“Hello, Tc,” she responded, her mind on Julian and his new friend.

“Looks like someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning,” he laughed.

“Tc, please, I’m not in the mood.” She dug her spoon into her grapefruit.

“I’m sorry, baby. How about we go out to the Blue Note tonight?”

Eve thought about it, and decided that she needed a night out. She hadn’t been out in a long time, now that she was back at work.

“Sure, Tc, sure,” she smiled.

“Great! Be ready at eight!” he kissed her on the lips and ran out the door.

It was eight fifteen and Eve and Tc arrived at the Blue Note. Whitney was now the owner of the club since her aunt had left it to her in a letter after she left. Tc pulled out Eve’s chair, and she sat down. He pushed it in a bit and then went around the table and sat down. He ordered some drinks and just as he was about to start up a conversation with his ex-wife, he spotted Julian behind Eve sitting a couple of tables away with another woman.

“Well, well, well, what do we have here?” his eyes stayed on Julian.

Eve raised a brow and turned around to follow Tc’s eyes. She spotted Julian and Su-yun toasting to each other. Eve inhaled through her mouth and then exhaled through her nose; she was furious! Julian was sitting with this other woman at the table he had proposed to her months ago!

After time had gone by, Julian excused himself and went to the bathroom. Eve was grateful that Tc had gotten up to talk to Whitney, because she was allowed to follow Julian. Julian walked out and found Eve in the hallway waiting for him.

“Eve! I didn’t know you were here?” he smiled as he took her into his arms and hugged her.

“Yes, Tc and I were having dinner,” she said.

Eve noticed Julian’s expression change. God, he hated when she mentioned Tc’s name!

“Great, and Su and I are having dinner…I’m showing her around town.”

“That’s good; I’m glad you and yin-yang are having a good time.”

“Eve,” he gave her a look, “That’s not nice; you know her name is Su-yun…why are you behaving this way?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she attempted to walk around him, but Julian caught her arm and brought her to him.

“Eve, she’s just a friend…just a friend,” Julian’s face leaned in towards Eve and captured her lips with his.

He stepped forward and molded his body to Eve’s. His lips traveled to her neck as his hand ran up and down her back. Eve’s arms wrapped around Julian’s neck and brought him closer to her. Her tongue swiped across his teeth and then plunged deeper into his mouth until it met his. The two were so lost in their kiss that they hadn’t known that someone had been watching them.

“It’s grandma and grandpa,” Chad whispered into Miles’ ear, “Shhh, let’s not interrupt them,” he smiled and backed away and walked back to the tables, but ran into Tc, “Uh, Coach, where are you going?”

“I’m going to the bathroom, Chad, excuse me,” he laughed.

“No, you can’t!” he stepped in front of Tc.

“Why not? What are you hiding from me?” he pushed Chad aside and walked into the hallway.

Julian and Eve were in to each other, Tc gathered. Eve’s hands were loosening Julian’s tie as her lips were kissing his neck.

“I long for you, Julian,” she moaned.

Tc’s eyes turned cold.

“WHAT THE HELL?!” he shouted as he marched up to them and grabbed Eve’s arm and pushed her away from Julian.

She screamed as Tc then grabbed Julian by his collar and began punching him. Julian got in a few punches, but Tc’s anger gave him more strength to pummel Julian.

“HELP! SOMEBODY HELP!” Eve yelled.

Two men came and broke up the fight. Julian walked out of the hallway and back to his table where he pulled out his handkerchief and wiped the blood from his lip and eyebrow.

“Julian, what happen?” Su asked as she bent down to look at his injuries, “Are you okay?”

He looked passed her as he watched Tc sit at the table a few feet from him and Su. Eve watched as Su-yun cared for Julian. She watched as Su dabbed the cloth into the water and applied it to Julian’s wounds.

Eve then grabbed the first aid kit from behind the counter and walked over to Julian’s table.

“I think I can handle it from here,” she said rudely.

“No, it’s okay, why don’t you take care of your husband first,” Su-yun offered.

“Excuse me,” she pushed Su aside, “Julian’s injuries are worse and I will tend to him, now if you’ll give us some space,” Eve nodded over to the bar, insinuating for Su to wait over there.

“Su, dear, I’ll be fine…it’s okay,” he nodded.

Su-yun walked over to the bar and ordered a drink as she sat upon the stool.

“You know, you really shouldn’t behave that way towards her; she means no harm,” Julian stared Eve in the eye.

“Yeah,” she scoffed.

After everything had broken up, the lights dimmed once more and everyone continued what they had been doing.

“I’m serious, Eve.”

Eve ignored him as she applied hydrogen peroxide to his eyebrow. He winced, but Eve blew on the wound. The hair on Julian’s neck stood as he felt Eve’s cool breath upon his skin. He wanted her. He then felt her cool breath being blown into his ear. Eve was causing something else to react, and Julian just couldn’t let it go on anymore.

“Eve,” he groaned.

“Yes,” she nuzzled his ear.

Su-yun had just gotten her drink and turned towards the table where Julian and Eve were and stared at the two as Eve appeared to be kissing Julian’s ear.

What? They’re involved?

“Eve, stop it!” he hissed.

She pulled back, totally taken aback by his tone. Su also witnessed this from afar and wondered what was going on.

“You made your decision, and I was okay with it; now please just let me be…you’ve hurt me enough already,” he looked the other way, “You decided to be with Tc, but you can’t be with me too,” he said as he stood and left her sitting alone.

Eve turned around and watched as Julian took Su-yun’s hand and escorted her out of the Blue Note.
