Subject: Fox Is Stunned  By Love

Enjoyed the Foxney developments for today.

Fox is outside walking, looking at a picture of Whitney, remembering the time that Whitney sang.

He says to himself,

" Me? In Love? I can't let anybobdy know. We've got to be very careful, Whitney. Very careful."

Is this a surprise to anyone? Certainly not to me. They've done so many Fox/Julian parallels, and this can be no different. Julian did not admit his feelings for Eve 'back in the day'. He was the ultimate 'playa' who wound up being 'play'd.' The closest Julian came to admitting his feelings back then was when Eve was ready to leave them. Instinctively he knew he didn't want to be without her, but he couldn't put a word to the feelings. Fox is a mini-Julian. What experience does he have with 'love'? Certainly not the relationship between his parents, or his relationship with them and his siblings. He's a cynic, and love wasn't on his radar.

Now, he's got these new feelings, and it goes against everything he ever believed about himself, and  a  part of him is confused. He can't admit it to himself that he loves Whitney, how can he admit it to anyone else?

As far as the being 'careful' part, Fox is no fool. He understands that he's on shaky territory with Whitney being Black, so he has to navigate that too. Fox is a strategist. That's how he's survived this long, and I would bet that his motus operandi is to make a plan to the final detail, and then proceed with it. His enemies don't know what hit them until it's too late. It's his survival instinct.

Theresa comes up from behind and asks Fox why he needs to be careful about Whitney. Fox covers and Theresa comments that it would kill Whitney to be away from Chad for the six month period. (Oh puleeze, but look who's doing the talking). Fox wonders if Whitney and Chad are really that tight, and Theresa says that they're in love. She doesn't know how they're going to handle being apart if Chad goes to L.A. Fox says that Whitney will get over him in time, and Theresa doesn't think so. They can't handle being separated. Theresa then tells him that she just left Whitney over at the studio with Chad. Fox makes up a story about having left his keys at the studio, and Theresa offer to go with him to the studio to find them.

Theresa notices that Fox has a  picture of Whitney and asks him why he has it. He says that he found it at the Mansion and knew that it had to belong to Theresa, and was going to give it to her. Theresa comments about how beautiful Whitney looks, and Fox downplays it, saying that he hadn't noticed.

Chadney is cuddling (do they do anything else besides have sex?), when Theresa and Fox show up. Fox gives his lame story about wanting to find his keys and Chad goes to look for them. Fox and Theresa come into the studio and Whitney's underneath a sheet. Fox is looking at Whitney, while Theresa is making apologies with her eyes. Whitney decides to get dressed and Fox can't keep his eyes off of her until Chad called him and they went to look for the 'keys'.

Whitney and Theresa talk, and Theresa tells her that she's going to have to make the choice between making her parents happy or making herself happy. It's the choice that needs to be made.

Fox faked Chad out about the keys, 'finding' them in the studio. Whitney says that she's too tired to make a decision, and Theresa reminds her about what she'd be giving up with Chad. Fox and Chad return, and Whitney thanks Fox for standing up for her and Chad. Chad calls Fox  ' Brother', and Whitney jokes that it's probably the first time that anyone's called Fox that. (foreshadowing and irony). Fox tells Chad that he's welcome at the Blue Note anytime, and tells Whitney that if she ever wants to come and sing, she's totally welcome.

Once Fox and Theresa get into the hallway, Theresa tells Fox that he's a mystery to her. When Fox asks why, she says that Fox isn't like Julian and Alistair - he doesn't lie and manipulate. He's not a typical Crane. He helped her and now he's helping Chad and Whitney and he doesn't even really know them. She tells Fox that he's 'one of the good guys', and that they will be friends for a long time to come. I found that interesting. One of the things I disliked about Theresa and Ethan is that I've always believed Ethan loves the Theresa that he ' thinks' she is, not who she really is. I haven't been on the Ethan/Theresa bandwagon for a long time. I don't think Theresa is hopeless. I just wanted her to be with someone who sees her for who she is and still likes her anyway. There are only two men on the Passions Canvas that qualify under those terms: Chad and Fox. I believe they see Theresa in real terms, and genuinely like her. But, did they flip the script today, and now have Theresa take the Ethan position when it comes to Fox? Does she see him through rose-colored glasses? Fox is no Polyanna, and he's never pretended to be, which is why I thought he and Theresa were on the same level.

Theresa herself has said that she believes Fox is in love. Will that love be wrong because it's Whitney? What will she do when she finds out?  I wonder.

I enjoyed Fox a great deal today. He's a lot of fun. Don't need him to be an angel, and he's not the devil. He's just sly as a Fox...LOL
