Schemes Of Deception - Chapter 16 (Meeting At The Diner (Evian, Chadney))

There was a knock on the door of T.C.'s shed. T.C.
opened it to find Rebecca. The two of them kissed.
"I thought I'd find you here," Rebecca said.

"Now how did you even know I'd be here?" T.C. asked.

"Well, Julian always used to talk about being
afraid to find out what was in your shed," Rebecca
said. T.C. shut the door behind him before Rebecca
could see what was inside.

"My marraige to Eve is over," T.C. said regretfully.
Rebecca looked down guiltily.

"T.C, it wasn't because of what happened earlier, was
it?" Rebecca asked. T.C. shook his head.

"No," T.C. said. "I don't know how it happened, but
lately, its like Eve and I have just became
strangers to each other."

"How did that happen?" Rebecca asked in surprise, never
expecting to hear that about the Russell's marraige.

"At first, I thought it was just because Eve was
spending so much time at work and because of Whitney's
tennis career falling apart, but something tells me
its more than that." T.C. said. T.C didn't want to
admit it to himself, but the signs were there. "I
think Eve is in love with another man."

"Same with my pookey," Rebecca said.

"Julian?" T.C. asked skeptically.

"I don't even know her name," Rebecca said. She knew
it wasn't Liz and that Julian had used Liz as a lie to
keep her from figuring out the truth, she just wished
she knew why. "I just know I can't expect Julian to go
through with the marraige especially since I've-"
Rebecca said.

"Since what?" T.C. asked. Last thing he knew, Rebecca
and Julian were crazy about each other.

"Realized I'm in love with you," Rebecca said.

"I love you too," T.C. said. T.C. and Rebecca leaned
in for a kiss.

"How do we tell Julian and Eve?" Rebecca asked.

"I don't know," T.C. said. This was going to be
harder than he thought. T.C.'s cellphone rang.
T.C. answered it. "Eve?" T.C. asked. "Yeah, I'll
meet you at the diner in half an hour. It turns out
I have something important to tell you too." T.C.
said.

Eve ended her car as Julian drove them to the diner.

"Are you sure you're ready to do this?" Julian asked.
Eve nodded. "If I'm not now, will I ever be?" Eve
asked. "Eve, you look confused." Julian commented.

"T.C. said he'd meet us there, but he had something
important he needed to tell me too." Eve said.

Eve and Julian arrived at the diner, sitting in the
booth waiting for T.C. and Rebecca to show up. Julian
had called Rebecca and asked her to meet him there
after Eve had called T.C. Eve and Julian were stunned
to see T.C. and Rebecca walk into the restaurant,
hand in hand.

"T.C. and Rebecca?" Eve thought. "How?" Eve glanced
over to Julian, knowing he was wondering the same thing.
T.C. and Rebecca sat across the booth from
them. The four of them glanced at each other uncomfortably,
wondering who was going to go first.
Eve and Julian began to tell Rebecca and T.C.

"Wow, this is a surprising twist," T.C. said.

"What do you mean?" Eve asked, surprised that T.C.
had taken it so well, usually he would have lunged
across the table and attacked Julian.

"Rebecca and I were getting ready to tell you two the
same thing," T.C. said.

Later, Julian and Rebecca and Eve and T.C. were
talking outside the diner.

"So I was right about Liz not being the other woman,"
Rebecca said.

"Rebecca, I'm sorry I lied to you about Liz," Julian
said. "I thought I could blackmail Liz into leaving
Eve alone, but it got out of hand. I should have let
this whole scheme drag out as long as it did."

"I'm just glad everything is out in the open,"
Rebecca said. "I just don't know how everything
happened so fast."

"So that's why you were always defending Julian?" T.C.
asked. "Because you were in love with him? Eve, why
didn't you tell me?"

"Because I didn't want the girls to know what my
past was like and I was afraid they'd think I lied
to them about everything and go down the same path
of self-destruction I did when I was in the music
business if they found out." Eve said.

"So that's why you sent Whitney to Los Angeles without
my permission to keep her away from Liz?" T.C.
asked. Eve nodded. "I just wish I would have known."
T.C. said. Julian had been there for Eve to try to
keep Liz from ruining her life, and here T.C. had
been using him as a punching bag. T.C. didn't know
what to think. If someone would have said that his
marraige would end like this with Eve leaving him
for Julian Crane and T.C. leaving Eve for Rebecca
Hotchkiss, he would have said they were crazy,
especially since both of them were accepting it so
well. Eve was glad this fued between T.C. and Julian
was finally over, they all knew that none of these
relationships would work if everyone was constantly
at each other's throats.

"Whitney!?" Chad yelled. "Come on, don't do this to
me!" Chad begged. "She has to be alright." Chad said.

"I think she's been drugged," Dennis, one of the managers said.

"Drugged?" Chad asked.

"I've seen it happen before," Dennis said. "Sometimes
people in the music business try to sabotage their
competition."

"But who would have done something like this to
Whitney?" Chad asked. Syd watched in the background,
a smirk on her face.

"You haven't seen anything yet, Chad." Syd thought.
Chad had rushed unconscious Whitney to the hospital
to make sure she was alright, when he ran into
Puff Dog. Chad let Puff Dog have it.

"You did this to her!" Chad yelled.

"Did what to who?" Puff Dog asked, not knowing what
was going on.

"You had Whitney drugged! You bastard, I'll kill you!"
Chad yelled. "I warned you not to go near her!"

"But I didn't go near her!" Puff Dog said in
confusion.

"I'd stop lying unless you want to be hooked up to
one of those machines like Fox!" Chad yelled.

"Alright, both of you- just stop this!" Theresa
said, trying to intervene.

"Stay out of this, Theresa," Chad said. "Trust me,
you don't want to get involved!"

"Involved in what?" Theresa asked.

"Puff Dog had Whitney drugged to sabotage her
audition!" Chad yelled.

"I don't even know what anyone is talking about!" Puff
Dog said.
