Chapter 16

Julian had gotten a call from Eve. TC had just gotten back from a visit to his shed, and was mad as hell about something, just the thought of Liz's name was enough to cause him to throw an antique lamp across the room and shatter it, making cursing remarks about Liz and how he was niave enough to trust someone like her. Eve had left the house and called Julian asking her to meet him at the wharf to talk about what to do if Liz decided to come back in their lives, she knew that Liz would be out for revenge against Julian too for helping Eve.

In the bedroom, Rebecca heard Julian out in the hallway. She decided that she'd had enough trying to pinpoint the exact moment that her life went wrong. Disappointed to see that Julian was in a rush, she stopped them. Rebecca decided to try to get his attention. "Pookey, I was hoping we could spend some time together tonight, we haven't got to very often lately," Rebecca said.

"Rebecca, I really have something I need to take care of." Julian said distractedly, not paying attention to a word Rebecca was saying, sidetracking Rebecca's attempts to seduce him. Julian rushed off to meet Eve. Rebecca stood in the hallway feeling rejected.

"Julian, what do I have to do to get you to notice me?" Rebecca asked. No one answered. Rebecca sulked back to the room, bored out of her mind. She wanted to go somewhere or talk to someone, anyone, so she picked up the phone. As she was getting ready to dial Rebecca realized that she had no one to call. "No, under no circumstances am I calling Ivy." Rebecca said. Rebecca could picture Ivy's mocking "I told you so" comments about Julian. She decided it would be a good idea to leave Gwen alone until she had a chance to cool down after their talk earlier. Rebecca decided she'd get rid of her boredom by calling room service. After all, she was a Crane, right? She might as well live like one. Rebecca reached for the phone, but quickly hanng it up.

"This is pathetic," Rebecca said. "Even room service won't thrill me right now." Rebecca wondered why she was suddenly feeling so rejected by Julian's behavior. She wasn't worried about it when she'd gotten into the relationship. Rebecca's eyes widened at the next thought. "Oh no, I can't be- in love with Julian?" Rebecca asked out loud. Rebecca decided she needed to get out of the mansion and headed to the wharf. Rebecca quickly denied her last thought. "Not me, I don't fall in love." Rebecca said. "It's just against the rules." Rebecca banned the thought from her mind. Rebecca heard a familiar voice sneak up behind her and cringed. She turned around to see Theresa smirking. "Go away before I throw you off the wharf." Rebecca said.

"Oh my gosh, you really are in love with Julian!" Theresa said.

"Where would you get a crazy idea like that?" Rebecca asked quickly.

"Well, it's pretty obvious the way you're so quick to deny it." Theresa said. "People always do that when they're in love but don't want to admit it."

"What do you know about love anyways?" Rebecca said, her tone of voice irritated.

"You're getting annoyed with me, people always do that when when they're denying their in love." Theresa said. Theresa decided to push Rebecca's buttons and annoy her, she still needed to pay Rebecca back for those comments the night of the blizzard.

"People would be getting annoyed with you if you lived on the same continent. Now beat it." Rebecca said.

"You just can't admit I'm right." Theresa said.

"Like I would ever give you the satisfaction of admitting that I-" Rebecca realized she was saying too much and cut her sentence off. Theresa smirked.

"So you admit it!" Theresa said. "What's the matter, Rebecca?" Theresa asked mockingly, deciding to rub it in Rebecca's face after the comments the night at the blizzard. "Afraid you won't be able to do something without lying, scheming and manipulating?"

"Leave me alone." Rebecca snapped.

"I seem to have struck a nerve," Theresa said.

"Until you can hang onto a man yourself don't get in my face about this sappy love stuff!" Rebecca said. Rebecca turned the tables on Theresa and mocked Theresa's facial scrunches at her. "It's fate! Ethan still loves me!" Rebecca said. "I'm the one that's suffered in this world! I had Ethan first you took him away from me!"

"Shut up!" Theresa said.

"Theresa, there are plenty of available guys in this town now get a clue." Rebecca said.

"Yeah, you'd know a lot about that, wouldn't you?" Theresa said snidely.

"I'm not even going to dignify that with a response," Rebecca said. Theresa decided she'd better get out of there and took off. She was surprised that Rebecca didn't even try to come after her and strangle her.

"Yep, just as I thought, Rebecca's too busy thinking about Julian." Theresa said. Theresa had walked down the wharf and overheard Julian talking.

"Why couldn't I just admit I love her?" Julian asked himself, remorse in her voice. Theresa smirked, not knowing that Julian was talking about Dr. Eve Russel, her best friend's mother.

"So Julian loves Rebecca too but he can't admit it either?" Theresa asked herself. Theresa smirked. "I know the perfect way to get back at them for everything they've ever done to me. They both hate to admit that I'm right, so I'll just get both of them to admit they love each other, then I'll be able to laugh at them when they're forced to thank me!" Theresa said. Theresa took off before she had a chance to hear Julian talking to Eve when Eve arrived.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Wallace and Precious had finally gotten Sheridan out of the pit.

"You saved my life!" Sheridan said, throwing her arms around Precious and Mrs. Wallace.

"We just have to let Luis know you're here!" Mrs. Wallace said.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure that no one presses charges against you." Sheridan said. "I should have believed you back last winter when you said Beth was after me!" Precious made monkey noises. "Don't worry, Precious no one's going to press charges against you either."

"We're saved, Precious!" Mrs. Wallace said. Precious pulled out a cellphone. "Good thinking Precious!" Mrs. Wallace handed the phone to Sheridan, who called the police station. The basement door was being knocked down.

"Oh no!" Sheridan said. Mrs. Wallace cowered. Precious clapped her hands and screamed as the door opened.

"Oh shut up you damn ape!" Charlie yelled.

"How many times do I have to tell you Precious is an oranguatan!" Mrs. Wallace said.

"Enough about the monkey! How could you free blondie!?" Charlie asked, her voice altered through the clown mask.

"Beth!?" Sheridan exclaimed.

"I'm not Beth!" Charlie said. "But now that you three decided to get smart, you're all going to die!" Charlie said.
