A Night of Passion; Chapter 9 (Evian)
by ejcrane

“A-Ab-Abigail…honey, this isn’t what it looks like,” she said as she pulled from Julian.

As soon as Julian heard his little girl’s name, he jumped up and turned around, causing Eve to slump against the cushions of the sofa.

“Abby, honey,” he tried to smile while he buttoned up his pants.

The little girl’s eyes had tears brimming in them as she glared at her father and this woman he’d been cheating with.

“I hate you, daddy!” she cried and turned and ran out.

“Abby!” Julian yelled as he ran after her.

Eve, who was still in shock that Julian’s daughter had caught them in the act, got up and followed after Julian and Abby.

“Abby, please wait,” Julian called out as he ran up the stairs.

He got to the top and kept running after his daughter, and had almost caught up to her, but failed to notice the roller skates, so Julian stepped on them, lost his balance as his foot went out in front of him and fell back, hitting his head on the end of the table, knocking him unconscious. Abby, who had just grabbed the door knob to her room, heard the crash and turned back to see her father with his head in a pool of blood. Her eyes then traveled to Eve’s widened ones.

“I-I—I killed my father?!” she asked sadly and in shock, and then fainted.

Eve watched as Abigail went down like a ton of bricks. What had they done?! Being a doctor, Eve ran towards Julian’s body first, taking notice how he was losing blood and fast.

“Oh my God, Julian…just hold on, honey, hold on,” she said as a tear streamed down her cheek, “Oh, Abby!” she said and looked towards the girl’s prone body.

Eve then screamed for Pilar. Pilar came in a matter of seconds and screamed at the sight.

“Call 911, Pilar…NOW!” she instructed her while she checked on Abby.

Just then, Ivy came in through the front door and heard their maid’s cries.

What was going on now? She rolled her eyes and jogged up the stairs, but stopped short when she saw her little girl…and…and JULIAN?!

“Oh, my God, Eve, what happened?!” Ivy rushed to Julian, “And my little girl,” she stood up and ran to Abby.

Eve just applied pressure to Julian’s head to maybe stop the bleeding, and ignored Ivy’s question. Ivy took notice of that, and wondered why Eve wasn’t telling her anything. She then took notice of her attire. Why the hell was Eve’s blouse untucked and buttoned unevenly?! AND WHY THE HELL WAS JULIAN’S SHIRT OFF?!
---

A WEEK LATER…

Julian still hadn’t woken up. Abigail had turned out to be fine; she just had a bump on her head, but Julian…

Eve never left his side, even though Ivy tried over and over to have her thrown out of his room. Eve’s first excuse was that she was the mother of his child, something that angered Ivy even more! The doctors had said that that didn’t matter, but when she claimed to be Julian’s doctor, then that’s when they backed off and allowed Eve to be at his side.

Ivy walked in and slammed the door shut! Eve took her eyes off of Julian and stared back at her best friend.

“You planned this whole thing out, didn’t you? Didn’t you?!” Ivy exclaimed.

“What are you talking about?” she asked incredulously.

“Don’t play dumb, Eve,” Ivy looked at her disgustingly and flung Eve’s underwear at her, “Did you ever notice they were missing?” she raised a brow, “You know you had always wanted Julian ever since we were teenagers…”

Eve blinked. What was Ivy talking about? But then it all made sense…

“Ivy, guess who I’m going to ask to Sadie Hawkins?” Eve said excitedly.

“Who?” Ivy asked as she pulled books from her backpack and placed them into her locker.

“Well, I don’t know his name, but he’s so cute! Wait, it’s ‘Julian’, ‘Julian’ something.” Eve smiled and laughed.

Ivy laughed as well.

“Do I know him? Maybe I know his name?” she asked as she grabbed her geometry book and shoved it in her backpack.

“Oh look! There he is,” Eve pointed him out.

Ivy turned and stared after the guy that Eve had had a crush on. She knew him. He was a senior and was in her debating class.

“Do you think he’ll say ‘yes’?”

