The past couple of days have been very interesting for the Julian/Eve/TC triangle.
Eve and TC were talking about Julian and the woman that he knew and loved. TC felt ‘sorry’ for her. When TC said that no man could get past their wife being with Julian, Eve was posing one of her hypotheticals to TC. Why couldn’t the husband get past it, if he REALLY loved his wife. Why couldn’t he chalk it up to a woman making a youthful mistake? TC told her that it wasn’t possible. A man thinking about his wife sleeping with Julian was too much for him to handle. Eve, once again, was caught. It was before she ever met TC, but she was stuck. Eve’s tried ‘explaining’ the possibility of Julian and a woman, but TC has never wanted to listen or show compassion or understanding.

So, Eve is stuck, listening to her family and Chad discuss Julian’s mystery woman. In a ‘this can only happen on Passions’ moment, all of them have the clues: Julian listening to the tape, the same voice at the Sea Scape, Eve destroying the tape, and Eve looking guilty as sin. But, nobody put it altogether…LOL

Julian wakes up and sees Eve and talks about ‘us’. TC hears this and goes into hyperdrive – there is no US with MY WIFE! Julian’s sitting in the bed because TC had beat the crap out of him. Eve tried to calm him, telling him that Julian didn’t know what he was saying, he had been ‘out of it’. TC calmed down, and then actually humbled himself to thank Julian for saving Whitney. That he was grateful to Julian for making sure Whitney was safe. That took a lot for TC to do- thanking a Crane is at the bottom of his list, but it was something he had to do. Once Julian was taken away for x-rays, TC got ridiculous again, wondering why Eve couldn’t assign Julian to another doctor. Eve was like, it’s my JOB. I have to help people, even those I don’t like.

Once Julian came back into the room, Eve lit into him. He needs to keep his mouth shut. Julian already knows what’s would happen to her if TC ever found out about them. How could he risk it? Did he have a death wish? Julian just looked up at her with these soulful eyes. Eve doesn’t know what to do.

Julian tells Eve that he doesn’t have an ulterior motive. He isn’t trying to play her. Eve says that she knows Julian is up to something. She knows him to well. Julian denies there being a bad motive behind what he’s been doing. He tells her that he DOES want something. Eve smiles, knowing that Julian was ‘up to something’.

“ I want you.”, Julian tells her.

Eve looks at him like he’s lost his mind. This can’t be happening.

I loved today’s dialogue between Julian and Eve.

Julian is being sincere. Julian is being honest. Julian is being direct.

Eve is losing her mind because of it – LOL

I have believed, ever since their discussion at the party, and the shared vision, that things have changed between Julian and Eve, but that Eve didn’t exactly ‘get’ how much things have changed.

Eve spent 20+ years being mad at Julian. She spent all that time thinking that Julian didn’t love her or their son. She fed off of that anger. In a way, the anger protected her. It was part of her shield against Julian. Julian could never get close to Eve because of it. Her anger wouldn’t allow it.

When she and Julian reconciled their past, it did something to her. She put down her angry shield and settled the pain. But, in its place, Eve had nothing to replace it. She put down her armor, and Julian – HER Julian, is staring her in the face.

Eve is losing it.

In Eve’s 20 year re-write of her relationship with Julian, she was ALWAYS his victim. Julian was ALWAYS the bad guy. Couldn’t be any other way. That’s why she kept on using words like ‘you’ll never seduce me’; ‘ you used me’. She said them over today, even though her flashbacks told another story.

Julian quietly asked Eve if she ever remembered when they were together. She had a flashback, and she was enjoying herself with Julian. The emotions of that came flooding back, but she had to beat them down, so she told Julian ‘ No – she never thought about them’. Julian was disappointed and then Eve went into another flashback – it was clear that Eve was full of passion for Julian, and she wanted him. Eve came back to the present and told him that it would ‘never happen’. Julian didn’t speak to her, but he noticed her reaction. Eve knew about her reaction, but didn’t want to admit to what caused it.

Both of those flashbacks showed Eve being willing and able with Julian. It showed Eve a glimpse of the person she was with Julian- free, passionate, sexy. That part of herself that she’s repressed for years. Eve cut off that part of herself after her son ‘died’. She has NEVER dealt with all her losses. She buried them and pretended that it didn’t happen. But, it did. She locked away parts of her soul – but, you can only do that for so long, before it breaks through.

Julian’s x-rays come back, and he asks Eve if he will live. She tells him that he has cracked ribs and will need stitches. She asks him WHY he did it. WHY did he risk himself to save Whitney, and he replies that he had to do it. He knew what Whitney meant to Eve, and he had to do it. He couldn’t live with himself if anything had happened to Whitney. Eve was moved by it, and quietly told him ‘Thank You’.

In the final scene, Eve helps Julian get dressed, and wonders if she isn’t hurting Julian. He tells her that she isn’t. That she’s a wonderful doctor, and a wonderful woman. She’s more beautiful now….and……

They look at one another and Julian leans in for a kiss, which Eve did NOT resist.

She’s like a moth to a flame.

Even when she ‘hated’ Julian, he ‘got’ to her – I’ll never forget when he came onto her in the hospital, and she threatened to tear his fingers off with a scalpel…BUT, she went home to TC with a sexy negligee, trying to ‘channel’ whatever Julian brings up in her. Now, Eve has no defenses, HER Julian is appealing to her, and she’s remembering WHY she was with Julian…..she’s so lost.

And, I LOVE it.

Eve is at war with herself, and I’m enjoying the battle.
