Subject:  Evian, Ivy, Fox at the Lobster Shack....Absolutely Fabulous!

I absolutely loved today. There was so much subtext at the Lobster Shack.
Eve and Julian are embroiled in their intense liplock. They are getting into it, when Eve spots Ivy and is jolted back to reality. Ivy was attacking Eve, and Julian was trying to protect Eve, telling Ivy to leave Eve alone. I loved it…it was so sweet. Ivy told Julian that he can’t do anything, unless they were willing to tell TC. Ivy said she held all the cards. Ivy was viperous towards Eve…saying how hypocritical Eve was. Talking down to her about being with Sam, and here she is with Julian. She says that Eve is quite the actress, having all this righteous indignation, yet she’s carrying on with Julian.

I loved that Eve was breathless after kissing Julian. That is something that is consistent. The last time Evian kissed, in the hospital, you could see the passion rising in Eve, so much so that she was breathless. Julian just does that to her.

What was Eve’s first real coherent sentence?

“ I..I love my husband.”

Snicker snicker…bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha

Oh, Eve.

Nobody said that you didn’t, but honey, you were sucking serious face with your first love and you were enjoying it. Oh Eve, you’re so confused, and I really love it. She’s not dealing with her feelings for Julian at all.

Ivy said that Eve had said she hated Julian. Eve admits that she did, but that Julian had been so supportive and understanding of her situation lately. Ivy had to laugh at that because everyone knows how ‘kind, supportive and helpful’ Julian can be. Ivy’s never seen the Julian that comes out with Eve, so how would she know? This is one of the issues in the possibility of Evian ever really being together. No one in town would understand how Eve could be with someone like Julian.

Ivy asked how long the relationship had been going in…did Julian and Eve even stop being with one another, and had they been cheating together during the time Julian was married to Ivy? How could she know that Whitney and Simone are even TC’s children? It’s possible that they could be Julian’s children. Eve was appalled, and the look on Fox’s face at the thought of Whitney being his sister…he was like..’GROSS’. Eve was like, Julian is NOT the father of Whitney and Simone. Fox was relieved – LOL.

Julian backed up Eve, said that she has been faithful to TC. That she loves her husband. Julian can’t help but try and support Eve. Ivy asks Julian/Eve if they think TC would believe that if HE was the one who had discovered them. Eve sees TC looking for her, and Ivy comments that Julian can stick around and find out what TC thinks, but he better have body armor.

By the time TC finds Eve, Julian is hiding in the bushes. Fox comes up behind Julian and comments that he’s doing a lot of hiding lately….hee hee.

TC asks Eve what she’s doing out on the terrace, and she tells him that she wanted to get some air. Ivy pipes up and says that they were just discussing lost love. Julian frets that Ivy is going to tell TC, and Fox, being a smartass, asks Julian what Ivy could tell him, and Julian tells him to shut up. Loved their entire back and forth.

Fox tells Julian that he looks like he’s about to walk ‘The Green Mile’, and Julian tells him that it’s not far from the truth…..LOL

I love how snarky TC can get with Ivy sometimes. The imperious way in which he folds his arms almost like to dismiss her. He has no qualms in calling her Poison Ivy to her face, which cracks me up. The hint of mocking that is in his voice. He comments that they were talking about ‘lost loves’, and Ivy tells him the story of a young woman who had a child by her first love, and that they re-connected later in life. I loved the look on Fox’s face as he listened to Ivy’s story. He looked from the terrace to Julian and back again…oh yeah, Fox was getting details filled in by the truckload. TC says that it sounds a lot like Ivy and Sam. Ivy says that Eve was lecturing her on being with Sam, and TC says that he agrees with his wife. That someone is going to be hurt, and it will probably be her. TC says that with a thin smile on his lips…hee hee. Ivy smiles back at TC and tells him that she appreciates his concern. TC tells Ivy that she’s not going to get Sam. That he loves Grace, and takes Eve to go back inside the restaurant.

As TC and Eve walk back into the Lobster Shack, TC tells Eve that he appreciates what she’s trying to do for Grace and Sam, but nothing good can come out of being with Ivy; that she’s a viper, and Eve should not be around her. Eve of course agrees, and HAS to take one more look in Julian’s direction before she goes to back to dinner with TC. Someone on a message board said that they believe Eve’s backward glances towards Julian are a subtle way of commenting that Eve can’t let go of her past. I love that observation.