“Uh, I,” Ivy shrugged, “I better get going, E.J., I have to get to math…” Ivy said and then left Eve standing there at her locker.
~~~
Three days later, Ivy ran up to Eve, who was now at her locker changing books.
“Oh my God, Eve, guess what?!” she screamed.
“What?” her eyes beamed with excitement, thinking that Ivy had some juicy gossip.
“I just asked ‘Linus Crane’, and he said YES!”
Linus Crane? Eve had never heard of that person, and thought nothing about it…
Until the guy she had been wanting to ask walked by.
“What’s up, Ivy?” Julian smiled and walked passed.
Eve’s smile began fading when the guy she liked told Ivy ‘hi’, but totally disappeared when she watched his back and read his last name on his letterman jacket. “Crane”.
Eve met Ivy’s face.
“Oh, and guess what? I told Tc Russell that you’d go with him!” she laughed happily.
Her mouth dropped.
“YOU WHAT?!” Eve hissed, “Why did you do that?! You know I didn’t want to go with him! You knew that I wanted to go with HIM,” she said and nodded towards Julian, “And you asked him to go? How could you? I’m not going with Tc,” Eve shook her head, “You better tell him I said ‘no’.”
“He’s not my date, you tell him no,” Ivy shrugged and turned her back to Eve as she turned the dial on her combination lock.
“But YOU TOLD HIM I’D GO WITH HIM!” Eve argued, “I did not give you permission to do that! You KNEW I didn’t want to go with him. I can’t believe you did that…”
Ivy just turned around and rolled her eyes at Eve.
“You’re sorry…” Eve said and then left to go to her class.
Eve’s eyes rose from the floor of Julian’s hospital room and met Ivy’s smirk.
“This is him,” Eve asked, unbelieving, “This…this is who I had…”
“Had had a crush on,” Ivy raised a brow, “And who I married…” she grinned, “Oh come on, Eve, you know you knew,” she rolled her eyes.
“No I didn’t,” she said, exasperated, “Wait a minute! No wonder you always called him ‘Linus’ back then…you knew that I’d find out that his name was ‘Julian’, but I never did since my family and I moved…and when we talked on the phone just before the reunion, you still called him ‘Linus’, but it had never dawned on me that you two were still together and were married…”
“Yeah…right!”
“I didn’t know…”
“How does it feel, Eve? How does it feel to know that the guy you had that secret crush on is my husband? How does it feel knowing that he made love to me after Sadie Hawkins, or after prom…” Ivy went on and on as Eve’s mind went back in time once more.
After Eve had declared that she’d never speak to her EX-best friend again, her family soon had to move, due to the need of her father’s medical expertise in another city.
But, after months of not talking, Eve decided that a boy shouldn’t come between friendship, so she made the first move and phoned her one-time friend, Ivy.
Ivy had been excited to hear from Eve and told her all about the things going on in Harmony, and even invited Eve to visit her at her house. And that was the day that changed Eve’s life forever…
A week before, Ivy had told Eve that she was going to be at cheerleading practice, but for her to help herself into her home and that she’d be there as soon as possible, and so Eve did so. Once she got there, she decided to wait in Ivy’s bedroom. Ivy’s mom had hugged her and told her how much she missed Eve, and that she had been the only one to have a good influence on her daughter. Eve smiled and finished her conversation with Ivy’s mother and went to wait upstairs in her room.
She opened the door, but was startled when someone had grabbed her around the waist and pulled her to them. She was even more surprised when this person began kissing her neck, while his hand reached under her shirt and fondled her breast. Eve knew better and should’ve screamed, but she couldn’t. All she could manage to do was moan…moan out in pleasure as his mouth claimed hers. As his tongue mingled with hers. His hot breath upon her lips, neck, cleavage…
Eve raised her hands to the back of his neck and pressed his face deeper into her chest and felt as he began lifting up her shirt.
