When Wishes Come True (Theresa/Chad complete)

Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald Crane watched in horror as Ethan kissed his bride. Her dreams all suddenly faded as she saw Gwen look toward her and smirk. Ethan was no longer hers, he was Gwen’s husband, Gwen had won.
She let the tears fall freely as she bolted from the church and ran. She ran out side as the cold air hit her, ignoring it she let her feet carry her far from the church. Almost tripping on her dress she stopped only to pick it up and keep running.
Away, she just wanted to be far away from Ethan and his wife. So many things ran through her mind as she realized it was truly over this time. "Why is this happening?" She pleaded to the wind. "Why?" Her voice cried out as she suddenly stumbled on a rock, sending her body flying downward toward the hard pavement.
She felt a tinge of pain go through her knee and she closed her eyes. Looking down at her hands she saw blood on the small scrapes. "Perfect." She muttered through the pain.
"Theresa, girl are you okay?" A voice yelled as she heard foot steps rushing toward her.
"Fine." She muttered. "The man I love married another woman tonight, I’m just fine."
"Theresa are you hurt?" The voice questioned in panic as Theresa finally looked up to see the worried face.
"Chad." She whispered. "My heart hurts." Her big brown eyes stared up at Chad, tears streaking her soft face.
"I know sweetheart, I know."
Chad slowly helped Theresa to her feet. "That knee is messed up girl." He frowned. "And your hand’s look pretty bad too."
"Its nothing." She told him. "Really. Look if Whit sent you after me, you can go back and tell her I’m fine."
Chad shook his head. "I came on my own Theresa. I was worried about you, I know what this did to you. Whitney doesn’t get it but I do."
"He loves me Chad, but he married her." Theresa whimpered. "Why?"
"Ethan was in a tough spot." Chad shrugged. "He didn’t know what to do."
Theresa rolled her eyes. "He had two women in love with him, yeah sounds rough."
"Personally." Chad frowned helping Theresa to a bench. "I’m not sure if he deserved either of you."
"Chad, how can you say that?"
Taking off his jacket, he wrapped it around Theresa and frowned. "He’s been running back and forth between you two for how long now? It wasn’t right, and now its over. "
"Over." Theresa spoke lowering her head. "Its finally over." Her tears began again. "They’re going to rub it in my face Chad. "Everyone I going to tell me what I already know." She whimpered. "I can hear it in my head, their voices yelling at me."
Chad sighed as he pulled her closer to him, allowing her to cry on his shoulder. He saw Theresa close her eyes and his heart went out to her.
Voices filled her head as she saw images of people she both loved and disliked. Soon they would tell her it was over. Everyone would have something to say, something to share. Why did this have to happen and on Christmas at that. At that very moment she wished she could rewrite history, but she couldn’t. Instead she heard the echo’s in her head of what was yet to come as Chad held her in the cold night air.

"They’re married now, you lost my son forever."

"Get over it you little gold digger, Gwennie won, you lost"

"Gwen Hotchkiss Wintrop. He’s mind now Theresa, Mine!"

"Theresa, let Ethan go, your my daughter but this is crazy!"

"Gwen is my wife now Theresa. I love her, not you."

"Its over Theresa. OVER!"

"No!" She yelled out sitting up in bed. "No." She screamed again holding her hands over her ears. "Make it stop! Please make it stop."
"Theresa! Are you okay?" A warm voice spoke as two arms quickly wrapped around her.
She felt her heart race as she looked around the dark room. She was in bed, she realized, in her bed.
"T, baby are you okay?" The voice questioned again.
Her head moved upward and she saw his face gasping she moved away. "Chad?"
"Yeah baby, you woke up screaming, must’ve been a nightmare."
Chad, Chad was in her bed, holding her like it was nothing.
"What, What’s going on?" She stuttered. "Why are we here?"
Chad laughed lightly, "This is our bed T, man that dream must’ve shook you up."
"Our bed." She swallowed slowly putting things together. Looking down she saw the wedding band on her hand. "We’re married."
"Uh yeah, for two years babe. "
"And we’re living in the Crane Mansion." She questioned.
"That’s where Crane’s usually live." He laughed. "Of course Ethan tried living here, but you remember that fit Fox threw. Leave it to my brother to get his way. Poor mom, she would have caved."
Reality began to seep into Theresa as she crawled from the bed and turned on the light. It had all been a huge nightmare. "Ethan, he’s with Gwen?"
"Of course." Chad laughed. "Those two have been together for years, no one can tear them apart. Of course no one can tear us apart either."
Chad was a Crane, the oldest Crane, suddenly it clicked for her. He was the Crane she had loved, wanted to be with. Ethan was the son of Sam Bennett, although Ivy had been married to Julian for a short time, it ended when their children were very young.
She looked at photo’s in the room, a family photo of Chad, Julian and Eve sat on the dresser. Eve was his mother, suddenly she remembered. Chad and Eve had came to town before she was even born. Eve married T.C. Russell but it only lasted a few years. When Simone and Whitney were young, they separated and Eve and Julian married.
"Whit, is she with Fox?" Theresa spoke looking over at her husband.
"For almost a year now, but baby you know that." Chad frowned. "Are you sure your okay? I know you’ve been staying up with Ethan Martin a lot lately, but if you need sleep I’ll do that for awhile."
"Ethan Martin?" She gasped.
"Yeah you know our son?" Chad laughed. "I named him after Ethan, because he’s my best friend, plus he helped deliver him in the car before we got you to the hospital, and you knew he had to be named after your father."
Theresa slowly sat down on her bed. She had never been unhappy, no she had always been with a man that she loved. A smile spread on her lips, everything was clear to her again. She remembered her first date with Chad, as they spent the whole night talking about love and fate. She was friends with Gwen, although she had problems with Ethan’s ego. Her nightmare had suddenly reminded her of how lucky she was.
"I don’t know what came over me." She sighed looking over at Chad. "I guess it was just one of those weird dreams. The kind that seem too real."
"Well baby, it wasn’t real. Your safe at home with me."
Theresa’s heart warmed as she melted into Chad’s arms. This was where she belonged, with the man that she loved. "Yeah, I am." She smiled. "I’m safe."
"And in a few hours it’ll be Christmas." Chad laughed. "I can’t wait to see the look on your face when you see what I got you. "
"I’m sure I’ll love it."
"Oh you better." He teased. "But we better get back to sleep. You know we also have a few houses to look at over the holiday season." He smiled. "Since our son needs a backyard. Gonna be a busy time, we’ll need our rest."
"Yeah, of course." Theresa nodded snuggling against Chad. "Goodnight sweetheart." She whispered.
"Night T, I love you."
"And I love you too." She smiled warmly. "I really do."

A small angel stood staring in the window as a larger angel smiled. "Beautiful isn't it?" She whispered.
"When Theresa wished for history to be rewrote, I didn't think it would change this much." The little blonde angel giggled.
"Everything was made right in one simple wish. Come now little one, Kay made a wish that she could be good again, I want to see her face when she awakes and realizes she it."
"And that Miguel loves her too?"
"Yes." The raven haired angel laughed. "That too."
Looking back in the window once more the tiny angel smiled. "Is this what we call fate?" She questioned fluttering her blue eyes.
"Yes it is child, it most certianly is."
