Chapter Seven

Dear Diary,

Why must we leave things so unfinished? Now, it’s always sister against sister. Like were in some grand fight, battling out our family’s affections. Who’s more trusting, more brave, more worthy of love. Whitney or me? Who knows anymore? I don’t, sometimes I want things the way they were before, but who can go back after all this crap? Today, Whitney said she wanted her sister back. Well, I do too! Yet, my pain, my anger, and my emotions still control me. I know, that what I said to her today hurt. But I don’t take it back, not one word.

I couldn’t help my crush on Chad and I can’t help my feeling towards my sister now. I can’t deny who I am, like Mom can’t deny growing up in a privileged society. It’s like lying to yourself, and who wants to do that? So, today it was blood against blood, formed sister pitted against former sister! With no one in between, us to keep score. Right now, it’s just the way things have to be. I’m not going to deny that I don’t miss Whitney but I just want her to know the error in her ways. And that no one plays with my emotions, not even blood. I’m not bowing down, acting like everything’s okay; it’s just not me. I’m not going to act phony, when I feel so betrayal.

No, I want justice for my pain! These past couple of months have been extremely rough on me lately and despite all of my tears, still Whitney remains the same, selfish and unforgivable. All of the trust, love and respect for my sister was all taken away from me this year. So, I say if Whitney ever wants to renew my faith and trust in her to be sisters again. Real sisters! Then she’s going to have to do a lot more pleading and fight for the right to be my sister once more. Till then, let the real battle for trust, love and
sisterhood. . .begin!

Simone

P.S. It’s only the beginning. . .

That night, after Simone wrote out her aggressions in her private journal. She and Kay chatted for a while, she listened to Kay go on and on about winning back Miguel for good and what a crazy plan she had. Then Simone told her about her run in with Whitney and how she didn’t know if they could find some common ground anymore. Kay told her to forget her sister and that just like how she and Charity both have eyes for Miguel it’s now a battlefield to win his love. She told her, that Whitney didn’t matter, only what she wanted counted. Simone just listened and had to admit that Kay was right. Only what she wanted and needed right now in her life really matter, forget Whitney. After their chat, Simone finally went to bed she thought that maybe tomorrow would be a better day to deal with things.

The next thing, that Simone knew she woke up and went towards the bathroom, attempting her best to open her eyes and not bump into the wall. As she turned on the bathroom light, when she heard Kay call out her name.
“What is it, Kay?” she replied sleepy tone.
“Are you ready?” “Everyone’s waiting for you!”
“Huh?” “Who?” Simone asked.
“Come on, you don’t want to be late.” Kay said pushing her through the door.
“What are you talking about, Kay?” Simone asked. “Who’s waiting for me?”

Soon, Simone saw a flashing light appear. She closed her eyes and then glanced around and noticed she was now in a boxing ring. She then looked down at her clothes; her pajamas were now replaced with a flashy purple boxing outfit. “Kay, what’s going on?” “Why am I here and what happened to my pajamas?” she asked worried.
“Come on, Simone stop kidding around and get in there!” Kay replies.
“In where?” Simone asked scared.
“The ring, duh!” “Simone, have you been taking Antonio’s stupid pills or something?” Kay asked.
“What?” Simone said confused looking at her friend.
“Nevermind, go in there!” Kay demanded.
“I’m not going anywhere, near that place!” Simone replies trying to get out.
“Simone, stop it okay.” “Now, you wanted this remember?” “Now go and fight!” Kay responded grabbing her by the shoulders.
“No!” “I’m not going anywhere Kay, I’m not fighting anyone!”
“Come on, it’s starting!” Kay said.
“What?” Simone replies turning around in the ring.

Soon, Simone stops dead in her tracks. As the lights are lowered and you hear an announcer’s voice. “Alright, ladies and gentlemen, the moment we’ve all been waiting for. .” “In one corner, we have a young woman standing at 5’4 with a feisty attitude and tiresome betrayal!” “Give it a hand for Simone Russell!” The crowd goes wild . . . “And in this corner standing at 5’6 with a wimpy-doubtful disposition, her betrayaler!” “Give me a hand for Whitney Russell!” The crowd goes crazy! So, here it is the battle you’ve been waiting for Sister against Sister! The Russell daughters battle it out for respect, the title ship, bragging rights and much more!