Julian raised Eve’s hands straight up and lifted her shirt over her head and threw it behind him. He grinned, but Eve was not able to see it since the lights had been off. What was it about Ivy that drove him crazy this beautiful night? He didn’t know. Maybe it had been the sweet perfume she’d been wearing or the way her skin had felt soft against his fingertips or maybe it was her kisses? Hot, wet, sweet and…delicious!
Julian had managed to get ‘Ivy’ out of her jeans and the two made their way towards the bed where he pushed her back onto it.
Eve, who had never been with a man before, closed her eyes tight when she felt his hard member between her thighs. Oh, it was causing her to lose control! She needed him, she needed him now! And the need and desire for him increased when she felt his lips close around her hardened, aroused nipple.
Julian felt her chest heave up and down, and loved what he was doing to ‘Ivy’, so he decided to take more of her breast into his mouth and continued to suckle. And now…now it was time! Julian grabbed her hips and delved into her…
Wait a minute, he thought. Something wasn’t right. First of all, he knew when he heard her cry out, and second…Ivy had not been a virgin, that he was sure of, so then who the hell was this?!
His hands went for the lamp on Ivy’s nightstand and his eyes widened in shock when he found another woman, not Ivy, naked in front of him.
“You’re not Ivy,” he panted, “Wait, you’re…you’re her friend, the one that moved away,” he said as his eyes took in her nude form.
‘Beautiful friend,’ is what he thought.
“But why? Why didn’t you stop me…why didn’t you say anything?”
Eve turned her head away in embarrassment.
“Tell me,” Julian said as he grabbed Eve’s chin and turned her face back to his.
“Because…because…” she couldn’t finish as a tear trickled down her face.
“Don’t cry,” he wiped the tear away, “I didn’t hurt you, did I?”
Eve simply shook her head.
“Shhh, don’t cry,” his face leaned down onto her cheek and kissed the tear away.
He hadn’t known why he did that, but it was too late now. It was already done with. His thumb swept across her bottom lip as he stared into her eyes. Julian then felt as Eve’s tongue had darted out to wet her lips, but instead had dampened Julian’s finger. Julian groaned and then did something that was not preventable. His lips found Eve’s neck and went on from there.
The two had made hot quiet passionate love on Ivy’s bed. Eve had never known anything to be so pleasurable, and neither had Julian.
And for the first time, Julian had moaned out Eve’s name as he thrust into her. For the first time he praised Eve, not Ivy, for the emotions, wonderful and amazing feelings that only Eve had brought out in him…ever.
“I’m not hurting you, am I?” Julian asked, concerned as he lay on top of Eve, still intimately joined to her, thrusting at a slow pace, his chest hair rubbing against her breasts.
“No,” she whispered as she wrapped her legs around his waist, “Don’t stop…don’t stop!”
Julian then grabbed Eve behind her knee and raised her leg each time he thrust into her. His lips hovered over hers, brushing against them each time he penetrated into her…
“Say my name, Eve…say it,” he said breathlessly, “I want to hear my name come from your lips.”
“Julian…”
As soon as he heard his name, he crushed his lips to hers in a hot and lingering kiss.
The two had laid in each other’s arms afterwards, talking about what they had just done, saying how neither regretted it, when they heard Ivy’s car outside. They soon got dressed and awaited Ivy’s arrival.
Ivy then opened the door to her room ten minutes later and came face to face with Eve. She smiled and rushed to her and wrapped her arms around her.
“Eve! It’s been so long!”
Eve hesitantly hugged her back, as she watched Julian climb down the tree outside.
“Yes, yes it has,” she finally said.
The two had visited with each other for at least an hour until Eve said that she had to get going. They said their goodbyes and Eve found herself outside just about to get into her car, when someone stopped her.
She gasped!
“Julian!”
“Eve,” he groaned as he began kissing her neck.
“No, Julian…Ivy…” she shook her head, “I have to go,” she pushed on his chest.
“Go? Where?” He asked.
“Go home,” she said firmly, got into her car, and left.
In had never dawned on Eve that, that the man to take her virginity, the man she had made love with for the first time, was her best friend’s husband.
