Wait For Me; Chapter 1 (Evian)
by ejcrane

I've recently read some spoilers or rumors, and have to say that I'm quite disappointed in the outcome for Evian(if it's true; I pray No). With that said, I've started a new fic and it takes place after the disaster, and I'm not talking about the tsunami; I'm talking about the Evian break-up. That's a disaster in it's own.

“Eve, I love you,” Tc grabbed her hands, “After what’s happened, I realized that I never stopped loving you,” he pulled her close and kissed her.

Eve hadn’t felt his lips on hers in so long. She returned the kiss, and then pulled away.

“Eve, I’m…sorry, I shouldn’t have done that,” Tc turned around, “It’s just that…it’s been so long since I’ve felt you close to me and I missed it, but I know that you’re with Crane now and…”

“Tc, what did you come here for?”

“I just felt like seeing you,” he shrugged, “But I can see that you’re busy, so I’ll just be on my way.”

Eve sat behind her desk as Tc left her office. She held her hand to her lips and couldn’t believe that she and Tc had just kissed. After everything, he still felt love for her.

There was a knock at the door.

“Come in,” Eve looked up to see Julian walk in.

He had a smile on his face. The one he always wore when he saw her. One could tell that this man was ecstatic over Eve’s accepting his marriage proposal.

“Hello, darling,” he walked in and shut the door behind him.

Eve stood up from her desk and walked over to him as he pulled her into an embrace.

“Ready for lunch?”

“Yes, I just need to get my purse.”

As Eve turned to grab her purse, Julian detected a difference in her. She wasn’t talking much and when he held her, it didn’t feel like she was all there.

At the restaurant, Julian couldn’t help but notice that Eve was in a world of her own.

“Is everything okay, Eve?”

She looked up and smiled.

“Yes, yes, everything’s fine,” she looked back down.

Ten minutes passed and not one word was spoken between the two. Julian now knew that something was up.

“Eve, are you sure everything’s okay? You don’t seem yourself today,” he placed his hand over hers, but she jumped, “Eve?” his eyebrows raised in concern.

She licked her bottom lip.

“Something happened today, Julian.”

“Something? Oh, Eve, did you lose a patient today?”

“No,” she whispered, “Tc came to see me today…”

“Oh, I see.”

“We kissed.”

Julian was stirring his food around with his fork, but paused and looked up after Eve had said her last statement.

He chewed the food that was in his mouth, and then picked up his glass of water to his lips and swallowed to wash everything down.

“I knew something was up,” he set his glass down, “Now I know why.”

“It just happened…”

“Did you feel anything in the kiss,” he asked as his heart ached at not wanting to hear her response.

She nodded.

Julian put down his fork, and placed his napkin on top of the table.

“Well, I can understand. The two of you were married for twenty years and you had children together. I love that you told me this, Eve,” he brought her hand to his lips and kissed it softly.

The two went back to work after they had finished lunch. Eve was so relieved that she told Julian what had happened earlier with her and Tc. And she was overjoyed that Julian understood.

That night she and Julian shared a special night in bed. The two had made love and then held each other as they fell asleep in each other’s arms.
---

Eve’s cell phone rang. It just happened to be Tc. He wanted to know if they could talk and that it had to do with Whitney, so Eve, of course, agreed to meet him.

“Tc?” she spoke as his back was towards her.

He turned around and smiled.

“Hi, I’m glad you could come,” he held her hands in his, “Let’s sit,” he escorted her to a bench in the park.

“So, you wanted to talk about Whitney?”

“Well, yes, and no,” he paused, “Eve, I want to ask you something.”

“Yes, Tc?”

“Okay, um, how do I say this?”

He looked down, and then raised his head so that his eyes were on hers.

“If I asked you to come back to me…would you come back?” he squeezed her hand.

“What?” she said, not believing this was happening, “What about Liz?”

“When I realized that I wanted you back, Eve I told Liz and told her she had to leave.” He knelt down in front of her, “Will you come back to me?”

She couldn’t believe this was happening. This was what she had wanted all along and before she knew it, she answered him…with the answer he had wanted to hear.

“Yes, yes, Tc,” she wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him.

“Oh, Eve, I’m so happy, baby,” he placed a kiss on her neck, “We’re going to be together, and are going to be a family for the girls,” he smiled.

Eve finally opened her eyes and saw the diamond ring on the third finger of her left hand.

Julian…

And just as she looked up, Julian was walking along with Fox. The two were going to talk about Whitney, Chad, and Miles, but now all Julian wanted to know was what was going on with his soon-to-be wife and her ex-husband.

“Julian,” Eve stood, making Tc pull from her.

“Eve,” he swallowed, “What’s going on here?”

Tc turned to look at Julian and had a triumphant smile on his face. He then reached for the engagement ring that Eve had on her finger and slipped it off.

“Eve won’t be needing this,” he tossed the diamond ring to Julian, “I’ve asked her to come back to me and she said ‘yes’.” He smiled.

Julian caught the ring and looked up at Eve.

“Is this true, Eve?”

Eve was about to speak, when Tc intervened.

“Are you hard of hearing, Crane? I just said that Eve’s coming back to me.”

Julian licked his top lip and then bit it. He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Julian then cleared his throat.

“Well,” he looked to her eyes, “All I’ve ever wanted for Eve was to be happy. And if she is…” he nodded as he smiled, “…then I am,” Julian whispered, “I’ll call the mansion and have the servants pack your belongings, and have them delivered to your house,” he said before he walked away.

Fox watched his father walk away, and realized that he had never seen his father look so sad before.

“Julian,” Eve stepped forward as she called out, but was stopped by both Tc and Fox.

“Dr. Russell, don’t,” he prevented her from taking a step forward as his hands were on her shoulders, “You’ve made your decision; don’t cause anymore grief for my father. Just let him be,” he said and then turned to catch up with his father.

“He’s right, baby,” Tc wrapped an arm around her, “Come on, let’s go home,” he led Eve to their cars.
