Subject:  Absolutely LOVED Julian and Fox today...Fox pieces together the truth

This was a good day for one of the smartest people in Harmony: Fox Crane.

He comes to the Library, and Julian is laying on the couch, listening to Eve. I loved the entire ‘look’ of the scene. Julian was so informal, just relaxing on the couch, listening to Eve. Fox wonders what is up with Julian and the music, and why does the voice sounds familiar. So, he goes into the Library and disturbs Julian, who gets up and turns off the music. Julian looked so relaxed, so vulnerable on the couch with the music on. When Fox invaded his space, he has to protect himself and his secret with Eve. The Library is Julian’s sanctuary; his place where he can just ‘be’ in the Mansion, and combining that with listening to Eve’s music, and he was happy. Fox invaded all of it.

Fox asks Julian who the singer is, and Julian tells him it was something he taped off the radio. Fox tells Julian that he listens to it a lot, and Julian says that he enjoys the voice. Fox asks Julian is the singer is as beautiful as the voice, and Julian tells him that he doesn’t know. Fox then says that she sort of sounds like Whitney, and that’s not what Julian wants to hear. Julian tells him that he wants to be left alone.

Fox was SO slick. Fox and by extension, Justin Hartley, is really coming into his own. Fox pretends that he’s going to agree to Julian’s demand and begins to walk away. But, he’s never lost the focus of why he came to the Library.

“ By the way, tell me about you and Dr. Russell.”

LOL

I loved the look on both their faces. Fox is snooping and Julian doesn’t want to give up any secrets.

Julian tries to play it off, telling Fox that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Eve is an associate of his, nothing more. Fox is like, you keep on winding up in each other’s arms, spending time together.

Fox: What’s up with that?
Julian: There’s nothing ‘UP’ with that. (it’s so funny when they have Julian use ‘younger’ vernacular.)

Julian explains that he’s on the hospital board, and Eve is a doctor, and their relationship is purely professional.

Fox then asks about the Blue Note, and how he found Eve in Julian’s arms, and that he hid from TC. Julian tells him he was just comforting a distraught mother. When Fox presses on, Julian tells him that he doesn’t owe him an explanation, and that Fox should just drop the subject.

Fox: I’m just curious.
Julian: Curiosity can be a very dangerous thing. Remember what it did to the cat.
Fox: I do….Satisfaction brought her back.

This was a great exchange – Crane to Crane.

Fox can tell that he’s onto something, and Julian, with his glares, isn’t giving an inch.

Julian tells him that there is nothing to discuss, and Fox tells him that it’s ok, but he’s going to tell Julian what he believes is going on. He tells Julian that when Eve was telling the story of her son and how he was taken away, he noticed Julian’s reaction to the story. It seemed to him that Julian was reliving the pain; that he even had tears in his eyes for Eve, which blew Fox away because why would Julian- who had compassion for no one – be so affected by Eve’s story?

I loved how Julian got up from his desk, crossed the room and opened the door, telling Fox to get out.

Fox continues on with his hypothesis. He tells Julian that he heard Liz say ‘ wait until TC finds out the entire truth’, and when he asked her what she meant, Liz told him to wait and see. Fox tells Julian that he believes he has figured out the rest. He thinks Julian is the father of Eve’s son.

Julian closed the door quick after that, asking Fox how he dared to besmirch Eve’s name like that. That it was a lie, and if Fox repeated it to anyone, he would be disowned. Julian spoke of Eve’s integrity, and that he won’t have rumors started out that question her character. Julian explodes at Fox, yelling at him to get out, and Fox leaves. Once out in the hallway, Fox comments that not only did he hit a nerve, but poured salt into an open wound.

Once Fox was gone, Julian was pissed that Fox had nailed the truth. Julian wants to see Eve to warn her about Fox being onto their past relationship. He calls the hospital and finds out that Eve’s at the Lobster Shack. He leaves the Library to see Eve, and Fox is following him.

I loved the Julian/Fox scenes today. How can a show that got it all wrong where Charles Divins is concerned, be so on the money with Justin Hartley. Hartley is growing in the role of Fox with every scene.
