Chapter 4

Pilar leaned over the railing of the pier and looked out onto the dark water. Simone had basically bullied her into this date with Turk and part of wanted to strangle the girl. She knew that it was out of love that Simone did this but Turk was unbearable. He had been drooling over her cleavage for ten years and when she finally said yes, he did nothing but bore her. She couldn’t blame him too much. It wasn’t his fault that she hadn’t had sex in five years. It wasn’t his fault that her husband disappeared and came back with some half assed story and red hair floozy. She loved Martin with all her heart and he betrayed their vows willingly. Though, she was no angel herself. She smiled fondly at the memory of five years ago.

It was the anniversary of the day she found out her husband was not coming home. Every year on this day, Pilar took off from work and sulked at home. She would hold his picture to her chest in bed and sob. She couldn’t bear to do anything else; her kids knew to leave her alone on this day. So, when she heard the knock at the door, she was depressed and annoyed.

“Mrs. Lopez-Fitzgerald?” Noah had just graduated from high school and was home for the summer. He had been doing nothing special around the house when his mother suggested he bring over a tomato soup cake for Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald. He jumped at the chance. She had been the object of his most erotic dreams since he was twelve. He even thought her dumpy maid outfit looked sexy.

“Hi, Noah, come on in.” She was immediately embarrassed. She had showered but didn’t feel like wearing clothes so all she had on was her gown.

“My mom thought you might be feeling down today and sent this.” He had to stop himself from staring at her. She was all dips and curves in her satin gown. Her hair was down and on her shoulders. The only thing that kept him from completely wanting to jump her was the sad look in her eyes.

“Well, you know where to put it.” She hid her laugh as he headed directly for the kitchen trash. No one ate Grace’s Tomato Soup cake more than once. It just wasn’t a good idea.

“Would you like me to keep you company?” Noah asked when he returned.

“I don’t want you to waste such a lovely afternoon.” She felt guilty for even thinking it.

“It wouldn’t be a waste for me.” He stared deep into her eyes and felt his stomach churn. He was going to a good college on a great scholarship and this new conditioner was doing wonders for his hair. He had every reason to feel confident.

“I have a new movie. I’ll pop some popcorn and put on something more presentable.” She wasn’t going to argue, she wanted the company. She stopped when she felt his hand on her arm.

“You look just fine Mrs. Lopez-Fitzgerald. No need to put on airs for me.” He loved the view of her in that gown. Her skin was so soft under his hand. Her arms were toned as if she did daily workouts.

“Well, if you say so.” Was he flirting? She looked at him funny and went to pop in the video.

They sat side by side and watched the movie. They laughed at the same parts and he actually got her to think of something other than Martin. Pilar found herself strangely attracted to the boy. Maybe it was because of the joy he was bringing her by doing something as simple and sitting with her. Her own children were too involved in their dramas to bother to just sit with her. However, this was not a motherly feeling. She scooted closer to him on the couch just to smell his hair.
“You are truly a wonderful boy for stopping by and brightening up my day.” She smiled at him.

“I’m not a boy.” With that and every nerve he could muster up, he bent to kiss her on the mouth. He was surprised when she didn’t slap him. So surprised, he grabbed her closer because if he was going to be shame, he was going to deserve it.

“What are you doing?” She asked him suddenly. Her voice was clouded over and he could hear the laugh in her voice. It was a sexy laugh.

“I’m about to make love to you.” With that he jumped her. He kissed her hard, as if this would be the last time he ever kissed anyone. He was grateful that he wasn’t a virgin or this could have been awkward.

Pilar decided not to think about what she was doing. The weight of him on top of her was stupendous and she knew that if she rationalized this act, she might not get sex for another decade. She quickly took off his shirt for him and felt his chest. He worked out. Her hands and lips were all over him in and instant that seemed to last forever. He had never been touched and kissed so much. It turned him on. When he couldn’t take it anymore, he lifted her gown. She was completely naked underneath.

Pilar paused as Noah stared at her naked body. She hadn’t been naked in front of man since Martin and that was in the dark. Again making the decision not to think, she stood up in the middle of her living room to give him a better look. She allowed him to ogle her from various angles as his jaw dropped. She could not believe her boldness.

“So, what do you think? Noah?” She was scared for a moment as he just sat there. Then he did something that years later would make her laugh, he sprang up from the couch and they made love all afternoon.

“Pilar?” Her head shot up out of the memory at the voice. She knew that voice and it felt her face grow hot.

“Noah?”
