“Julian, this is so amazing!” she said smiling.
“I thought you might like this Eve, I just thought it would give us a chance to be alone together with no interruptions.”

“That’s good, but what if you need to make a phone call, did you bring your cell?” she asked.

“Oh of course, I never leave home without it, but it is going to remain turned off while we are here, I told Rebecca I have business to attend to tonight, so if she tries to get a hold of me, it’s not going to happen.”

“I told T.C. I had a lot of work to do tonight so I wouldn’t be home, I guess you could say it’s convenient for me to be a doctor.” She said smiling.

“Anyway, let’s not sit out here, let’s go inside.”

“Okay.”

Julian opened the cabin door.

“After you my dear.”

“Julian, this is beautiful, we can make a fire, very nice. But do we have food or water?” she asked.

“Sweetheart, this isn’t Survivor, we have everything we need, and I took care of it. We won’t starve or dehydrate, believe me.” He said laughing.

“Well I am just checking.”

“I know Eve, you are so sweet because you are always the practical one and you worry about things like that. And I am happy about that because sometimes I do tend to live for the moment. But seriously, we will be okay, I promise.” Julian said.

“Okay, so can we make a fire? I think it would be a wise idea, we can get the place all warm and toasty.” Eve said.

“Well, to be honest, I am sure we wouldn’t need the fire for that.” He said smiling.

“Anyway, go ahead Julian.” She said sitting down in the chair.

As she sat there, she couldn’t believe how great it was to be there, he had always been full of surprises in the past. But since he had really changed, he was coming up with even more wonderful ideas. The cabin was quite cute and very cozy, just a perfect setting for spending time together.

“How’s that Eve?” he said as the flames flickered.

“Perfect Julian, I can feel it already.”

“Well I will get the champagne then.”

“Champagne?” Eve asked.

“Don’t worry dear, I just wanted to have a drink to commemorate this occasion.” Julian said.

“Oh okay, it feels like an early New Year’s.” she said laughing.

“Nothing is too good for you Eve, here sweetie.” He said pouring her a glass.

“Thanks Julian.”

“Hey, let’s sit on the floor in front of the fire.”

“Okay.”

“I will get us a blanket as well, just in case you get cold.” Julian said.

He sat down next to her and placed the blanket over her legs.

“Thank you, you are so kind to me.”

“Anything you need Eve, just ask, I want this to be really great.”

“It already is Julian, I am loving every minute of being here with you.”

He took her glass and put it next to his on the side table and sat closer to her, putting his arms around her and hugging her tightly.

“I love cuddling with you Eve, I could stay like this forever.”

“Me too Julian, it’s such a nice feeling.”

Eve really enjoyed being so close to him, she felt very safe and very much loved in his arms.

“Eve?”

“Yes Julian?”

“There is something I want to say.”

“Uh oh.”

“Oh nothing bad honey, I just wanted to say that I hope that we can have more moments like this together. I will be totally honest with you; it is very difficult not to be able to be with you all the time. I do understand that you are still married and that you have to be there for your daughters and that even if you did tell them about us, that it would most likely be a very hard time for them to go through. I know that T.C. is their father and I know that it would really upset them to find out about our past. I just hope that one day, we can tell them and that everything will work out. Sure it’s wishful thinking because I am stuck with Rebecca right now as well, but I long for the day when we can really be together. But you have my word that I will not rush anything for you and I will be very patient, and I also know that your career is most important and I respect that Eve. My feelings are so strong for you that you are all I think about.” Julian asked.

“I understand Julian, more and more everyday, I wish that I could be with you and only you. And you are right, it would be very hard on my girls and it’s a lot to deal with, it will be a shock, especially for T.C. It’s not that I want to prolong being with him, I don’t want to lead you on, I truly do want to be with you. But I do want to do it right, I really do Julian.”

“I know that and like I said I will be very patient, as hard as that is. I promise that you can count on me; I would wait forever if I had to Eve, as long as I can be with you. I truly have never loved anyone as much as I love you.” He said looking into her eyes.

“Oh Julian.”

“I mean it, I am in love with you, and you are everything to me Eve.”

“Julian, I am just amazed at how much you have changed, sometimes it feels like a dream.”

“It’s not Eve, this is who I am, I hid the true side of myself for so long, that I forgot who I was, but now that you are back in my life, I have never been happier.”

“To be honest, I have denied my feelings for you for quite some time now, I am not sure if you noticed that I did Julian.”

“Yes I did Eve, but that’s okay honey, I know how hard this has been on you with Liz and now Rebecca. I knew that you did have feelings for me, but if you had made the decision to stay with T.C., I truly would have accepted it.”

“But how could you when you love me?”

“I would do anything to make up for the past Eve, anything. And if you had decided to stay with him, then I would have been content to just hold on to the memories we had, the good ones. But I guess deep down, I was hoping in a way that you would change your mind and be with me. I don’t mean to sound selfish, but I couldn’t help but hope Eve.”

“I am sorry that I denied how I felt, it wasn’t fair to you Julian.”

“Eve, you had to discover for yourself what feelings you still had for me, as friends or more. I wasn’t going to force you to decide, I wanted you to make the decision you were comfortable with.”

“That was very selfless of you Julian.”

“Eve, when you love someone, you will do whatever it takes to make them happy, at any cost.”

“Thank you for standing by me Julian, for waiting for me.”

“I truly would wait forever, my heart belongs only to you Eve.”

“Julian, I love you so much.”

He smiled at her, he knew it was difficult for her to express a lot of what she felt, but now he could see that she was truly feeling with her heart more than her head.

“Thank you for taking me here, it has been great to just be able to talk, I appreciate it very much Julian.”

“That is exactly why I wanted this time for us, we are always getting interrupted and I knew that at least here, if there was anything that we had to say to one another, we could.”

“Well like I said, I hope that in time, this will work out.”

“It will Eve, I know it will, we just have to figure out exactly how we can be together. I know for now, it has to be this way and that’s okay with me, as long as I am spending time with you that makes me very happy.”