She remembered her drive home to Boston. She remembered her exact thoughts; how she couldn’t, no, she wouldn’t ever go back to Harmony, just so she wouldn’t have to face Ivy after she betrayed her, just so she wouldn’t happen to run into Julian…
But what Eve never realized was that she and Julian both lived in the same city. While she was a senior in high school, Julian was a sophomore at Harvard. He had asked Ivy about Eve once. She had never thought anything about it since the two had never met, so she figured. And after he left Ivy that day, he returned to Boston and searched for Eve, but never pursued her after he found her, for it appeared as if she was dating another guy.
Eve snapped out of her past and met Ivy’s eyes.
“Well, Ivy,” she gave her a sly look, “How does it feel knowing that I lost my virginity to your high school boyfriend?”
Ivy just stared at her for a moment and then spoke.
“I think that that’s pathetic, Eve. Pathetic…that you’re how old now? And you barely lost your virginity to my husband,” she laughed.
“No, no, Ivy dear,” Eve smiled, “I’m talking about that day I came to visit you from Boston. Do you remember that day, hmm? Well, I got to your home and spoke to your mother for a while and then went upstairs to wait for you in your room, but…I did more than just wait,” she smiled, showing her white straight teeth to Ivy, “And I wasn’t alone,” she raised a brow.
“What? What are you talking about, Eve? You’re obviously crazy!”
“No, not really. I’m just saying that Julian and I made love on your bed, as we waited for you…”
Eve was totally caught off guard for Ivy ran and jumped on her.
“You b*tch!”
“Get off of me! GET OFF OF ME!” Eve screamed.
“Not until I beat your a**!” Ivy declared as she pulled Eve’s hair.
Eve then grabbed onto Ivy’s hair and began pulling. The two could be heard down the hallway, and that’s when the nurses and security came in.
“WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!” the nurse exclaimed, “Can’t you see that Mr. Crane is in a coma?! He doesn’t need this, so I suggest you leave!”
“I’m not going anywhere!” Ivy yelled.
“Neither am I!” Eve added.
“Yes you are!” Ivy glared over at her, “I demand that you have her taken out of this room; she is nothing to my husband!”
The security guard walked over to Eve and began pulling her out of the room.
“I know the way out,” she gritted through her teeth as she yanked her arm away from the security guard and left.
“Thank you,” Ivy smiled a devious smile, “Please close the door on your way out, and make sure that Dr. Johnson doesn’t return…”
“Yes, ma’am,” they nodded and closed the door.
Her smile soon disappeared as her eyes fell upon Julian’s comatose body.
“Well, well, well, Julian,” she began, “Unfaithful to me from the beginning, hmm? Well, why don’t I share something with you too,” she patted his hand, “You see, I wasn’t so faithful myself,” she laughed, “I’ll admit that I had no clue to you and Eve in the beginning or even while she was staying in our home, but…hmm, now I know why you never got suspicious when I had those meetings. You were too busy f***ing Eve,” she hissed in his ear, “And I was too busy f***ing Sam Bennett! You know, this is his child that I’m carrying,” she laughed in his ear, “The doctors believe you can hear everything I’m saying…well, how about this other secret? Julian, Abby isn’t yours either…”
All of a sudden, the machines Julian was hooked up to went haywire, and the doctor and nurse rushed in.
“Mrs. Crane, please wait outside…” they said as they escorted her out into the hallway.
“Oh, please save my husband,” she faked a few tears.
“We’ll do everything possible,” they assured her.
Fifteen minutes went by and they got Julian situated and advised Ivy to go home and get some rest, and that they’d inform her if there should be any changes to Julian’s condition or if Dr. Johnson decided to come back. She agreed and left.
Sucking back her tears in the bathroom, Abby made her way out and climbed onto her father’s bed and spoke to him.
“You’re not my daddy?” she cried, “But you are…you are,” she sobbed and rested her cheek on his chest and felt something that gave her hope…
Her daddy squeezed her hand.
