A few hours later, everyone had finally managed to
get out of Tabitha's crazy house and get to the
hospital.

"That was nuts!" Reese said at the hospital, trying
to figure out what the heck was up with all the demons.
He hoped they wouldn't come after him since
he knew they were down there!

"Reese what are you doing here?" Reese's mother asked.
Reese practically spit out his soda in shock.

"Mom! What are you doing here?" Reese asked.

"I got a new job." Mrs. Durkey said.

"What about dad?" Reese asked.

"Your dad and I got a divorce." Mrs. Durkey said.

"What- but you can't- wait- you didn't even tell me!"
Reese said. Mrs. Durkey dragged Reese out to the
hospital balcony. "Why are we going out here?" Reese
asked.

"I don't want anyone to overhear. Your father left me
because he found out who your real father was," Mrs.
Durkey said snidely.

"What!?" Reese said. He had never been dealt a blow
like this. "If dad isn't my real father, then who
the hell is and why am I finding out like this!?"
Reese yelled.

"Keep your voice down," Mrs. Durkey said. "Your father
is Alastair Crane."

"What!?" Reese exclaimed, passing out from shock on
the balcony. Mrs. Durkey dragged him to his feet.

"Did you just say what I thought you said-" Reese
said in a confused daze. This was one of those times
when he wished that he really was nuts like everyone
used to think when he accused Tabitha of practicing
witch craft!

"Reese, do you have any idea what this means? If we
play this whole thing out right, you could be the
next heir to the Crane billions!" Mrs. Durkey said.

"But mom- you and Alastair!?" Reese said in disgust.

"Oh, don't look so shocked." Mrs. Durkey said. Reese
stared at his mother in shock. It was like she was
a completely different person, he felt like he was
talking to a stranger.

"Mom how can you and Alastair Crane-" Reese said.

"It was a long time ago, I wanted a job and I wanted
to make sure I got it." Mrs. Durkey said.

"You- cheated on my dad with Alastair Crane?" Reese
said.

"Duh." Mrs. Durkey said.

Rebecca was in the hospital room wondering where her
pookey was.

"Where the hell is Julian? He was supposed to help
decide on a name for our daughter." Rebecca said.
Rebecca got out of bed and walked by the nursery
window so she could see her baby.

"I am going to make sure your daddy doesn't leave us."
Rebecca said. Rebecca saw T.C.
leave Eve's hospital room. She couldn't help but feel
like she had been punched in the stomach when Julian
sneaked into the room when no one was looking. She
listened since the door was cracked.

Meanwhile, Eve's face lit up when Julian walked into
the room. Rebecca felt extremely jealous as she listened
to Eve and Julian bond over their son.

"He even had to deliver our baby himself and the
second we get to the hospital it's like I'm not even
here!" Rebecca thought.

"Eve, I love you and our son so much," Julian
said. Eve handed their son over to Julian so he could
hold him. "I promise you this time around I'll be
here for you and our son any way I can," Julian said.
"I know you're married to T.C. and you love him, but
I just want you to know I won't make the mistakes I
did last time," Julian said.

"I don't know what I'd do without you," Eve said. Eve
and Julian kissed. Rebecca walked away, not able to
stand listening to it anymore. When she got back to
her room after being lectured by some nurses, she
ranted to herself about Julian's behavior.

"He couldn't even tell me himself- I had to find out
by overhearing him talking to Eve about how much they
love each other on the wharf, then he comes home and
acts like everything is just normal- and now he's in
there with her!" Rebecca said.

A while later, Julian walked back into the room.

"There you are," Rebecca said. Julian wondered how
he was possibly going to keep up going back and forth
to both rooms without getting caught.

Meanwhile, Reese was stunned over his mothers secret.
He had a feeling that his life was never going to be
the same. Even though he hated the fact that his
mom had lied to him, he couldn't help but fantasize
about life as a Crane...

Reese pictured himself walking into the Crane mansion,
his clothes were no longer what the other kids had
always called nerdy, he had ditched his thick
glasses for contacts, and he could get his hands on
any high tech scientific equipment that he wanted.
Reese had some more fantasies about using the Crane
money to make a lot of scientific discoveries. Somehow
he managed to convince himself that science
just wasn't important anymore, not with the possibility
of inheriting the Crane fortune someday.....
