Subject: The Blue Note - Eve Admits Loving Julian, and Rebecca Tells Crane Truths

We ended the week still at the Blue Note.

Eve was asking Julian why he had the Blue Note recreated in Harmony, and he told her that he did it because it reminded him of the happiest time in his life - his time with her.

Back inside, TC and Chad are going another round with one another. Lizzard is only too happy that this is happening, but she's upset because Eve isn't being tortured by this unhappiness with her family. And I quote Lizzard: " She (Eve) can't miss this (Chad and TC fighting). She can't miss MY handiwork." Lemon Liz strikes again.

As Chad and TC are going at it, Fox is trying to break them apart. When he sees that Whitney is putting herself in the middle of things, he pulls her away to make sure that she's safe, promising to take care of the situation. Fox gets the bartender's help in pulling TC and Chad apart, and tells them that since he's running the place, he's not going to have fights like that. TC threatens Chad - again, and Chad can't leave well enough alone, mouthing off to TC.

Rebecca is watching Chad and TC fight and asks the bartender for popcorn. She got nuts, but that was fine. She was fantasizing about the police coming, arresting them all, and then subjecting them to a strip search - LOL.

Eve and Julian are alone and Eve apologizes to Julian. She tells him that she didn't mean to drag him into her family's business. Julian apologizes for dragging Eve into the 'fast lane', and then hurt her. Eve tells Julian that it wasn't his fault; that he's an easy person to blame for everything. Eve says that the truth is that she fell in love with Julian; he didn't drag or force her into a relationship - she fell in love with him willingly. She was more than willing. This is the rational Eve back in control. The one who is taking responsibility for what happened in the past, realizing that she can't blame Julian for her voluntary actions.

Julian tells Eve that she's made him a very happy man - admitting that she loved him at one time. Eve smiles and tells him that she loved him very much. Julian laments about how different their lives would be if Alistair hadn't of interfered. That it's possible they could have lived out the vision they both shared the night of the green fog. Eve tells Julian wistfully, 'Perhaps' they could have lived out that vision.

TC tells Chad that he could kill him for trying to hurt Whitney. Whitney says that Chad is only trying to help her; TC asks how he's doing that - by drugging her up and trying to get her to come to California? Whitney tells TC that she only had one drink and Fox tries to butt in but TC doesn't want to hear it. Fox tries to take up for Chad, and TC tells him, ' Crane, stay the hell out of this'. Fox tells TC that Chad only came along with him and that he didn't know that Whitney was going to be there. TC calls Chad and Fox a bunch of liars. I guess we know what TC thinks of Fox...LOL

Rebecca is with the bartender, asking him why Fox is standing up for Chad. She says that she didn't even know that Fox and Chad were friends. The bartender says that he doesn't think that they are, and tells Rebecca that he doubts Fox's defense of Chad has anything to do with Chad, and everything to do with Whitney - that he likes Whitney. Rebecca tells him that Fox's father and grandfather will not like Fox's interest in Whitney one bit.

Rebecca tells the bartender that she'd love to be a fly on the wall when Julian and Alistair find out that the heir-apparent to the Crane fortune is falling for a Black girl. The Cranes are not 'diversified' in Rebecca's viewpoint. The bartender tells Rebecca that's not what he had heard. He had heard that years ago, Julian had fallen in love with a Black woman. Rebecca is like, no, that's not possible. The Crane men can sleep with women of all shapes, sizes and colors, but love? Absolutely not. Alistair wouldn't stand for it. When the bartender dismisses her, Rebecca tells him that she knows Julian and Alistair well, and can't see Julian standing up to his father over this. She tells him it's impossible for Julian to have been involved with a Black woman.

This was an important exchange for several reasons. Fox is getting his first taste of 'love'. The question will be....what will he do for it? Will he truly repeat Julian's life, and follow the path for the Crane Empire over his heart? Will he let Alistair run his life as Julian has done, selling his soul in the process. Remember the only reason Fox knew about the Blue Note was because he was making an inventory of the Crane Holdings - the empire one day he believes he will run now that Ethan is no longer 'The Heir'. What will Alistair do once he DOES get wind of Fox's interest in Whitney? Will Julian support Fox, or pressure him to give up his feelings for Whitney? Plus, it's going to be a terrific bombshell for Rebecca when she finally discovers that it's EVE who has had a grip on Julian's heart all these years.

Lizzard is looking for Eve, wondering where she is. She finally sees Eve with Julian and wonders 'What will Coach Russell say when he finds his wife with Julian Crane...yet again?" Nothing but a slimy troublemaker.

Fox continues to try and stick up for Chad, telling TC that he was with him. TC says that he hopes Fox doesn't think he's going to take the word of a Crane - after all, they're nothing but a bunch of liars and manipulators. He does wonder why Fox is with 'street punk' Chad. Does Chad have something on him? Is he threatening him? Is Chad his drug dealer? Whitney is exasperated by TC's attitude. TC says that he knows something is going on here. Oh TC, if you only knew...if you only knew..LOL

Eve is lamenting that she can't believe history is about to repeat itself with Whitney going down the same path into music. She doesn't want Whitney to live life in the fast lane like she did, because it almost destroyed her. She admitted what I had thought a few posts ago: she was happy that Whitney took up tennis because it kept her away from music. Julian tells Eve that Whitney is a wonderful young woman. He had gotten to spend time with her in the elevator, and watching Whitney in that situation, he knows that she's a terrific girl with a good head on her shoulders, and if she decides to go into music, there's no reason to think that her path would turn out anything like Eve's. And, on top of it, Whitney would have her mother to guide her along the right path. Eve tells him that she doesn't want Whitney in the music business -ever.

Whitney refuses to leave with TC until they have settled a few things. Lizzard, wanting to hurt Eve, tells TC that maybe they should find Eve in order to get things right. Once TC and Lemon Liz are gone, Whitney thanks Fox for taking Chad's side and standing up to TC. Fox tells her that he was only telling the truth. Whitney says that she knows TC has a terrible temper, but that she doesn't understand Eve. How could she so totally overreact to Whitney singing a song on stage?

Eve insists with Julian that she's not going to let Whitney become a singer and be pulled into that kind of lifestyle. Julian points out to Eve that what happened to her doesn't have to happen to Whitney. Eve says that she's not going to let it happen and all she wants is for Whitney to come home where she belongs. Julian pulls Eve into a comforting embrace. As Julian tells Eve that it will all turn out for the best, the camera shot shows that someone has spied them in this close embrace, but who is it? Is TC about to find out about Julian and Eve?

I know the answer to that, but I'm not sayin anything..LOL

I thought it was a very good week at the Blue Note. Outside of subpar performances from Mr. Divins, I enjoyed the week, but it proved my point - the character of Chad Harris' story is only going to get MORE complicated, not less. Need someone who can truly play the part with depth and substance. Aside from that, I loved Lemon Liz showing her true colors, no holds barred. I enjoyed Whitney declaring her 'independence' - I only hope she knows what the word means. I loved Fox falling in love for the first time, and denying it to the hills, just like his Daddy. I loved Rebecca being one smart cookie and realizing that the Blue Note is very special to Julian and is now on the case. Her social commentary about Julian and Alistair was also welcome because it showed the obstacles that both Julian and Fox will have if they want to have love. And, of course, I loved Evian because Eve had a meltdown, and Julian tried to help her. He's trying to be a friend to her, this being new territory for him.

The Blue Note was a happening place this week....good character-based storytelling.
