Schemes Of Deception - Chapter 12 (Giving In To Fantasy)

"Maybe its a good thing Rebecca decided to call it
quits at the youth center," Julian said, sorting through a pile of
books, some of them completely destroyed from Endora's
powers. "The farther away from T.C. she is the better,
besides being jealous of T.C. because he has Eve,
who knows what Crane family secrets Rebecca could
let slip out to T.C., I wanted to see her actually apply
herself to something instead of relying on blackmail for
everything but father would kill me if Rebecca leaked
out any Crane family secrets and who knows what she
might say to T.C. during an argument." Julian said. Rebecca
walked into the room.

"Maybe I over-reacted earlier," Rebecca said. "It just
sets me off when you listen to that tape because I
know you're in here thinking about Liz and when I know you're
in here thinking about another woman it
just makes me crazy, especially when she's someone as
psychotic as Liz." Rebecca said.

"Not this again," Julian thought, mentally cursing
his scheme, he was getting tired of hearing about it when he was
the one who came up with it and he couldn't wait for it to be over.
"Look, Becks, you don't have to
worry about Liz." Julian said, trying to convince her,
even though he knew she really didn't, he couldn't
stand the lunatic.

"Yeah, I do, because I'm going back to that youth
center and show Liz and T.C. that I can handle it."
Rebecca said.

"Um, good for you," Julian said. "Just please don't
say anything that would cause T.C. to rip me to
shreds," Julian thought. "Speaking of volunteer work,
why don't you volunteer to help me clean up this
disaster?"

"But I might break a nail..." Rebecca whined.

"Fine, but I guess you'll have to wait for your pookey
even longer," Julian said, pretending to
busy himself sorting through piles of books.

"Oh, alright," Rebecca said. Julian smirked, he knew
that would get her to help him.

Meanwhile, T.C. lit a few candles around the dining
room table and dimmed the lights. He led Eve in,
who was wearing a blindfold, and removed the blind fold.

"Oh, T.C! You really went all out!" Eve said.

"Hey, be careful, or I just might end up outdoing myself next time!"
T.C. said. "You know, I could do
this every night if you were home earlier," T.C
said.

"I have been trying to get less hours," Eve said.

Meanwhile, Julian was fantasizing about his steamy
past with Eve.

"Oh, I wish things could be that way again," Julian
thought longingly, flashing back to times that had
felt like magic. Julian flashed back to his memories
of the vision the night of the fog, Eve had been
a very successful singer, they were happy together
even though Alastair had disinherited him, and they
had never been seperated from their son. Thanks to
Julian's cowardness, they didn't even know who or
where their son was. Now they were with other people
even though they both wanted to be with each other.

"Pookey," Rebecca said, waving her hand in front of
Julian's face. Julian snapped out of it.

"W-what was that?" Julian asked.

"Julian, what were you thinking about just now?"
Rebecca asked.

"It doesn't matter," Julian lied, reality never making him feel more down.

"Julian, it does matter," Rebecca said. She had never
seen a look quite like that on Julian's face. Besides, if she couldn't figure
this out how was she supposed to keep Julian from getting distracted.

"Its in the past now, I can't change it," Julian said
mournfully.

"I've never seen you looking so melencholy," Rebecca
said.

"The past is in the past, I made the decisions I made
and there's nothing I can do to go back and change it," Julian said. Julian
wanted nothing more than to
be by Eve's side every night after they had finished
producing chart-topping albums at the studio, not
that the albums mattered, only the passion they shared.

"I don't think it is, Julian," Rebecca said. "You
have this look on your face like you're really longing for something."
Rebecca flashed back to laughing at the youth center as she and T.C. got
knocked to the floor attacking T.C.'s punching bag.
"Where did that come from?" Rebecca asked in surprise.

"What was that?" Julian asked.

"Oh, um, never mind," Rebecca said, unaware that she
had said it out loud. "Why am I fantasizing about T.C all of
a sudden?" Rebecca thought. Rebecca flashed
back to hanging out with T.C. for hours that night at
the youth center when he was avoiding Liz. "Why does
this keep happening?" Rebecca thought. "T.C. is a married
man, not that you ever thought about that kind of thing before-
stop it, just stop it!" Rebecca thought, mentally yelling at her
mind to get on a different train of thought. Rebecca tried to
fantasize about how hot Julian would look in that business
outfit when they played business man and intern later, but the
next thing she knew, T.C. was the one playing the business
man! Rebecca dropped a
pile of stuff she had been sorting to. "Stop it, just
stop you're going to ruin the whole plan- if you keep letting
yourself get distracted like this, you're going to wreck
everything- like how great T.C. looked in that fantasy of-"
Rebecca realized she was in
serious trouble. "T.C. is a married man, and you won't
be married to Julian any time soon if you keep letting this
happen to yourself," Rebecca thought desperately,
wondering why this kept happening to her. "Not that you've
ever worried about men being married befo- just stop!"
Rebecca thought. "Concentrate on pookey- you won't be
any good to him later if your mind is all over the place- like
thinking about another man- not just another man- T.C. Russe-"
Rebecca knew she was in trouble now. What was it about T.C.
that suddenly made her so
crazy about him?
