Swept Away, Chapter 14 (Evian)
by ejcrane

A week after that was the annual dance for the elementary school. Both Julian and Eve had volunteered to be a chaperone for the hundreds of students that attended. And of course, both Tc and Tracy were a chaperone there as well.

Julian was at the punch bowl serving him a cup when he saw Eve enter. She was beautiful. Eve was wearing a black knee length short sleeved black dress that hugged her perfectly in all the right spots. He couldn’t stop thinking about their morning together. Julian wondered how Eve would react to him now. Eve looked around the community center and locked eyes with Julian. He nodded and smiled back to her. She returned that smile and then walked to where her husband was standing.

Later, Eve stood back and watched as Julian and Tracy danced to a couple of songs. She also noticed how Julian watched her and Tc dance.

Hours later, Eve found herself walking around outside. The music could still be heard from inside. Julian had watched as Eve slipped out the door and soon followed her. Tracy and Tc were too busy to even notice their spouses missing.

Julian cleared his throat. Eve suddenly turned around.

“Julian, what are you doing out here?” she asked as her arms crossed in front of her.

Her hands then began moving up and down her arms.

“Are you cold?” he asked as he took off his sports coat and slipped it on her.

“Thank you,” she smiled as she held onto it to keep it from falling off.

They stood there, quiet in the night until another song came on. The intro was playing and that’s when Julian faced Eve…

“Dance with me, please?” he held his hand out to her.

“Julian,” she began shaking her head, “I don’t think that’s such a good…”

He ignored her and pulled her into his arms.

“I believe in you and me
I believe that we will be
In love eternally…”

Eve’s hands rested against Julian’s chest as he held onto her.

“Put your arms around me, Eve,” he requested of her.

She looked into his eyes, and then did as he said.

“Well as far as I can see
You will always be the one
For me
Oh yes you will ,boy

And I believe in dreams again
I believe that love will never end
And like the river finds the sea
I was lost, now I'm free
'Cause I believe in you and me

I will never leave your side
I will never hurt your pride
When all the chips are down baby
See now I'll always be around
Just to be right where you are
My love, you know I love you boy

I will never leave you out
I will always let you in boy, oh baby
To places no one's ever been
Deep inside, can't you see
That I believe in you and me…”

Her cheek rested against his as they swayed back and forth together. His hands reached inside his jacket and caressed her bare back. Eve’s hand then rose to Julian’s neck, and began running her fingers through his hair as she closed her eyes…

“Maybe I'm a fool
To feel the way I do
I will play the fool forever
Just to be with you forever…”

Julian then pulled from her. Eve finally opened her eyes to see that Julian was staring back at her. She was so drunk with passion feeling him this close to her; smelling his cologne…having his arms around her.

“I believe in miracles
And love's a miracle…”

Julian then leaned forward before Eve could do anything, and captured her lips with his…

“And yes, baby you're my dream come true

I was lost, now I'm free
Oh baby 'cause I believe, I do
Believe in you and me
See I was lost, now I'm free
'Cause I believe in you and me

Believe in you and me”

As the music ended, Eve pulled her lips from Julian’s.

“No, Julian, no,” she shook her head as she held her hands to his chest, and as he kissed her cheek, and then the side of her head.

“You smell so good, Eve,” his lips and tongue found her neck.

“Julian, please…we can’t…”

“Don’t say that, Eve,” he pulled her closed to him, “In fact, don’t say anything at all,” his fingers found the zipper at the back of her dress and zipped it down.

“Julian! What are you doing?!” she began squirming in his arms.

The jacket she’d been wearing fell off. Julian backed her up against the side of the building where there were bushes…

“I’m just keeping you warm,” he smiled as he placed his hands on her shoulders and pulled the top half of her dress down.

Julian then leaned down and began kissing her neck again and then trailed his lips down and stopped just as he reached her clavicle…her hands reached for his shirt and pulled it out of his pants.

