is more important." Rebecca said.

"And I'll lose mine if I have to stay in this place with her one more minute!" TC chimed in.

"Oh please, you're already insane. I know that from all of those times you attacked Julian." Rebecca said.

"You're not very sane so I wouldn't go jumping to conclusions." TC said. "If I don't get away from you, I'll loose it."

"You can't loose what you never had to begin with." Rebecca reminded him.

"We might as well call this place the loony bin because you two are starting to drive me insane. You're even crazier than Sheridan and Luis." Agent Freeman said. TC and Rebecca glared at him.

"What did you just say?" Rebecca and TC exclaimed.

"He didn't just make another wise crack about us, did he?" TC asked.

"You know, I think he did, TC." Rebecca said.

"You better stop with those wise cracks because there is nothing between us. We're not together, we're not friends," TC said.

"And we'd both rather be anywhere else but in the same room with each other." Rebecca said. "I'd almost rather be locked in a room with my psychotic ex-pookey."

Later, Rebecca decided that she had to get out of that apartment, even if it was only for a few minutes. She waited until she was sure that TC and Agent Freeman wouldn't sneak up on her and slipped out.

"Finally, I'm away from those two idiots." Rebecca said. After walking a few minutes, Rebecca noticed a payphone. "This might be the only chance I get to talk to Gwen," Rebecca thought. Just as Rebecca stepped out of the alley between the apartment buildings, she was pulled into a shadow and a hand clamped over her mouth. Rebecca desperately tried to escape from her stalker.

"Rebecca, it's me, don't scream." Rebecca realized the voice was Julian's. "I won't take my hand off of your mouth until you promise me that you will not scream." Julian said. Rebecca nodded in agreement as Julian let go of her.

"Julian, what are you doing here?!" Rebecca exclaimed. "How did you find me? I'm not supposed to have any contact with anyone-"

"I overheard Sam and Luis talking and I tracked down the information." Julian said.

"Why are you stalking me?" Rebecca asked.

"I wasn't stalking you," Julian said. "I only pulled you into the alley so Agent Freeman wouldn't see us from the window."

"Not that I really want to see you right now anyways," Rebecca said, even though she was a little relieved to have someone to talk to besides TC.

"Rebecca, we need to talk." Julian said.

"Julian, whatever lies you have, I don't want to hear it." Rebecca said.

"Please, just hear me out." Julian said. Rebecca gave up in arguing with him.

"Fine, I'm listening," Rebecca said in annoyance.

Meanwhile, Eve arrived at the Russell house.

"I have to set things right with Whitney, Simone, and Chad." Eve said. "I can't do this," Eve said, jerking her hand away from the doorknob. Eve took a deep breath. "It's now or never."
