Money Is No Match For Love ch. 23

Luis and Sam stared at Eve in shock as she told them her story.
"This is unbelievable," Luis said. Luis remembered the effect that the fog had on him and Sheridan at Theresa's party about a week ago. Seeing himself with Beth and Sheridan with Antonio had been too much. He couldn't have imagined how Eve felt after she told him about the vision that she had.

"We'll help you find Simone," Sam promised.

"I just hope we're not too late." Eve said, remembering when the teens had filled her in on the details.

"I'll have Reese come in so I can question him about what he saw." Sam said. Sam wished for Eve's sake that Reese had been exagerrating about what he saw considering all of the times that he thought Tabitha's doll was alive or thinking that a doll stole his dad's car, but he had known Reese for years and had a gut feeling that Reese would never exagerrate about something this serious.

Julian sat in his office smoking a cigar and poured himself a drink. Permanately programmed in his memory for when he was depressed, Julian reached for a copy of Eve's tape and started to put it into the tape player. As he looked at the cover, he felt as if he was experiencing the fight with Eve all over again. In a rage, Julian threw the tape across the room, and heard a crash. Julian walked over to see that he had knocked over a picture. Picking him up, he noticed that it was a picture of him and Rebecca. He remembered their argument at the apartment the other day when she had asked him if three wives wasn't enough for him. He remembered the vision that he saw during the fog at the party.
"I'm afraid to think of the rest of the consequences of that fog," Julian thought, thinking about what had happened to Simone. Julian grabbed his coat and left the mansion, wondering if he could do some damage control before any more lives were ruined.

Simone lounged on a worn out mattress as Max played his harmonica in the background and was singing about how miserable his life was.

"I live in a warehouse, the walls are all worn. The matresses are painful, and my clothes are all torn. The dope don't last through the week, but the women sure are sweet. Money comes and money goes but-" Olivia yanked the harmonica out of Max's hands.

     "Hey!" Max yelled.

"Do you allways have to sing those depressing songs?" Catrina asked.

"Yeah, you got the part about the dope not lasting all week, because we don't have any damn asprin to cure the pounding headaches you give us." Jim said.

"Give me that, Olivia," Beverly said, grabbing the harmonica.

"I knew you were on my side, Bev," Max said. "Now give it to me."

     "I'm hiding this." Bev said.

"We need some real music around here, like that album we were listening to yesterday." Tony said. "Hey, Simone, why don't you give us a tune?"

"I can't sing," Simone said. "Are you nuts?"

"If this is your mom on the cover, you're bound to be able to sing." Max said.
