Chapter 6

“OMG, TC?” Eve gasped in utter disbelief.

“How does that work?” Julian asked. “I’m confused as to how that’s possible.”

“Well, while Ivy was seeing Sam, I was sneaking off to see TC. No one knew about us. One day we got careless and my parents caught us. That was the last time I was with him. My parents send me away. I was gone for 10 months. During that time I had a son and my parents arranged for me to marry Jonathan Hotchkiss.” Rebecca’s story flowed out. It was like a dam had suddenly burst. “Nobody knows about our son. TC doesn’t even know.”

“Wow!” Was the only thing they could say. “A son?”

“You’re not going to tell anyone are you?” Rebecca asked in sudden fear.

“No, we won’t Rebecca.” Eve promised.

Julian slid his arms around Eve’s waist and pulled her back to him. “I’ll trade you spouses.” Julian joked. “You can have TC and I’ll take Eve.” He nuzzled her neck.

“I’d love to be with TC gain.” Rebecca said.

“Actually,” Eve though aloud. “That might work. Of course you might have to fight Liz for him and of course TC has to think it’s his idea.”

Both Julian and Rebecca looked at Eve in shock.

“What are you talking about?” Rebecca asked.

“I’m talking about finding a way to be with the people we love.” Eve said. “Look, give me a couple of days and I’ll explain it better.”

Rebecca shrugged. “Okay. Look, I’m going to head home. You know where to find me.”

Julian and Eve watched Rebecca walk away.

“Rebecca ad TC, now that’s not something I would ever expect to hear.” Julian said.

“Yea, but who would ever think that we’d be in love?” Eve asked as she turned around in his arms to face him. “I mean, who would thought that we ever would have been in love.” Eve quickly corrected herself.

“Good point.” Julian said,

They stood there for a couple of moments just staring into each others eyes. Julian slowly lowered his head towards Eve. In return she raised her head to meet his, accepting his kiss. Their lips met in exploding passion. Julian wrapped his arms tighter around Eve as he tilted his head to deepen the kiss. Their tongues exchanged mouths as Eve threaded her fingers through Julian’s thick, soft hair. She pressed her other hand to Julian’s back puling him so close that even aid wouldn’t be able to pass between them. Moments later the kiss finally ended – due to lack of air.

Eve laid her head against Julian’s chest as she relaxed into his embrace. This was one of the things she missed about being with him. Not only their passions, but also the ability to just be. To be in his embrace and feel his heart beat. To hear his heart race, knowing it’s because of their shared passion. Knowing that in his arms was safety. The knowledge that he would never willingly allow anything to happen to her.

She had shared love with TC, but nothing would ever compare to what she’d felt for Julian, what she still felt. “Yes.” She thought. “I still love him and I’m tired of denying it to myself. But, I’m married to TC and until TC admits that he wants to be with Rebecca, I can’t let Julian know that I love him.”

Julian had missed his. Holding the one true love of his life in his arms. Feeing her heart soar from their ageless passion. He’d missed making her feel secure. Making her feel loved. And he did love her. He had from the first moment he saw her and he would love her until the day he died. That would never change.

He felt horrible for putting her through what he did when they were younger. He would forever regret introducing her to a life of drugs and alcohol. He’d witnessed her fighting her addictions, trying to recover. Knowing that he was the cause. He didn’t know how she could still love him after all of that. “I know she loves me.” He thought. “It’s just that she won’t admit it. I’m willing to wait. I’ll wait until the end of time to be with her.”

“Eve, you’re vibrating.” Julian said with a short laugh.

“It’s my cell phone. The hospital must be trying to get a hold of me.” She reluctantly pulled out of Julian’s warm embrace and pulled her phone from her pocket.

Julian watched as Eve talked to the caller. He smiled at her when she looked his way.

“I’ve got to get back to the hospital.” Eve said as she put her phone away. “Walk me back?”

“Definitely.” Julian replied

They slowly walked back to the hospital, their fingers tangled together. Julian stopped once again in the shadows a few feet from the hospital.

“We better separate here so no one sees us.” He leaned down and gently kissed her lips. “Until later my love.” Julian whispered.

“Okay.” Eve said on a sigh. Turning around she softly touched her lips as she walked into the hospital.
