Swept Away, Chapter 18 (Evian)
by ejcrane

(Answer to Maverick's question: No, Evangeline is not the one they refer to as "Evil", that's Evelyn:)

SIX WEEKS LATER…

It had been the strangest thing. Tc gave up his heart right before he died, not knowing if it would work for little Evangeline, and it did! It was a miracle that Eve and Julian needed to save their daughter. BUT…that miracle didn’t last too long when complications started erupting.

Evangeline was rushed to the hospital one day when she began experiencing chest pains and labored breathing.

Eve and Julian and the children were beside themselves.

“Ohh, Julian, why is this happening?” she cried in his arms, “This shouldn’t be happening to our little girl…”

“Shh, Eve, I know, darling, I know…” he comforted her.

“If anything, it should’ve happened to Evelyn…not Evangeline…”

Julian pulled from Eve and gave her an appalled look.

“WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST SAY?!” Julian shouted.

Eve looked down when she realized what she had just said, and then the two looked behind them when they suddenly heard a whimper. Evelyn was standing there and heard what her mother said about her.

“Ohh, Evelyn baby…” Eve knelt and tried to pull her daughter into her arms.

“NO, LET ME GO! GET AWAY FROM ME!” she cried and ran away from them.

“Eve, how could you?!” Julian spit out and ran after his other daughter.

“Oh my God, what did I just do?” Eve sat down and cried into her hands.
---

Thirty minutes later, Julian and Eve were still searching the hospital for Evelyn, but she was nowhere to be found.
---

“They hate me sis,” Evelyn confessed to her sister.

After she ran away from her parents, she found herself in her sister’s hospital room. Evangeline had looked towards the door when it had opened and waved for her sister to join her, so Evelyn walked and climbed into the bed beside her sister.

“They don’t hate you, Evie,” she looked to her, “They’re just worried…”

“But mom said that I should’ve been the one to be sick, not you,” tears ran down her face, “She probably said that because she thinks I’m mean and needs to die,” she sniffed.

“No, no, mom’s just worried,” Evangeline grabbed her sister’s hand and held it, “When people worry, they say things they don’t mean, okay?”

Evelyn nodded and wiped away her tears.

“Now, I’m going to take a nap,” she inhaled, “I’m tired…stay with me?”

“Always,” Evelyn said and kissed her sister’s cheek.
---

Julian called Eve on her cell phone and told her that he’d continue to search for Evelyn, and for her to go check in on Evangeline. She agreed, and that’s when she found her two babies sleeping soundly beside each other. Eve smiled…they were holding hands.

Eve then informed Julian that she found Evelyn.

She walked over to the bed and bent down and placed a kiss on both of her daughter’s foreheads.

“I’m sorry, baby,” she smoothed over Evelyn’s hair.

Evelyn woke.

“Mom?” she inhaled.

“Honey, I’m so sorry,” she hugged her, “I didn’t mean what I said…I wasn’t thinking when I said what I did.” Eve pulled away, “Please forgive me.”

Evelyn smiled and then nodded.

“I forgive you, mommy…just don’t say that again, please,” tears escaped her eyes, “I don’t want you or daddy to hate me.”

Eve’s face saddened. Had she really made her daughter feel this way?

“No, no, Evelyn, I won’t ever say anything like that again, darling…I don’t hate you, precious,” she pulled her daughter to her and hugged her tightly, “I love you so much!”

Just then, Julian walked in and saw his wife hugging their oldest daughter. He smiled.

“Daddy!” Evelyn cheered and woke up her sister.

“Hi, how are my two angels?” He smiled and walked to the bed and caressed his daughter’s cheeks.

Julian gave Eve a hard look as he sat down beside her. She knew why he had looked at her that way…
---

Later that week, Evangeline’s tests came back and she now had a positive outcome, and was able to go home…to the mansion. Julian argued with Eve over and over again, and demanded that his daughter stay at the mansion where she would be waited on hand and foot with the special needs that she required. After Julian had brought to her attention that she couldn’t just quit working at the hospital to look over Evangeline, Eve simply agreed to Julian’s proposition.
---

After work, Eve dropped by the mansion to visit her daughter. Evangeline seemed to be getting better.

“Okay, sweetie,” she touched her daughter’s cheek, “I’ll see you tomorrow, okay? And I’ll call you at lunchtime.” Eve smiled, “I love you,” Eve kissed the side of Evangeline’s head.

“I love you too, mommy…tell, J.J., Julius, and Evelyn that I said, ‘Hi’, okay?”

“I will…bye,” she caressed Evangeline’s chin and then got up and left the room.

Just as she closed the door to the room, Julian stepped into view.

“Julian,” Eve smiled, “She looks better…”

“Yes, she does,” Julian nodded.

The two stayed staring at each other for a few seconds before Julian broke the silence.

“Eve, I want to show you something…”

“Wh-what?” she asked suspiciously.

“Something…” he grabbed her hand and led her to a locked door.

Once inside, Eve looked to Julian.

“Julian? What are we doing in here?” she looked down and shook her head.

“You know what we’re doing in here,” he lifted her chin and pinned her up against the closed door.

Eve was about to reject Julian’s advances, but stopped when she felt his hands on her breasts. She looked down and saw that he was unbuttoning her blouse and now undoing her bra! Julian’s hands had covered her breasts. His fingers ran over her sensitive nipples. Eve was stuck; she was motionless as Julian bent down and placed his mouth over one of her breasts.

“You want to be here with me, don’t you?” he moved to her other breast, “Just like it always used to be, right darling?”

Eve could not talk; all she could do was groan out in pleasure.

“Take your skirt off for me, Eve! And make love to me! Don’t deny the father of your children; the man that you love,” he stared at her with saddened eyes.

She looked down into his pleading eyes. Her hands unbuttoned her skirt and then slid it off. It fell away. Her fingers rested on the top of her underwear and pulled them down as well, and all the while, her eyes never left his.

Julian led her to their old bed and divested himself of his clothing. He then pulled back the covers and got in. Eve then pushed him back onto the bed, and then laid between his legs. Julian could feel her body rub along his manhood; first it was her chest, and then her stomach, and then he felt the curly patch that lay where Eve’s thighs met.

“Eve,” he arched his throat as he felt her sit upon him, “That’s it, darling.”

She smiled tenderly down into his face as she felt their warm bodies pressed together. Her hips rocked back and forth upon him.

“Eve!” his hands squeezed her hips.

“Julian, what are we doing here?” she continued to move upon him, trying to retain the sensational feeling radiating throughout her body.

He looked up to her with tender and love in his eyes and smiled.

“We’re loving each other, Eve…that’s what we’re doing,” he brought her down onto him and embraced her as they both continued to move with each other…
