Subject: Julian and Eve Today......caught and can't get out.

I totally loved today's scenes with the Russells and Julian. These folks are tied together, and they don't even know it.

Ben Masters - the man is so terrific. Julian is at least tipsy, if not drunk, and he's trying to have a heartfelt conversation with Edumb. He's trying to tell him to really think about who to marry because it could change your life. Julian is thinking about his past with Eve, the mistakes he made, and he DOES love Ethan enough not to want him to make the same mistakes. Edumb even commented on his way out that he would have liked to have 'that Julian' as his father.... or a friend.

Julian is in the Library, listening to Eve, when he gets a phone call from someone at Crane Industries. He is angry at the end of the phone call, and then tells himself that he's a Crane. Enough of the melancholy, he's going to go for a walk, and he's going to get back to his Crane sensibilities.

I think that's a defense mechanism for Julian. Each time he's with Eve, she touches something in him and makes him vulnerable. Julian doesn't like to be vulnerable. He plays the role of Julian Crane well. It is his armor.

Meanwhile, TC and Eve are talking to Simone about her relationship with Chad, and TC is going on and on about 'trust', and how much he trusts Eve. How much Eve has meant to him, and how finding the 'right' person can mean so much to how your life turns out. Eve is getting uncomfortable with what TC is saying, because she knows that he is saying these things about an illusion, not who she is totally, because he doesn't know her.

TC comments that the right woman would mean something to any man, but says that Julian is an exception. That no woman would have helped him, not even his 'perfect' Eve. Eve is remembering a vision that told her otherwise.

Julian has let up the window to the Library, so that he could hear Eve's singing on the tape. It's playing outside, and TC, Eve and Simone hear it. They know they've heard it before, and Eve excuses herself to go back into the house.

Once in the house, she remembers another time with TC when he tells her how much he loves her and that she's 'perfect', and that she always would be. Eve laments that if TC knew about her and Julian that he would hate her, and she destroys the tape with a fervor.

Julian, meanwhile, has discovered his car and garage. He's outraged. He's pure Julian Crane.

TC and Simone come over to him. TC tells Julian that Simone did it. This entire exchange just cracked me up to no end.

Simone tried to apologize, but Julian wasn't having it. He tells Simone that he hopes it was an accident, cause he didn't want to think about her doing that on purpose. He tells Simone that she's going to jail. TC is getting heated and tells Julian to stop yelling at his daughter. That he will pay him back. Julian gets 'Crane snobby' on TC, pointing out that he's a mere high school teacher, and then TC says that his wife is a doctor, and Julian shuts that down too. Julian goes on a rant about garnishing wages, and that 'you people' need to quit.

Thinking that Julian meant a racial slur, TC and Chad were about to give Julian and beatdown. I believe Julian...he didn't mean 'you Black People', he meant ' you peasant middle-class', and I had to LOL, cause it was SOOO Julian.

By this time, TC is ready to beat Julian to a pulp, Simone is crying like a baby, and Eve comes back, asking what is wrong.

Simone whines about 'Mr. Crane said I have to go to jail', and Eve was like, ' I don't think so. My daughter isn't going to jail, Julian.' Eve had such a no-nonsense tone in her voice, it cracked me up. Simone was babbling to Julian about how upset she was because Chad and Whitney had a shared vision. Hearing that, makes Julian flash to him and Eve and their shared vision. And, Julian ' I'm going to be a Crane, Dammit', is brought vulnerable again by his feelings for Eve.

Julian then tells the Russells that it was HIS fault for leaving the keys in the car. TC is automatically suspicious and questions Julian further, but Julian tells TC if he wants to spend his money, he should give it to the needy, and Julian walks away.

TC wonders out loud what just happened. Whitney is curious, and Chad tells him that if it involves the Cranes, it can't be good. Simone is just so happy to be off the hook, she has a stupid grin on her face. TC says that Julian has an ulterior motive. That he's after something, and Whitney asks 'But What?'

Just then, Eve turns to look at Julian. NOBODY does the 'look-across-a-room' like Evian. NOBODY. She looks at Julian and gives him just the slightest hint of a smile, and Julian's eyes brighten in acknowledgement. I loved that look. Eve doesn't even want to realize it, but she's being drawn in by Julian. The Julian who let Simone go is 'her' Julian. Once again, she's seen him and responds to him. I always thought it would be slow and steady between these two. The way to Eve's heart is through her children, and I believe Julian is going to learn this lesson well.