The first bell then rings, “Okay, Simone.” “Remember, what I told you focus on Whitney and how she made you feel!” “Remember, it’s all about you!” Kay said putting her mouthpiece in. On other side of the ring, stood Whitney dressed in a red boxing outfit. As Chad appeared, of all people he was her coach. “Come on, Whitney.” he told her. “Babe, you’ve got to do this for us, for our love!” “Fight, for our love!” The bell rings again, and signals for the fight to begin.

Soon, both sisters enter the center of the ring. Just glancing at each other like was this really going to happen; when out of the mists appears TC dressed in a black and white referee’s outfit. He steps between them and says, “Alright girls, Sugar bear, Whit!” “Show me a clean fight!”
Simone looked at him like he was crazy and was about to say something when the final bell ringed. Her focus was now shifted to what was in front of her and that was Whitney. Her mode was to fight now, and she didn’t care about anything else, her anger controlled her. As Whitney stood there bravely in her little boxer’s pose, she cautiously took the first punch. She ended up hitting Simone’s shoulder slightly, as Simone returned with a quick left jab to her neck!

The fight had begun with all of Harmony’s residents watching below. Before, Simone knew it two rounds had passed and she was up by ten points against her sister. Her anger made her fight extremely better and much harder than Whitney’s wimpy jabs. Simone definitely had her father’s temper when it came to fighting. As the third and final bell ringed for the next round, the two sisters stood up again to do battle. They both began jabbing at one another, Simone already fired up and Whitney finally getting a backbone, she was getting tired of Simone’s stubbornness.

Soon, as they are fighting, someone comes busting through the entrance doors it was no other than Eve. Trying her best to make her way through the crowds of people. Finally, she reached the ring; to her horrified shock of seeing her daughters fight! “Girls!” “Girls!” “What is wrong with you two?” “Stop it, I said Stop!” “I want you both to stop fighting this instinct!” she yells continuely.

Eve soon becomes breathless and tired with her pleads. She then saw TC and demanded that he make them stop. But TC just raised his hands up in the air and shrugged as to say what do you want me to do! Eve mortified by the scene then continued to demand they stop, saying someone could get hurt. Her pleads then turned to sobs as she begged for them to stop. She even became so; upset she even climbed up on the ropes! She yelled and begged for the fight to end, till it seemed her voice would give out. That’s when Simone threw her last punch of the night, right across Whitney’s chin! The kid had wicked skills and a mean left hook . . .

She completely knocked Whitney out cold. She was down for the count, out like a light! As TC, raised her arm up to announce her the winner! Eve screamed in horror watching the scene unfold, soon Chad ran over to Whitney begging her to wake up, he then picked her up off the floor and began carrying her out the doors of the ring. While, Eve quickly followed crying crazily with her medical bag in tote. “The Winner!” the announcer said as Simone was crowned the champ and receive her boxing belt.

The next thing, Simone knew everyone was chanting her name over and over. “Simone, Simone, Simone!” Soon she jumped up, now hovering over her was Kay. Who had been calling her name, Simone looked around and realized that she was still in bed. Breathing heavily, her body moistened with sweat. It took her a moment to collect herself; her dream seemed so real she couldn’t decide whether or not it was a nightmare or what! Everything appeared so fresh and vivid in her mind like she was there hearing and feeling everything around her. She felt herself jabbing towards Whitney’s head and heard her mother’s screams. She was very shaken up by all of it.
“What. .what’s going on Kay?” she asked still looking around.
“You were tossing and turning in your sleep!” Kay said going back to bed.
“But weren’t you just at the fight?” Simone asked bewildered.
“Huh?” “What fight?” “Simone you were dreaming!”
“I was?” Simone replied. “I was dreaming!”

The next morning, we find one of our newest characters Gabe sitted in the college’s local dining hall. He sat eating one of his favorite sugar coated cereals listening to the sounds of Jimmie Hendrix blasting in his ears. Every couple of minutes, his eyes would dart pass to the doors entrance secretly he was hoping to catch the eye of a girl he had seen the previous week. But for now, he sat enjoying his music as he scribbled drawings in his private notebook. As his thoughts began wondered, he didn’t even notice that his sister, Blair was calling on his cell phone. Finally, getting out of his own thoughts he felt his phone vibrate.

He quickly answered seeing her call, “Hey!” he answers.
“Hi, I thought that you’d never answer.” Blair replies.
“Oh, sorry.” “I had my headphones on.” “So, what’s going on with you?” he asks.
“Nothing, really.” “I just had a bit of time of my hands and thought that I’d give you a call.” Blair responds. “So, how’s the dorm?”
“It’s okay, the people are nice.”
“You mean square right?” Blair replies.
“No, I’m not like you Blair.” “I call them nice.” he says with a laugh.
“Whatever.” Blair said with a smile.

