A Night of Passion; Chapter 5 (Evian)
by ejcrane

Just as Eve got to her room, J.J. stopped crying and began smacking his lips and drifted off to sleep again. She sighed, but was startled when she felt lips at the back of her neck. Eve turned to see Julian. He had entered behind her and shut her bedroom door.

“Julian, no,” she moaned as she pushed on his chest, not using much force.

“Shhh, Eve,” Julian shushed her as he began kissing her cleavage.

“Julian, we can’t,” she placed her hands on his shoulders, meaning to push him away, but was totally unaware that she had been gripping his shirt and pulling him to her, “We simply…can’t,” her eyes shot open and reality set in, “NO!” she hissed as she pushed with all her might and watched Julian fly back against the door.

“Eve…”

“Get out!” she pointed to the door, “Get out now!”

“I’m, I’m sorry, Eve,” he apologized and left her room.
---

“I’m just going to drop off Abby at soccer practice, and I should be back before you know it,” she told Julian, who was still in bed, “And if Eve asks for me, give her the message, okay, dear?”

“Yes, yes, Ivy,” he rolled his eyes and pulled the cover over his head.

Ivy smiled and left.
---

Thirty minutes later Julian was awaken by a baby’s cries. He rolled over in bed and sighed.

“Coming, Abby…coming,” he said aloud.

Julian was out in the hallway, tying his robe and began walking down the hall towards Abby’s room, but stopped when he heard the cries come from the opposite end of the hallway.

“What the hell?” he shook his head, “What was I thinking?” he turned around and faced Eve’s closed door, “J.J. must be up, but where’s Eve?”

Julian walked and knocked softly on her door. She didn’t answer. He then pressed his ear to the door and heard the shower running. J.J. was still crying a bit, so Julian decided to walk in and…and…and was blown away…

Eve was completely naked and had a naked J.J. in her arms and was walking towards the bathroom when she stopped and turned towards an open mouthed Julian.

“Oh my God! Don’t you knock?!” she shouted as she held her child in front of her to cover up her front.

“I, I did, but no one answered,” Julian said slowly, “I was just going to see if J.J. was okay,” he licked his lip and took in Eve’s nude form, “But, I can clearly see that he’s fine…” Julian smiled and left her room.
---

Ten minutes later, Ivy called and informed Julian that she was going to be a little late…maybe thirty minutes late, forty-five tops. She was going to have breakfast with one of her friends from the PTA meetings.

He turned around bumped into Margaret. She was carrying J.J.

“Where are you taking him, Margaret?”

“Dr. Johnson quickly bathed him, and has asked me to give him his breakfast.”

“I see,” Julian nodded, “Well, run along now and do as you’re told.”

“Yes, sir,” she said and walked downstairs with J.J.

Julian raised a brow and smiled. No, no, he wouldn’t. Just the thought of him and Eve making love in the shower with the hot water running down their bodies…oh, Julian was beginning to feel aroused and decided to go back to his room, take a quick, cold shower and have some breakfast downstairs.
---

“Julian, stop!” she said through gritted teeth, prying his hands off of her hips, “Don’t touch me! Don’t you dare touch me after what you did last night!”

“‘After what I did last night’? What did I do?” he said, completely confused, since they really hadn’t done anything.

Eve glared at him.

“Don’t play dumb…you know you…”

“Well, hello, dear,” Ivy said merrily as she walked into the dinning room, “Good morning!” she said and then kissed Julian long and hard on the lips.

Eve turned away.

“You know, Eve…” Ivy pulled from Julian and sat next to him, “…I’m so glad you’re staying with us until the reunion.” She smiled, “I know it’s not for another four days, but it feels just like old times, and now we can all get to know each other…”

Eve smiled…weakly, and sipped her coffee.
---

“Honey, you never told me that Eve’s father and I had the same name,” Julian laughed as he pulled back the covers to his side of the bed.

Ivy stared back at him through her vanity mirror.

“What?” she laughed even louder than Julian, “E.J.’s father’s name isn’t ‘Julian’,” she chuckled and shook her head, “Where did you get that from? His name was ‘Warren’.”

Julian stared back at her while his laughter subsided.

“I don’t know, I just assumed she named J.J. after him, since she never mentioned J.J.’s father,” Julian finished.

His mind went back to when Eve confessed to him that J.J. wasn’t his, and that she named him after her father, ‘Julian Johnson’. Why would she lie? She would only make this up if she was trying to cover something up. But what…

…and then it all made sense.

J.J. was his!
---

“God, why did I have to come here?” Eve stared at the ceiling in her room while she laid down, “I thought I wouldn’t see him ever again. J.J. and I were doing fine without him. Ugh, if only Ivy had referred to him as ‘Julian’ instead of ‘Linus’,” she rolled her eyes, “What kind of name is ‘Linus’?” she laughed to herself, “‘Julian Linus Crane’,” she smiled, “Julian…” Eve said right before she drifted off to sleep.
---

Eve awoke the next morning and took in a big breath as she sat up. She turned towards J.J.’s crib, but saw that it was empty. Eve jumped out of bed and ran over to it. Where was he? Where was her baby boy?! She panicked and ran out of the room without thinking of putting on her robe.

She ran down the stairs screaming her son’s name, like he could answer her.

And that’s when she heard Julian’s voice coming from inside the library.

“Yes, and this is Daddy’s desk,” he said as he sat J.J. down on the edge with his chubby little legs dangling off the sides, “When you grow older, this’ll be your desk,” he smiled at J.J. and then looked to the door.

Eve was standing there, catching her breath.
