Money Is No Match For Love ch. 17 Family Troubles

"Whatever you have to say, just get it over with." Rebecca said.
"I feel partly responsible for you being here." Julian said.
"Oh gee, you think so?" Rebecca asked.
"I understand you're stuck in an apartment with TC Russel." Julian said.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but he annoys me more than you do." Rebecca said. Julian was starting to get annoyed.
"I didn't come here to pick fights." Julian said.
"We have Eve to do that for us, don't we?" Rebecca said sarcastically.
"Leave Eve out of this." Julian said.
"Why? Eve is the reason you went back to Eve. Eve is the reason I found out about you and Eve by overhearing everyone argue." Rebecca said. "Oh, and let's not forget the tape."
"Rebecca, you're not even listening to me." Julian said.
"Probably because you'd rather be listening to the tape. What's the matter, Julian, three wives isn't enough for you?" Rebecca asked. "Thought you could take on a fourth?"
"That wasn't fair." Julian said.
"Oh, well, was it fair when you were going down to Bermuda to divorce Ivy so our marraige would be valid, and then you married and slept with Theresa?" Rebecca asked.
"Marrying Theresa was a huge mistake," Julian agreed. "I resent father making her the Vice President of Crane Industries."
"The one thing we still agree on." Rebecca said.
"I'm starting to think that Icy Ivy is right about Alastair having an ulterior motive." Julian said.
"And Sam and Luis think that Alastair was the one who was behind the breaks on my car being cut." Rebecca said.
"The breaks on your car were cut?" Julian asked.
"Yes, and I crashed into TC Russel." Rebecca said. "I see why you've always called TC crazy."
"Something tells me that father is involved." Julian said. Rebecca looked up and noticed that TC and Agent Freeman were searching the apartment.
"Oh no, they've realized I'm gone." Rebecca said. "How am I going to get back in? They'll know I sneaked out if they hear the door."
"Looks like we'll have to sneak you in through a window or something." Julian said.
"You have to be kidding." Rebecca said. Rebecca managed to sneak in through the window on the fire escape.
"Be careful," Julian said before leaving.
TC walked into the room just as the window closed.
"Well, well," TC said.
"TC, you can't tell Agent Freeman I sneaked out." Rebecca said.
"How could you do something that crazy?" TC asked.
"I had to get out of this apartment for a few minutes before I lost it." Rebecca said. Rebecca decided not to tell TC about seeing Julian outside.
"There's something you're not telling," TC said. Rebecca tried to figure out how to avoid telling TC and having him blab everything to Agent Freeman.
 

Eve entered the Russell house.
"What are you doin here?" Whitney asked. Eve looked at the house, which looked like a disaster.
"I've only been gone a few days and this place already looks like a disaster!" Eve said.
"Well, I'm just following the example you set for us, stranger!" Whitney said.
"What did you just call me?" Eve asked.
"You are a stranger, mother! I don't even know you, so I might as well just call Chief Bennett and have him arrest you. You know, I feel like such a hypocrite. All my life I've been trying to talk Theresa out of her fantasies when I've been fantasizing that my mother was perfect." Whitney said.
"Whitney..." Eve said.
"Whitey this, Whitney that." Whitney said. "Are you just going to say Simone.... when you find out that Simone did not come home at all this morning? After she left last night? Without calling home when I called the Bennetts, the Lopez-Fitzgeralds and she was not there? I even called Reese Durkey and Tabitha for crying out loud." Whitney said.

"Simone didn't come home?" Eve asked.

"What do I have to do? Hire a blimp to fly a banner across the sky? Simone did not come home! Thanks to you making us hate each other, maybe she never will. You know I loved my little sister more than anything, but thanks to Chad being our brother she might never get over this. Especially now that she knows everything about me and Chad." Whitney said. "We don't need to fly that banner across the sky because it's already been driven through Simone's heart."

"Whitney!" Eve asked. "What's happened to you?"

"I don't know. Oh, wait, it's all coming back to me. You having an affair with Julian Crane." Whitney said. "Now I see why daddy can't stand him, if I still had a reason to go after tennis, I would hit him with my racket." Whitney said.

"Whitney, Julian has changed!" Eve said. "Whether or not you want to believe it."

"Why should I believe anything that comes out of your damn mouth?" Whitney yelled.

"Whitney Russell!" Eve yelled.

"Am I a Russell? How do we know that daddy is my father?" Whitney yelled.

"Whitney, what's going on?" Chad asked. Chad glared when he saw Eve. "You just can't cause enough trouble, can you?"

"Chad..." Eve said.

"Chad nothing! Eve, you lied to all of us! How can you expect us to forgive you just like that?" Chad yelled. "Why don't you do all of us a favor and just get out?" Chad asked.

"Chad.." Eve said.

"Get out!" Chad said.

"You heard him, mother, get out!" Whitney yelled. Eve ducked to avoid a flying vase thrown by Whitney. Eve ran out of the house and almost collapsed in tears on the doorstep.

"Whitney!" Eve sobbed.
 

Simone awoke the next morning.

"Where am I?" Simone asked.

"You mean you don't remember me, baby?" A guy asked. Simone looked up to see a guy who looked to be about twenty, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

"Who are you?" Simone asked.

"You mean you don't remember me?" The guy asked.

"Who are you and what have you done to me?" Simone asked.

"I'm Max." Max said. "Oh, and how can you not remember what you done to me?"

"Max, you're scaring me." Simone said. Max flashed back to Simone crying to him about her parents' breakup, and taking her into a bar even though she was underaged and slipping something into her drink.

"She's got what it takes," Max remembered his friends saying. "Take her back to the house. We'll figure out what to do with her there."

"You'll remember eventually," Max said. Max crossed his fingers.
