Chapter Twelve

Jamesha stood still, glued on her feet as she witnessed Mrs. Russell, kissing another man other than the Coach! And not only was it just another man, it was the one man the Coach hates above all else, the one man who was his worst enemy, and the same man who supposedly ruined his career. Mrs. Russell was cheating on the Coach, with this man? “My god,” she realized. “Just how many things have changed since I left here?” After coming back to her senses, she finally had noticed that Eve was staring at her, while her eyes popped up in fear. Julian, however, was looking outside the window for a brief moment.

Since Jamesha already held Eve’s attention, she aggressively motioned for her to meet her outside. She then closed the door.

Eve closed her eyes. She dreaded having to lie yet again about Julian. She touched Julian’s hand briefly and then whispered that she had to go. Julian looked up to her, still feeling dazed having just woken up, and smiled an incredibly handsome smile, requesting for her to come back soon. Eve nodded her head and kissed his cheek. She then strolled down the room disappeared before his eyes.

Julian rested his head back down. It was good to be back.

_____

The minute Eve left Julian’s room, Jamesha immediately closed the door and spun her head towards Eve really fast.

“So,” Jamesha joked, “What were you doing, harassing my patient?”

Eve looked away nervously. How the hell was she supposed to explain what Jamesha had just witnessed? And without Julian here to back her up…

When there was still no response from Eve, Jamesha nodded in understanding anyways. She was in no position to go off on Mrs. Russell like that, and besides, she had just arrived back to Harmony! She didn’t even know the whole story yet, so why place Mrs. Russell along the guilt trip?

“I’m glad Mr. Crane is awake,” Jamesha said finally. “I’ll have to do a thorough check-up on him though, so if you’ll please…”

Eve nodded gratefully and stepped out of the doorway. “Yes, I have other patients to tend to anyways. I’ll be back as soon as you are ready.”

“Alright.”

___

Jamesha closed the door, but forgetting where she was, she did it a bit too fast, and a bit too loud.

Julian immediately opened his eyes and peered at the woman standing in front of him.

“Eve?” he asked. “You came back so soon.”

Jamesha looked down in confusion. The way that man was just looking at her right now, is this the way he looks at ALL women?

“I’m not Dr. Russell.”

“What?” Julian bolted up from his bed, and winced in pain. His back hurt, and he had just experienced a momentarily dizziness.

“Sit down,” Jamesha said gently. She paused. “Here, let me help you.”

Jamesha was about to reach for Julian, when Julian grabbed her hands away from him.

“I want Dr. Russell,” Julian demanded. “Now.”

Jamesha shook her head sadly. “I’m afraid Dr. Russell will not be able to treat you as her patient.”

“Why not?”

“Because,” she quietly said, “Your father wants for me to be your doctor instead.”

Julian’s soft hazelnut eyes darkened and stricken Jamesha with fear. “You’re a new doctor right? Why was I not informed before-hand that there would be a new addition to the staff?”

“Maybe because I was just transferred here the moment Mr. Crane Senior got wind that you had been shot!”

“I don’t give a damn what the crazy old fool wants,” he whispered in a threatening tone of voice. “You bring me Dr. Russell right this instant!”

Jamesha whimpered in fear. “Yes, sir.”

She left the room swiftly with her heels clanging against the plastic tiles on the floor.

As soon as he heard the door slam against the wall, Julian immediately felt guilty for his behavior. He didn’t know why, but he knew he shouldn’t feel this way. So why is he now?

This new doctor lady… what was that on her nametag? Dr. Morris? She resembled Eve so much and looked like an exact replica of a younger version of her… with those soft, gentle eyes… and her natural curly hair… her beauty… oh yes, she was beautiful… and an arousing sense of maturity that surrounds her… he guessed that was really what had set him off. It was all that and the bonus addition was that she looked part African-American…

Julian’s head was swarming with confusion. Even though he had never met this Dr. Morris woman before… there was some sort of strange connection that Julian felt when he first laid eyes at her. It was like he had known her for all of his life, even if he had never met this woman before. Or did he? Julian scratched his head. She felt like something he had been searching for most of his life.

Who ever she is, he will find out, because suddenly, he had taken quite an interest about this new doctor lady…

______

Whitney grabbed Fox’s car keys from his pocket and dashed for his car parked just outside of the hospital entrance. She hoped he wouldn’t mind, but this was an emergency! Her best friend could of or might have killed Gwen! She wasn’t even sure if she should even call Theresa her “best friend”, because she felt like she no longer understood her anymore.

She arrived at the police station and found a tear-strained Theresa in handcuffs. Whitney panicked. “What happened?” she ran up to the Chief Sam Bennett and Theresa’s cop brother, Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald, looking on to her sadly.

“When Theresa arrived back home and found Gwen cooing over her son, she went berserk and they had some sort of confrontation. When Gwen refused to give up Little Ethan, Theresa smashed Gwen’s face with the glass after a serious fight,” Sam answered quietly.

