Prologue
 

The woman eased her way into the bedroom and towards the closet door and slowly opened it, unaware of the pair of eyes watching her until the man finally spoke.

''It's about time you got home...'' she turned away from the closet and looked down at her husband who was looking into her eyes as he sat up in the bed, ''...I've been waiting for you.''

She sat down on the side of the bed next to him. ''You don't need to do that, you know? I'm a big girl. I can drive myself home, tie my shoes, dress myself...''

''It's a shame you learned that last one.''

''Oh and I was just going to show you how well I do that by changing into my nightgown,'' she said turning around looking at the closet.

''Why? You'd just be taking it off. Or I would.''

Looking back at her husband with a sexy smile, she leaned forward and brushed her lips against his. Her hands came alive and roamed his bare chest as he wrapped his arms around her pulling her closer to him. The passionate kiss broke and he brought his hands up to the top of her blouse. He started unbuttoning her and after three buttons, he saw she was wearing a black bra. 'God she is sexy in black,' he thought smiling.

With the buttons undone, he released the blouse from her body and threw it to the floor. Kissing her shoulder, he began kissing his way up her neck, as he spoke between kisses. ''I love you...and it will always be like this...forever.''

Suddenly he felt her body stiffen and grow cold. Before he could lift his head to face her, he heard her voice, ''No, it won't.''

And with a blink of his eye, it was over.......
Chad flung up in his bed. Taking a quick look around, he sighed, ''It was just a dream...'' Chad looked around the room again, now more calmly, and realized where he was, the Bed & Breakfast. He had been staying there since that day three months ago. The day his life ended. The day the got the answers to the questions he had been asking himself his whole life. Those answers rocked his world and everyone around him. And they also shattered his heart.

Looking over out the window, Chad saw the sunrise peeking through. He pushed all thoughts of past months events away as he got out of bed and walked toward the closet and opened it, along with the memory of the dream that had just woke him a few moments earlier. Her touch...her kiss...No! He slammed the door shut, along with his memories and walked to the bathroom and turned on the shower actually happy the water was cold. He stepped back and looked in the mirror, ''...and this is the nightmare.''
