Three Months Later

Julian Crane paced in his bedroom, For months he had been fighting the thoughts in his head, each day finding them harder to forget. The possibilities of what might be weren’t bad, yet at the same time, lives would change forever.

Julian walked into the smoky room and smiled as a familiar face appeared.
"Lily." He said walking toward the woman.
"Crane, I told you I never wanted to see you again." She frowned looking at him with nothing but anger.
Looking down he saw a little boy playing. "That kid, how old is he?" Julian asked feeling nervous.
"He’s three." The woman said looking at Julian. "He’s none of your concern."
"He’s small for a three year old isn’t he?" Julian pondered.
"How much do you know about kid’s? Like I said the boy is three."
"Then why didn’t I know about him when I saw you last?"
The woman rolled her eyes. "Like I’d tell you anything about my life Crane. You already messed me up once, I told you I’d never let that happen again."
"Yet you came to be again a couple years ago, must be my charm." He purred.
"Or my insanity." She spewed at him. "We had our fun, its over. Now do both of us a favor and go find another play toy."
"Awww Lily doesn’t wanta play anymore?" Julian said pouting.
"And stop calling me Lily, I hate that nickname." She screamed grabbing the little boy and heading out of the night club.

"He wasn’t three, he was two." Julian swallowed. "Justin was two when I saw him."
"Julian are you talking to yourself again?" Ivy asked walking into the bedroom.
He looked up at his wife. "Ivy sit down, we need to talk." He said a frown falling on his face.

Gwen stood staring in her full length mirror her hair was in a messy ponytail and she was wearing her favorite jeans. "I’m a mess." She sighed. "I’m a total mess."
"Why is that?" A voice called out.
Startled she turned around, a smile danced across her face as her eyes met his. "Miguel."
"That would be me!" He laughed. "And you’re not a mess, you look terrific."
"You think?" She asked looking in the mirror.
"I know." He grinned walking over to her. "What I see here is a beautiful woman."
Staring at Miguel in his Khaki pants and blue shirt she smiled, gazing up at his eyes, he now wore small round glasses, strangely enough they became him. He sported a mature goatee as well, that being Gwen’s idea of course.
"Why do you stick around?" She suddenly asked lowering her head.
"What kind of question is that?" He laughed.
"I haven’t promised you anything, I’m scared of commitments, I’m older than you, and you could do much better in the looks department."
Miguel shook his head. "Someone’s having a off day."
"I’m serious." She frowned.
"Gwen, I care about you. That’s why I stick around. I have fun with you, I just love being around you, and as far as looks go, you’re a total knock out."
"I just feel so dull and old." She complained.
Miguel looked at her touching her face with his hand. "Tomorrow is your birthday isn’t it?"
She bobbed her head up and down. "Yes and I’m old!"
"You’re not old Gwen!"
"I’ll be Twenty Nine years old Miguel! You know what that means?"
"It doesn’t mean anything! Stop overreacting."
Gwen sat down on her bed and let out a heavy sigh. "I just feel like my life is slipping away from me. When I was younger I had it planned out, I’d get married when I was Twenty One, have the first of my two kids when I was Twenty Four and the second when I turned Twenty Seven. Miguel I’m almost Thirty years old and nothing is going as planned."
Miguel smiled. "Well thank goodness for that."
"Thank goodness? What are you talking about?" Gwen shrieked. "My life plan has been ruined Miguel."
"Yeah, and I’m glad. Think about it Gwen, if your life had of worked out as planned, you’d be married to Ethan right?"
"Well I suppose." She said looking at him.
"And we’d never started dating. So you see, I’m glad things didn’t go as planned. You will have a family Gwen, but you can’t map out your life, you just have to let it happen." He explained sitting down beside her.
She touched his hand and smiled. "I never thought about it like that."
"See that’s what I’m here for." Miguel laughed.
"So I’ll really get that family I want?" She questioned.
Miguel nodded his head, "When you feel you’re ready for a commitment everything will fall in place. "
"I don’t deserve you, you know that right?" She questioned.
"Actually I think you do, because personally I believe it was in the master plan all along." He grinned.
Gwen moved closer to Miguel kissing his lips. "You just might be right about that." She whispered.
Miguel looked at her and smiled, he was right, he’d just have to wait until she realized it for herself.

"Ethan we have to tell them." Beth said looking in the eyes of the man in front of her.
"We will, tonight I promise." Ethan smiled taking her hands. "How do you think they’ll react?" He questioned a smirk on his face.
"Which family? Your dad’s or mom’s?" She laughed.
"Let’s go with Mom’s. " He said kissing her nose.
"I’m actually afraid to find out." She admitted. "I mean its going to shock them all!"
"But everyone is so happy right now, it’s the perfect time ya know?" He told her as they walked toward the Book Café.
"This has been the best three months of my life Bennett." She said squeezing his hand tightly.
Mine too, and the most interesting."
Entering the Book Café Ethan smiled. "I love you, you know that right."
"Well I should hope so." She laughed.
"Don’t worry Mrs. Bennett everything is going to work out I promise."

Theresa walked into Chad’s club and smiled looking at a table that sat in the middle of the room. She saw roses everywhere, yellow roses on the table, single red roses sitting all around the room. Candles sat on the table she was looking at, and a note, a note attached to the roses.
Realizing the club was empty she couldn’t help but grin as she picked up the note.

Theresa,
Today is your day sweetheart! The kids are with Grace, and I have reserved the whole day for you. With everything you’ve been through you’ve somehow forgot about yourself, but I haven’t. I love you more each day and I want you to know that. I have watched you grow into a strong beautiful woman, and I am so proud of you.

Love you always,
Chad

"Oh my gosh!" She cried out, wiping tears from her eyes.
"So I gather that you approve?" Chad voice echoed as he walked out of the back room.
"Chad!" She smiled running over to him. "I can’t believe you did all of this."
He smiled. "You deserve it Resa."
"I love you so much!" She cried wrapping her arms around him.
"Easy girl, the fun has just started." He laughed taking her hand.
"Fun? I’m not sure I remember what fun is." She joked. "Unless of course you consider board games, playing dolls and building blocks fun."
"Do you remember grown up fun?" Chad smiled. "Dancing? A conversation with out kids yelling in the background?"
She thought of a second. "Those things don’t sound familiar."
"Well then, its time to change that." He smiled.
"Chad you didn’t have to do all this, just knowing you’re there is enough for me." She said her heart filled with more love than she had never thought possible. Years of praying for someone to care about her had paid off, because the man in front of her was amazing.
"Girl haven’t you figured it out by now? I’d do anything for you." Chad said kissing her softly, pulling away he looked at her. "You deserve so much, and I just want to give you at least something."
"I don’t know why you love me, but I’m glad you do." She said with a grin.
"Well in that case how about a dance beautiful?" Chad asked as soft music began to play.
Smiling Theresa nodded her head. "Lead the way."