“So, enough with the little chit chat, next you’ll be asking me about the weather.” Gabe states. “How are you really doing?” he asks in a serious tone.
“Oh, you mean about my little old shattered heart!” Blair says in her best southern accent. “Well, I’m fine. .really.”
“Hmm,” Gabe responds making a face as he takes a sip of orange juice.
“Oh, hold on a sec!” Blair tells him.
“Alright,” Gabe says going back to drawing.

Soon in the background, you overhear Blair talking to the help.
“No, I wanted low fat milk in my coffee!” “NOT fat free!” “Are you trying to kill me?” she yells. “Now, could you take it back again.”
“Sorry, I’m back!” she says back on the receiver in a calmer tone.
“Well, I see that you’re still giving the servants a hard time.” Gabe says.
“Gabe, you know how I am about my milk.” “I could die if I don’t get my milk just right in my coffee.” Blair states.
“Oh yes, I know milk does a body good.” Gabe quotes. “And now Ladies and Gentlemen, I’d like to introduce Blair Carrington the diva of the new millennium!” “Let’s give her a hand!” he says jokily.
“Gabriel, stop messing with me.” Blair begged.

“Okay, but you’ve got to stop being so mean to the maid, alright.” “She has rights Blair and she’s not there to tend to you hand and foot on a silver platter!” he warns.
“Alright okay,” Blair responds rolling her eyes as she flipped through a magazine.
“Blair, listen to me we’ve only been here about I guess three weeks and you’ve already ran away three different staff members since we’ve got to Harmony!” “People deserve respect Blair and you’re a little hard to deal with.”
“Okay, counselor!” “You’ve proved your point.” “Now, if you aren’t going to convict me then I have favor to ask.” she states.
“Okay, what is it?” Gabe asks taking a deep breath.
“Look, Mom is around here driving me crazy with all her decorating.” “She’s even started on my pool house and so I really need to get away and I was thinking of coming up for a visit,” she announces.

“Well, you can come if you want to.” “But I don’t know why though, this place is just like there except you’ve got maids to wait on you!” Gabe responds glancing around.
“Well, you are stuck there because of Mom and Dad.” “I just wanted to stop by.” Blair replies. “So, okay when’s good for you then?” she asks.
“Anytime, Blair.” Gabe says looking at his watch. “Um, after my classes I guess around three then.”
“Okay, I’ll meet you at the town square.” Blair says.
“Alright, Blair Bear I’ve gotta go my roommate wants me to meet him after class.” Gabe says.
“Okay, bye little bear!” Blair says happily.
“Later.” Gabe replies.

Meanwhile, across town nestled on top of Raven Hill sits the Crane Mansion where we find Julian Crane appeared in his study drinking his morning brandy. As he listens to the smooth sounds of a great lover forever gone in his life but never far from his heart. At the moment, he was sprawled out on his leather couch trapped in a time portal of his hey day with the lovely Eve Johnson. His past love, he imagined himself holding her in his arms, remembering her scent and how it felt to touch her skin. Just then, as he was imagining himself lingering in for a deep kiss the phone rings. Snapping him back into reality, he quickly jumps up off the couch.

“What!” “Who the hell is it?” he yells on the phone receiver.
“My, my listen to your bedside manner Julian!” “No wonder Ivy couldn’t stand to be in the same bed as you!” “Oh, Father.” Julian says straightening his tie.
“Yes, it’s me Julian.” Alistair says.
“I was, I mean. .I’m.” Julian stammers.
“Save it, I’ll get to the point.” “Have you seen today’s Harmony Herald?”
“What?” “No, Father I haven’t.”
“Well, read it.” “Turn to page six!” Alistair demands.

Julian scrambles to find the page, reaching for the paper. He glances at the headline and scrolls down throughout the article. “Father, it is true?” he asks.
“Apparently, so.” he replies.
“But, Lane’s back. .here!” Julian states.
“Couldn’t believe it myself.” “And Julian you know what all this means don’t you?” Alistair says.

“You’re to steer clear of him, you here me!” “Do not get involved with him.”
“But Father?”
“Did you hear me, steer clear of that traitor!” “He’s an abandoner, a coward, much like yourself on a good day!”
“Yes, Father.” Julian says.
“Oh and Julian. .”
“Yes, Father.” Julian replies trying to process everything in.
“Cut off that damn record. . .” Alistair says.