“Julian, no…I’m married,” she sniffed, “And so are you,” Eve pushed him from her and pulled her dress back up.

She turned her back to him and reached for the zipper to zip it back up and that’s when she felt that Julian had done it for her.

“Thank you,” she whispered, “I better go back inside,” she handed him back his coat and thanked him again, before turning from him and walking back into the building.

Julian stared after her. Why couldn’t he and Eve just forget everything and be together; the way they used to be? He then realized something. Eve had never mentioned anything about them. When they had made love that morning in the bed she shared with Tc. Yes, she was sick that morning, but she knew what she and Julian were doing, that he was sure of. She wanted him as much as he had wanted her…

Julian guessed that their love making hadn’t meant much to her, considering how she never even mentioned it…

Julian cleared his throat and then began walking back inside. He stopped and cleared his throat again; there had seemed to be something stuck or his throat was just scratchy. Finally after he coughed a bit, everything cleared up…
---

Two days later, Julian was in bed with what J.J. and Eve had, and he knew how he got it. He smiled as his head pounded, remembering every second of his time with Eve; his bare body against Eve’s bare body. And then a spell of nausea came over his body. Julian turned on his side and tucked his knees to his chest as he tried to overcome that horrible feeling in his stomach.
---

The kids had been over at the mansion the day Julian was ill, and had to return home since Julian didn’t want any of them to catch what he had. Eve had wondered if he’d been to the doctor’s, but when she thought about it, she realized that he probably hadn’t, since Julian never liked to go to the doctor while they were married. She had always taken care of him…

Eve then decided to check in on Julian during her lunch hour. Tracy wouldn’t be there, so she didn’t have to worry about running into her.
---

Pilar opened the door to Eve and smiled.

“Señora!” she hugged her.

“Hi, Pilar, it’s nice to see you,” Eve hugged her back, and then pulled from her, “It’s been a while, hasn’t it?”

Pilar just nodded.

“And…Julian?” Eve asked, “How’s he doing?”

“Muy mal; he’s very sick,” she shook her head sadly.

“Well, I’m going to go up and see him, is that alright?”

“Si, si…” Pilar waved her hand, insinuating for Eve to go up and see Julian.

Eve walked up the stairs and walked to Julian’s bedroom. Her hand reached for the knob, but it had been locked. She found that strange. Why would he lock it when he’s sick? She then heard moaning coming from down the hallway. It had been a man’s moaning. Eve followed it and entered the room. Julian was lying on his back unconscious and moaning out in agony. Why was Julian in this room? He changed bedrooms? Eve smiled. It was kind of sweet that he didn’t share their bedroom with his new wife…

“Julian?”

Eve could see his eyes brows wrinkle in wonder.

“Eve?”

“Yes, Julian, it’s me…how are you?” she sat down on the bed and brought her hand up to his forehead.

“Better,” he licked his lips, “Now that you’re here,” he raised his hand to her cheek and stroked it with his knuckles, “You always made me feel a hundred times better…” he smiled, “…just your presence,” he whispered as he closed his eyes.

Tears shown in her eyes. She clasped his hand and brought it to her lips.

“Julian, don’t talk like that. Just rest.”

Eve began to get up when Julian stopped her.

“No,” he whispered, “Don’t go,” he placed his hand over hers.

“Julian, I can’t stay here,” she replied, “What if Tracy should come home…”

Eve’s words and thoughts shut off as Julian’s hand crept in underneath her skirt.

“Stay!” he squeezed her thigh, “Make love to me, please,” he begged of her.

His hand slid further up under her skirt.

“Julian…” she moaned.

“Don’t deny what you’re feeling; what we are both feeling for each other, Eve. We’ve done it for far too long now…please, Eve?”

Eve looked down. She was tired of denying her feelings for Julian. He was right! They had gone too long like this. She had missed him so much. But if they did cross the line; where would they go from there? Should she take the chance and feel love again? Or should she do what was right and stay faithful to her husband?