“Theresa’s been into so much trouble now lately,” Luis said sadly. “I don’t even know what to do with her anymore.”

“And Theresa did this, in front of Little Ethan?” Whitney gasped.

When Luis nodded his head, Whitney mumbled, “You have to lock her up.”

Luis and Sam looked at Whitney in shock.

“What did you say?” Luis whispered.

“Your sister is no longer safe… not even to you,” Whitney said defiantly. “Anyone or anything who stands in her way with her obsession over Ethan will suffer from her wrath… sooner or later…”

“Coming back to Harmony with Theresa was a bad idea.”

____

Ethan and Fox entered Gwen’s ward, and gasped at the sight of Gwen. She was covered in white strips of gauzes everywhere, all over her face, as well as a few scratches on her neck and hands. Fox assumed that Theresa and Gwen must of have had quite a fight back there. She had just gotten out of the ICU, but still, they knew that she was in a serious condition.

Ethan flashed back to when Dr. Russell exited the room in a rush, with some other doctor, regretfully informing Ethan of Gwen’s condition.

“Your wife might not ever be the same again…”

Ethan choked. Damn Theresa! It was official now, whatever feelings he might have mustered for her, was gone. Anything he had felt for her, whether it was friend ship or something else, he didn’t care. He hated her. He hated her to the core.

Fox couldn’t take it any longer. Seeing Gwen like this truly pained his heart, and he raced out of the ward and away from prying eyes watching him curiously. He had known Gwen for so long, and he cared for her deeply. He had just arrived back to his hometown, and already, not one, but two people… who he had always cared for were already placed at the hospital. His father was lapsed in a coma, while his friend was in such a delicate condition.

He reached inside his pocket to find his keys, but he couldn’t find them. Fear crept through Fox’s mind. Did Whitney take them? He dashed outside of the hospital and groaned when he noticed his car was gone. He hoped that Whitney would be careful in her state of mind.

___

All of a sudden, TC woke up and peered at his watch. It was 3:00 am. He was still inside the shed, but when he remembered where he was, he quickly fumbled for the keys and left the shed, making sure to lock the door tightly before making a wild dash back inside the house to look for his wife. Hopefully, she wouldn’t be too worried to not find him in bed at this late hour.

When he arrived back inside his house, he noticed it was empty. Where the hell was Eve? Or worse yet, where was Simone? Why isn’t she home yet? Fear crept into the back of his mind as he started wondering where was his sugar-bear. Is she at Kay’s at this moment?

He then ran outside of the house, again.

___

Simone shivered as she walked outside the Book Café. She felt her life was ruined. She hated her life. Hated everything about it.

First, Whitney stole her boyfriend and then LIED to her about it. Her parents still saw Whitney as the “golden child”, while completely leaving her there in the shadows. Then, Noah shows up and enters her life again, only to find out that he was engaged with his schoolboy crush, Jamesha!

Jamesha was about a year or two older than Noah. They had been best friends since for so long, and even went out with each other during their middle school and some of the high-school days. When the Morris’ had died in a tragic accident, they had left her a letter that was hidden well from Jamesha informing her that they were not really her biological parents. They had adopted her at birth, and taken her in like she was their own. Jamesha wanted to find her real parents, and dumped Noah to pursue her dreams of one day finding her real parents as well as the answers she would always have wanted. As soon as Jamesha had left Harmony, Simone had already immediately replaced Jamesha. She had always had a crush on Noah ever since she was in grade two, and finally, HER dreams came true when Noah had asked her out. Both she and Noah went out with each other for about two years, until finally he had graduated from high school and had to leave for university to study in law enforcement. He promised to return to her, giving her a small locket to remember by and that when he comes back, he would ask for it.

She still had it. Still had that locket she had treasured so deeply in the first few years he was gone. But when she met Chad Harris, her desires for a new boyfriend and someone new to love immediately seeped through inside of her. She wanted this guy, and was on a quest to make him hers. The locket was buried deep inside her closet, long forgotten ever since, and Chad Harris was not a new part of her love life.

But then Whitney had to come and steal him away from her. She lied to her. Every time she asked Whitney if she liked Chad she had always down-righted straight-out said “no”. And as a sister, she trusted her! Now she realized what a fool she was, to have trusted Whitney like that when all she did was betray her…

Just like how Chad betrayed Whitney. She heard that Chad had a wife before coming to Harmony, and never knew that they weren’t divorced. He went back to that woman… and then… and then Whitney hooked up with that Fox Crane.

Hasn’t Whitney caused enough trouble to the Russell family to go dating a Crane? Daddy had always hated the Cranes, and her good-for-nothing sister just decides to live with the rich snob causing enough trouble brewing in her family.

Oh, she hated her life.

Simone was about to turn for home, when a guy grabbed Simone’s shoulder and grinned at her wildly. He looked about a few years older than her.

“Hey babes, what’s up?"
