You Made Me - Chapter Six(Savy, Ethan, Nicholas)
by Heated fire

It seemed that weeks in Harmony tended to fly by after Ivy’s accident. Theresa moved out of the Mansion and into an apartment with Ethan which Sam offered to pay the first two months rent on until Ethan got a real job. Ivy moved back into the Mansion, still paralyzed, and guarded at almost every moment. If not by Nicholas, by Pilar, if not Pilar, Katherine, if not Katherine, Elizabeth. She was never alone for more than an hour. And of course the good Doctor Royce, her physiatrist stayed at the Mansion almost as much as Rebecca who was back to her old ways of scheming to get the Crane fortune.

Sam and Grace managed to come to terms and they were putting the pieces of their marriage back together with Ivy out of the way. David, with his boss too busy to give him orders, faded into the shadows and stayed out of the way, except until today. Thanksgiving when Grace had personally invited him and John over, as well as The Russell’s and Liz.

Kay Bennett watched as yet another person congratulated her cousin and Miguel on their engagement. Before when she said it made her sick to see them together, it was figurative, but lately, every time she saw them, and even times when she heard them she became sick to her stomach.

“Oh Miguel,” She whispered his voice. “Why can’t you see that it’s me you love?”

Simone, who was standing besides her friend rolled her eyes. “Kay I hate to be a downer,” She spoke up. “But I think Miguel is a lost cause, I mean look at him and Charity.”

“Your right Simone.” Kay stated. “Your being a downer. I mean I have only been supportive of you trying to get Chad away from Whitney haven’t I?”

Simone sighed softly. “Yea and a lot of good it’s done.” She said looking at her sister, sharing some secret joke with Chad. “Look, at them.” Her eyes narrowed angrily. “They are probably laughing at my expense.”

“Hey, you two look down.” John said approaching Simone and his “half sister.” “What’s up?” He asked.

Kay rolled her eyes at John's approach. ‘Half sister my ass.’ She thought to herself. ‘Your nothing more than Ivy Cranes unknown hired help.’ “Simone I’m going to go get a soda.” She said not even making eye contact with John as she passed him.

John watched her go sadly. “I wish she didn’t hate me so much.” He said to Simone. “I’d like to get to know her.”

“She doesn’t hate you.” Simone said trying to be supportive. “Kay has just been down a lot lately.”

John nodded his head. “Because of Miguel.” He stated.

Simone looked at him in shock. “How did you know?” She quickly bit her tongue. “Not that there is any thing to know, but if there was....how did you know?”

“Well I’ve known for a while now.” John admitted. “The way she’s always starring at him, and trying to get him away from Charity to spend time with her. Seeing them like that must be really hard.” He stated.

“You don’t know the half of it.” Simone stated.

Miguel kissed Charity’s cheek sweetly as he stood from the table. “I’m going to get another soda, you want?” He asked.

Charity smiled her sugary sweet smile. “No thank you.” She declined.

“I’ll be right back.” Miguel promised as he made his way to the table, yet he seeing Kay there caused him to tense more than he expected. As much as he hated to admit it, with every thing going one between them, he didn’t know if he could trust Kay are not.

“Hey,” He said smiling nervously at her.

Kay only looked up with a sad smile. Miguel cleared his throat. “So um, you haven’t said much.” He stated. “Usually on the holidays you were absolutely bugged out about being out of school.”

Kay smirked. “Yea well Miguel, people are just like seasons. They change.” She stated as she looked up at him. “Besides what would you have me say?” She asked. “Here I am in my own house feeling like a nothing.”

Miguel shook his head. “Don’t say things like that Kay.” He stated. “You are not a nothing.”

Kay nodded her head. “Yea and you had a wonderful way of showing me differently. By making love to me in one breath and in the next telling me that what should be the most meaningful night in girls life, that would we experienced was a terrible mistake.”

“I couldn’t hurt Charity.” Miguel stated.

“Of course not.” Kay stated. “So you rather it be me.”

“No, that’s not it.” Miguel stated. “Kay I do love you. It’s just not the kind of love you want it to be.”

“So what is it?” Kay asked trying to keep her voce to a whisper. “Friendship?” She asked. “So it was your friendship towards me that pulled you back into the shower that night right?”

Miguel sighed heavily. “You put me in an awkward position Kay.” He stated. “We were both naked in the shower.”

“And you wanted me.” Kay said matter of factly.

“Yes.” Miguel agreed nodding his head. “Because you said if we did it one last time you’d give up trying to get me.”

“Oh that’s bull golly and you know it.” Kay cursed in a harsh whisper. “If your love for Charity was as pure and wonderful as you say it was then that never would have happened. Deny it all you want but you know that part of you wanted me for your own reasons.”

“Kay I....”

“What’s going on here?” Grace Bennett asked approaching them. Miguel quickly averted his eyes some and Kay rolled hers annoyed. “Miguel,” Grace looked to him. “Is every thing alright?”

“Everything is fine mother.” Kay said irritation in her tone showing.

Grace looked back at her daughter. “I was speaking with Miguel.” She stated.

“Everything is fine Mrs. Bennett.” Miguel quickly answered only seconds before Charity approached.