Once Eve and TC are back in the Lobster Shack, Ivy calls out that it’s fine for the ‘yellow belly coward’ to come out. Julian comes out and Fox follows him, and Ivy calls him ‘yellow belly, jr.’ The contempt in Ivy’s voice for Fox even surprised me. He is JULIAN’S son, and therefore he is damned in her eyes. Fox said that it was nice to see her too, with sarcasm dripping in his voice.

Ivy asks Fox what he’s doing there, that he really is his father’s son, and Fox tells her he’s being a typical Crane – gathering information for future notice, and this time his subjects are his parents. He says that he got a great deal of information, and that it’s been an interesting night. The look on Fox’s face as he tells his parents this is too funny; his smile is terrific.

Ivy: What an evil little boy you are.
Fox: Well, I did learn from the best, Mommie Dearest.

Fox tells Julian that he should be thanking him for sending TC in a wild goose chase for Eve, otherwise, he would have caught Julian in a major liplock with Eve. Julian tells Ivy that he won’t thank him, and Fox says, of course not. He knows better than to expect any thanks from Julian, and comments that his family is outrageous.

Fox asked Ivy why she didn’t blow things apart when TC came out to the terrace. When he called Eve Julian’s ‘mistress’, Julian was quick to jump in and say that Eve is NOT his mistress. He doesn’t want Eve to be denigrated like that. Fox continues thinking out loud, asking Ivy if the reason she didn’t bust Julian was because Julian or Eve had something on Ivy that would blow her out of the water? Ivy tried to blow Fox off, but Fox realized he had hit a nerve. I love that Fox is so cute.

Ivy was vicious with Fox, telling him that he was sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong, and that it will get ‘chopped off’. Ivy then turns to Julian and tells him to handle things with Fox, calling Fox a ‘pest’. Fox tells her that, as usual, her maternal warmth is overwhelming….ah, what a smart slam. She tells Fox that he’s very naïve if he thinks that he can take them on. She warns him to be very careful. Fox shrugs his shoulders and says that he’s only following his parents’ example. Ivy says that she has to get back to Sam, but doesn’t leave before telling Julian that he needs to take care of ‘this problem’ immediately.

Ivy was awful with Fox. Everyone in the viewing audience knows that if Ethan turned into a drugged out pedophile serial killer, she STILL would never talk to Ethan that way. Ivy has no shame when it comes to her mistreatment of Fox.

Julian tells Fox that Ivy is right. It’s in his best interest to forget everything that he saw tonight. Fox tells him that he can try, but he doesn’t know if he can. Julian insists that he will, because he will be preoccupied with more important things…

Fox asks, ‘like what’.

Julian – like staying alive.

Fox was stunned by Julian grabbing him like that. That level of fury is scaring Fox. He doesn’t know that Julian’s capable of it. After all, we haven’t seen that level of fury in Julian but one other time – after the Prom Boat incident, when Alistair disinherited him, and he was going after Ivy. THIS is the Julian that will kick TC’s butt one day.

Fox is messing with fire. Julian already destroyed Eve once before, and he will not ALLOW Fox to do it. He simply won't. There are two things on this Earth that Julian has loved, or were created from love: Eve and their son. That's it. It's all he has, and he will not see Eve hurt again

There was so much intensity in that last scene between Julian and Fox. And Fox…the scenes with his parents were on-spot character-driven writing. Fox totally feels like the throwaway son, and scenes like today were no help. Ivy was not only cold, but downright hostile towards Fox. The fact that he reminds her of Julian was of no favor to Fox. The way she threatened Fox….it was cold as ice. We all know she’d never talk to Ethan like that. Think about a lifetime of that kind of treatment, and no wonder Fox has no allegiance to his parents. When he told his parents that he was gathering information for future reference, they knew he told the truth. After all, they would know what Fox had learned growing up a Crane. He understand power, and that knowledge is power.

Unlike others, I don’t think Julian would hurt Fox. He just wants him to shut up about things. He doesn’t want the pieces of knowledge that Fox has acquired. But, I can see the writing on the wall for when Evian’s child comes to light. Fox will hate him on General Principle. He won’t be able to help it because of the neglect and the built up resentment that he already has from years of their treatment. Justin played those scenes to perfection; the sarcasm and smartass remarks to his parents were said with a smile, but you could sense the anger and hurt beneath it.
