Chapter 8

Chad sat in his room, a bunch of CD's in front of him. He was going through them, one by one, breaking any that had a song that reminded him of Whitney, which happened to be almost all of them. He sighed. He didn't know what he had done wrong. He had tried to be what he thought she wanted him to be. Theresa had said that if he became that person, she would never want to leave him. Poor Theresa, he thought. She had done everything possible to be with Ethan and the jerk had just left her because Gwen was pregnant. Theresa had done everything out of love. Chad coudln't think of one reason that he would have left her if he had been Ethan. He shook his head and went back to his CD's. Some men are just stupid, he thought to himself.
 

Eve returned from her date on cloud nine. David had been wonderful! She felt like a desirable woman for the first time in a long time. She entered the house to see Whitney sitting there waiting for her. "You're late" Whitney said, a gleam in her eye. "oh, I'm so sorry, it won't happen again,"Eve said.
"You bet it won't, becuase you are grounded, young lady,"Whitney said with a laugh. Eve laughed to and sat beside her daughter.
"SO tell me everything,"Whitney prompted.
Eve smiled. She told Whitney about how they had gone out to dinner and then walked on the pier. hey had talked forever. She felt she was truly connected to David. Whitney was glad her mother had moved on after TC. The way he had left had shocked Whitney. She didn't think things in the past should have effected their future, but aparently, her father thought differently. She looked at her mother and smiled. Who needed him. Her and her mother were doing just fine without him. Eve and Whitney snuggled together and shared their days. Life didn't feel like it could get any better