“Hey,” Charity said sweetly. “What’s going on over here?” She asked.

“Nothing.” Miguel answered again, his nerves getting extremely bad.

“Kay I am so glad your here.” Charity said suddenly. “I have been meaning to ask you about the design on your dress so that we could get working on it right away. As the maid of honor you have to stand out.”

Kay smirked some. Not knowing if she should feel anger, selfish, or just plain alone. With out giving Charity a word or look she passed the entire crowd. Charity looked at every one stunned as Kay walked by without a word.

“Was it some thing I said?” Charity asked confused.

Grace shook her head and smiled. “No sweet heart.” She stated. “Kay is just a little under the whether.” She stated. “Why don’t you two just go sit down, and we’ll start eating soon.”

Charity nodded her head, feeling like she was missing some thing., but she pushed a side her suspicions and let Miguel take her back to the table.

Sam, who watched the interaction from far back, now went to Grace’s side. “Every thing alright?” He asked.

Grace shook her head with a sigh. “I don’t know.” She stated. “I can’t be sure but I think Kay is up to some thing .”

Sam took her in his arms. “Well I am sure you are just being overly cautious.” He stated. “I mean, Kay has been doing some pretty bad things lately, but I am sure now that Miguel and Charity have officially announced their engagement she’ll back off. And even if she doesn’t, Miguel loves Charity and would never let any thing come between them.”

“I hope you're right Sam.” Grace stated. “For all their sakes.”

Eve placed her dressing that she had made down on the table, and turned around only to be confronted by her sister. “Now what?” She asked in a some what annoyed voice.

Liz smirked. “Just reassuring you that this is most likely going to be the last Thanksgiving dinner you have as the good doctor Russell.” She stated.

“Save your threats Liz.” Eve stated. “I am getting very tired of them and you.”

“What are you going to do?” Liz asked smiling. “Abandon me again.”

Eve rolled her eyes. “Look, how many times do you expect me to say that I am sorry.” She stated. “I made a mistake.”

“You can say your sorry until your blew in the face it doesn’t matter to me.” Liz snapped softly. “All that matters is that I get my revenge.”

Eve shook her head sadly. “I can’t believe you are so hell bent on destroying your own sisters life.”

“Why?” Liz asked. “You did the same thing to me.”

“But I didn’t do that out of malice.” Eve reminded. “You are acting like a childish petty bitch just in to get the last word.”

Liz raised her hand by Eve quickly caught in. “No more of that dear.” She stated. “Because I promise you from now on, I am going to be hitting back.” She roughly threw Liz’s hand back, and walked past her.

Liz narrowed her eyes. “Well I can see that Ms. Eve needs to be taught a lesson on who is really in charge.” She stated. “And I would love to be the person who shows her.”

“Alright every one.” Grace said as she pulled off her paring. “It’s time to feast.”

“Alright, let’s eat.” Luis stated he and Hank both grabbing beers and taking them to the table with them.

“Hey you wanna sit next to me?” Simone asked Kay.

Kay was about to accept the offer, but suddenly she got a swift pain in her stomach, which was followed by extreme dizziness. “Oh God, Simone.” She said in a labored breath.

Simone looked at her friend cautiously. “Kay are you alright.”

Kay shook her head. “No I don’t think I am.” She stated grabbing the pack of a chair.

“I’ll go get my mom.” Simone offered.

“No don’t.” Kay said grabbing her hand, but before she knew it she had fallen weakly to the floor.

“Mom!” Simone screamed causing every one to look towards her. “Some thing is wrong with Kay!” She stated.

“Kay!” Sam was the first to spot his daughter bawled up on the floor in pain. “Kay what’s wrong?!” He asked kneeling besides her.

Eve came rushing to her side, with Grace and Pilar behind her. “Kay, sweet heart tell me where it hurts.” She said taking the young girls hand.

“My stomach.” Kay managed to weakly muster.

Eve looked to her husband. “T.C., go get my bag in the car honey.” She stated.

“I’m on it.” T.C. stated.

‘God,’ Kay though clutching her pained stomach. ‘What’s wrong with me? I have never felt this way before in my life.’

“Kay honey I want you to try and stand and I am going to get you into the living room and examine you.” Eve stated.

Kay nodded her head, and did her best stand as much as she could by herself, then Sam, and Hank helped her the rest of the way up, and into the living room, where Eve would tend to her.

At the mansion, Ivy rolled her eyes in anger as Doctor Royce continued to speak with her about life and the meaning of it, and other pointless things that she had no interest in at the moment. “Please, please, please.” She begged looking at the doctor. “Listen to me, I am not crazy and I did not try to kill myself.”

Doctor Royce nodded her head. “Ivy no one thinks your crazy.” She stated. “You’ve just been under a lot of stress, and that can take it’s toll.”

“Have you heard a word I have said?!” Ivy asked angrily. “I am not suicidal! Do you understand. Not!
N-O-T!”

Doctor Royce sighed heavily. “Well then how do you explain the letter you wrote your children?” She asked.

“I have already explained that.” Ivy said sitting up in her bed. “I was contemplating it! I didn’t do it, some one else must have....”

