“Darling?”

“Yes?” she said fanning herself; Eve was finding the heat a bit unbearable lately.

“I want to take you out tonight okay?”

“Where?”

“It’s a surprise.” He said smiling.

“Oh really?”

“Yes, so you should start getting ready soon okay?” he said looking at his watch.

“Sure if I can get out of this chair.” She said laughing.

“Sorry sweetheart.” He said helping her up.

“That’s better Julian, thanks.”

“I wish I could understand exactly how difficult this is for you.” He said taking her hands.

“Put on one of those pregnancy suits and you will know.” She said smiling.

“I feel badly in a way for Ivy you know.”

“Why?”

“Well, I wasn’t exactly the best father as you know and wasn’t really there for her during pregnancies so I missed the whole process really.”

“You weren’t there at all Julian?”

“To be honest, not really, I hate to say it, but little Julian was in command then.” He said thinking of his infidelities.

“Oh I see, well I am glad you are going to be a better father now.”

“I promise you I will be.” He said kissing her forehead.

“I think you will be a great daddy.”

“I can’t wait Eve, it will be like being one for the very first time for me, I am so excited.” He said his hazel eyes lighting up.

“Well I am going to get ready now.” She said.

“Sure love.” He said letting go of her hands.

Eve wondered what Julian was up to, she just loved his spontaneity, and she imagined it was probably something quite romantic, as he was very good at showing his love and being affectionate. When she was ready, she came down the stairs to see Julian adjusting his tie.

“Julian, how fancy is this night going to be?” Eve asked.

“Why?”

“Well you are wearing a suit, is this a fancy dinner? If it is, I better change.”

“No Eve, you look beautiful.”

“It’s just a simple dress I have on.”

“It’s perfect.” He said smiling.

“But you are wearing a suit and look so smart.”

“And you look stunning Eve, trust me, I love what you are wearing, don’t change.”

“Fine.” She said fixing a button on his shirt.

“Come on honey, let’s go.” He said, such a large grin on his face, as he opened the front door.

“What are you up to?” she questioned.

“You will just have to wait and see Eve.”

He opened the car door for her and Eve smiled when she saw a dozen roses on the seat with a card.

“Oh Julian, you shouldn’t have.”

“But I wanted to Eve, only the best for my love.” He said smiling.

Eve stood there against the car and opened the card and read it out loud.

“Dear Eve, I love you with all of my heart. There is nothing in this world that means more to me than you my love. I am proud and honored to be a part of your life. I know we are going to have many happy times together. Love always, Julian.”

“I hope you like it.”

“Oh Julian, I love you too.” She said hugging him tightly.

He looked at Eve, her hair blowing slightly in the wind, she was incredible, so beautiful and he couldn’t help but kiss her. Eve loved the warmth of his mouth upon hers, loving how affectionate he was. Julian shut the car door and they were off to their destination.

“So you aren’t going to tell me where we are going?”

“Nope.” He said simply.

Julian drove out of Harmony and Eve had to wonder where he was taking her. He soon pulled into what looked like a very classy restaurant.

“Oh Julian, this looks nice.”

“It’s Italian, I checked it out on the Internet dear, it’s supposed to be really good.”

When they went in, Eve looked around, it was a very intimate setting, low lighting, candles on the table, quite romantic. The food was excellent; Julian had picked a lovely restaurant, hoping this was just the start of a romantic evening he had planned for Eve. When they were through, they took another drive and Julian stopped and parked next to the water, which was so tranquil with the moon shining on it.

“Why don’t we take a walk or at least get out of the car Eve, it’s such a pleasant night.” He said staring at her.

“Okay Julian.”

He took her by the hand and he noticed she was shaking a little, the air being a bit cool by the water. He took off his jacket without hesitation, wrapping it around her shoulders. He watched Eve as she stared up at the stars, it seemed like every one of them was in the sky that night, very picturesque. He pushed her hair away from her neck and Eve closed her eyes as Julian placed very sweet and gentle kisses upon it. She then faced him and ran her hand through the back of his hair, how he loved her touch. He pulled her close and brought his mouth to hers, kissing Eve passionately and deeply under the stars.

“Oh Eve, how I love you, how I am blessed to have you in my life, for all of the mistakes I have made, for all of the wrongs I have caused, you Eve, are the one who has made a difference. I am such a different and changed man, a happy man to know that you have been here for me. I never thought I would live to see the day that I would have you here in my arms, pinch me because I must be dreaming.” He said his gaze becoming more intense.

“Julian.” She said touching his cheek.

“Eve, I love you with all of my heart and soul, I love you for all of time, we have made it through many hurdles and our love grows deeper with each day we spend as one.”

She looked at Julian, his expression more serious than it had ever been. He kissed her sweetly on the mouth and then got down on one knee. Julian took a small velvet box out his right pocket.

“Oh my God Julian.” She said in shock.

“I love you so much sweetheart and I have waited years to do this. Will you marry me Eve?” he said, with pure and true love in his eyes and heart.

“Julian, yes, oh yes, I will marry you.” She said a tear running down her cheek.

“Oh Eve.” He said practically picking her up in his arms.
