Subject: The Blue Note.....Eve has a meltdown...Fox is in love...

Well, we're back at the Blue Note today.

Whitney is singing, and Fox is just staring at Whitney - mesmerized.

Eve comes in and realizes that it's Whitney singing. Of course, Lizzard is there smiling, telling Eve that history is repeating itself. How can anyone have sympathy for Lizzard? She doesn't even care that she's using Whitney in the least. Eve called her on it - how she could try and get back at her was one thing, but using Whitney was lower than the low. Lizzard put on this poor me face and told Eve that she didn't bring Whitney there to hurt Eve, but she did it to help Whitney - liar! You lying witch. You didn't give a rat's ass about helping Whitney. It's all about Eve for you, the emotional cripple of Harmony.

Eve told her that she had no right, and what was Lizzard's response? That Eve was jealous because Whitney chose to confide in her about singing. Um, Lemon Liz, could it be that Eve was being a PARENT, and didn't want Whitney hurt? But, you wouldn't see that, you revenge-obsessed freak.

Lizzard is a piece of work, asking Eve how her voice is after all the 'booze and drugs'. Um, Lemon Liz, that's been over 20 years. It's amazing that she just refuses to acknowledge that Eve cleaned up her life. If she did that, then how could she blame Eve for the mess HER life is?

Lizzard pours it on....about how Whitney should be able to sing....that it's obvious it is what Whitney wants to do, and instead of fulfilling TC's dream, she could fulfill Eve's.

The bartender asks Fox if he knows who is singing. Fox tells him that he'd met the woman before, but that he'd never SEEN her. The bartender tells Fox that he ' has it bad, Mr. Crane', and Fox wonders what he's talking about. He tells Fox he's seen it before, and that Fox is in love with Whitney. Fox tells him that he's not the monogamous type, and the bartender replies that he's been doing the job long enough to recognize the symptoms, and that Fox can deny it all he wants, but eventually, he'll have to admit that he's head over heels for Whitney.

I love that Fox is denying what happened to him. That he's keeping his smooth veneer. He's denying his feelings for Whitney the same as Julian did Eve. Julian Crane was too cool back then to fall in love. Let alone someone who was just for 'play'. But, like Julian, Fox is in deep, and he's going to fight it, not understanding it, because the male Cranes are control freaks, in command of their destiny, and don't like to be vulnerable in the least.

Eve comments that she won't let music ruin Whitney's life, and Liz tells her that it was the booze, drugs, and sex that ruined Eve's life. That she could have said no, but she didn't. No reason why Whitney has to go down that same path. You know, I understand about drugs, and maybe alcohol, but why is Liz so hung up on the sex? Eve was monogamous with Julian, who was her first, and it doesn't seem to me that she went from guy to guy. The addition of the sex is ridiculous. Eve then has a 'Passions-type' nightmare where she sees Whitney drugged out and singing and it freaks her out, and she rushes the stage to take Whitney off of it, a la how her mother had done her all those years ago.

Eve has a fabulous meltdown on stage, yelling at Whitney that she should be embarrassed about parading herself in front of people like this. That singing was only a step above prostitution. Whitney is like, what is wrong with you? How can you be so upset about this? Why does it upset you so? My Eve is being totally irrational and fearful; all her demons up to the surface to haunt her; her nerves shot; her panic buttons pressed - I loved it..LOL

Lemon Liz comments that Eve should tell Whitney why she's so upset, commenting on how it's working out better than she imagined it could, proving once again, that her only objective in bringing Whitney to the club was to get back at Eve.

Rebecca is wondering what's going on with Eve. She comments that Eve acts like she's never seen anyone sing before, and Julian has a flashback to the night he met Eve in Boston. Rebecca asks why does he keep on looking 'like that', and he asks what is she talking about and Rebecca tells him that he looks like he's seen a ghost. He doesn't respond to her, but goes over to Whitney and Eve, but keeping a safe distance.

Whitney wants to know why Eve is so upset. Eve says that the Blue Note is nothing but a dive where undesirables hang out. Chad defends the place, saying that it's a place where singers hone their talents before trying the big time, but Eve doesn't want to hear it. Fox then steps in and explains that the Harmony Blue Note isn't a dive. That it is being run by Crane Industries, and that it's respectable. He explains how Crane Industries bought the name and some of the original fixtures, but that the club itself is nothing but on the up and up. When Eve comments on what a bad place the Blue Note in Boston was, Whitney asks her how she would know. After all, Eve wouldn't be caught dead in a place like that. Julian and Eve went back and forth with their silent eye action.

Whitney asks Eve again how she knows about the Blue Note, and Julian steps up to defend Eve, telling Whitney that Eve must know about the club in Boston from its reputation, and threw in another club to just show that somethings were 'in the know'. Eve was thankful for Julian's save, and repeated his excuse. Fox asks Julian why he would buy the Blue Note name and have some of the fixtures transplanted to Harmony if it was such an infamous dump. Rebecca chirps in that she wants to know the answer to that too.

Julian then tries to explain that though the Blue Note from Boston had a somewhat unsavory reputation, it was still an intoxicating place, where lovers met, dreams were formed, and that there was a certain special singer that was unforgettable. That she could make grown men cry and enthall them with her voice. When he bought the Harmony Jazz Club, he just wanted to import some of that mystique. Rebecca was not satisfied with that explanation. She told everyone present that it had to be more than that - after all, the waiter had told her that Julian came there all the time, sat in the same place, with two glasses of champagne. This didn't sound like a pure business investment...it was much more in her opinion. Someone with a great sentimental attachment. She wanted to know what made him love the Blue Note like he does. Of course, Julian's eyes are dead on Eve.

Fox tells Julian to answer Rebecca's question - why does he love the Blue Note so? Julian says that he's always loved music, reminding them that was the reason for the creation of the Crane recording studio. Fox tells him that he loves classical, opera, not jazz. Julian responds that he loves jazz too, and is glad that the Blue Note is providing Harmony with exposure to good music again, and that Whitney has helped that along. Eve asks Julian not to encourage her, and Chad tells Eve that Julian is just telling the truth. I loved Fox's response - 'For Once'. Whitney sweetly thanked Julian.

Rebecca tells Julian that while everyone else might buy his act, she doesn't. She knows that there is much more to the story and that she's going to find out what it is.

Whitney told Eve that she wants to pursue music, and Eve asks her if she'd heard anything she'd said. No daughter of hers was going to throw her life away singing at clubs or anywhere else, and she orders Whitney to go home with her and begins to drag her away. Whitney pulls away from Eve and tells her that she's i) not going home, ii) not leaving the Blue Note, and iii) not leaving Chad.

Julian comments that it's a good thing TC isn't there to see it and Rebecca wonders why. Of course, Lizzard's drinking a martini and calling TC on the phone to get him to come down there. And, tell me why again that this character remotely deserves ANY sympathy? I don't think so.

I enjoyed today at the Blue Note. Eve and Julian's past, Whitney, Fox and Chad's present and future....all coming together into one big mess. That's good soap opera.