“How Ivy?” Doctor Royce asked. “How did some eon break into your room and slit your wrist? I mean if you were attacked I would think you would scream, or some thing to let some one know there was an intruder in your room? So why didn’t you scream Ivy?” She asked.

Ivy sighed heavily and dropped her head some. “I don’t remember that.” She stated softly.

“And I’ll tell you why.” Doctor Royce stated. “Because it did not happen that way. You were not attacked, you tried to attempt suicide, and you are in extreme denial which is not healthy for a woman who is already.....”

“Get out.” Ivy said in a low voice.

Doctor Royce let out a heavy sigh. “Look, may be we went about this the wrong way.” She stated.. “Maybe......”

“GET OUT!” Ivy screamed angrily taking a glass that sat on her table and throwing it at the doctor but missing.

Doctor Royce quickly stood and gathered her things. “I suppose things were moving two fast.” She said slipping her glasses on her face.

“JUST GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!” Ivy raged throwing one of her pillows at the doctor right as she exited Ivy’s bed room.

Katherine and Elizabeth Crane came rushing down the hall. “What happened?!” Katherine asked as they approached the doctor.

Doctor Royce shook her head. “I don’t think that she’s ready.” She stated. “She is still in major denial that it even happened.”

Elizabeth Crane pushed a stray strand of her blonde hair from her green eyes with a sad smile. “Thank you for coming.” She stated shaking the older woman’s hand.

“Of course.” The doctor stated as she descended the stairs.

“Some thanksgiving this will be.” Katherine stated. “Poor mother has lost her mind.”

Elizabeth shook her head “I don’t think so.” She stated.

Katherine looked to her sister confused. “What do you mean?” She asked. “What else could it be.”

“Oh come on Kat.” Elizabeth said using the Nic name her sister hated. “You know as well as I do that mother is not the type to do such a thing like kill herself. She’s stronger than that.”

Katherine, like her mother so often did raised an eye brow. “I suppose.” She stated. “What exactly are you getting at?” She asked.

“Well,” Elizabeth said going to the out side of mothers bedroom door but not opening it. “I believe her.”

Katherine’s entire face fell. “Excuse me?” She asked hoping she’d heard wrong. “When did you join the loony ben wagon?”

Elizabeth rolled her eyes. “I’m serious.” She stated. “I really think some body tried to kill mother.”

“Oh come on Elizabeth.” Katherine stated. “Even if you forget that fact that the house is filled with security people with guns and things, who would want to kill mother.”

Elizabeth gave her sister a look, and then Katherine nodded her head. “Okay fine, the list of people who would want to kill her or a mile long, but like I said, there is security all over the place.”

“Exactly.” Elizabeth agreed.

“Exactly what?” Katherine asked.

“The fact that security is all over the place means that it had to be some one on the inside of the house who would want to kill her.” Elizabeth stated.

Katherine shook her head. “You have seen way too many episodes of Scooby Doo.” She stated.

“Katherine think about it.” Elizabeth stated. “Nearly every one in this house hates each other.” She reminded her sister. “Ethan and Nicky, Sheridan and Father and....”

“Rebecca and Mother.” Katherine said as if a sudden reality was just hitting her.

“And Theresa.” Elizabeth reminded.

Katherine shifted some. “Well it does make sense.” She stated. “I mean Rebecca has tried more than her fair share of schemes to try and get the family fortune. I wouldn’t be surprise if she did doctor that fake tape of Edumb shooting Daddy.”

Elizabeth giggled some at her sisters remark about their brother. “So you see, it does fit.” She stated. “And at the time, I heard Rebecca was not to be found, and that Theresa and mother had a really intense argument earlier that evening.”

“So then it could be either one of them.” Katherine stated. She then shook her head. “What am I saying.” She said suddenly. “Elizabeth this is real life. Things like this only happen on shows like that silly soap opera you watch.”

“Days?” Elizabeth asked.
“The other one.” Katherine stated.

“Passions.” Elizabeth said matter of factly. Katherine nodded her head. “Well, may be it is a little off.” She stated. “I could just be letting my imagine run off with me.”

“Like you always do.” Katherine stated.

“Maybe I ......” Suddenly Elizabeth’s entire face paled and her eyes focused on some thing.

“What?” Katherine asked at her sisters expression “Do I have some thing on my face?”

“Oh my God.” Elizabeth said kneeling into the corner of the outside of her mothers bedroom.

Katherine watched as her sister knelt down and pulled some thing off the ground, and turned around with it in her hand. “An earring.” Katherine said taking it from her sisters hand. It was rather large, and it was obviously a woman’s. She then caught the look on her sisters face. “Oh no, Elizabeth.” She stated. “This means nothing, it’s probably mothers.”

“Oh please.” Elizabeth stated. “Mother would not be caught dead in some thing so tawdry and you know it.”

Katherine rolled her eyes. “Well fine then it’s for one of the servants.”

“No way.” Elizabeth stated. “It’s way too expensive, and mother and father do not pay them this much. Come on Katherine, it’s obvious that only one woman would where a piece of jewelry this big, just to bring attention to it.” and at the same time they said her name. “Rebecca.”
