You Made Me -Chapter Nine (Savy, Ethan, Nicholas)
by Heated fire

Grace Bennett paced the hospital room floor nervously. At this very moment her daughter was in a hospital room fighting for her life, and most likely she did not want any thing to do with her mother. Her words haunted her like ghost. Every argument, cruel name and every hated heated confrontation. She ran a frustrated hand through her hair. The very thought of losing a child......two children in one day destroyed her. Ivy had already taken John away from her, and her last child, and now Kay. Her first born daughter. The one she was supposed to have the special bond with. The one she would have that special bond with if not for Ivy and David’s interference. That’s when things really went bad. When David walked into their lives. Or was it.

All the pent up anger and frustration that Kay had may have come out when David arrived, but the truth is, whether Grace wanted to admit it or not, was that those feelings had been developing for many years. Her anger towards her mother and Jealously towards Charity. But she never put Charity first. She loved all her children equally. She did. She had to.

Ivy sat silently in her wheel chair next to Rebecca and Julian as she watched Grace pace, and Sam wring his hands nervously. What had she done? Was all she could ask herself. What had she become? In a word all she could think of was vengeful. That’s what she lived for now. Revenge. It was her vengeance that fuelled her to block out Ethan in hopes that he would dump Theresa so that she would have nothing. It was her vengeance that made her stay in the mansion to make Julian miserable by not divorcing him. It was her vengeance towards Grace for taking Sam from her that drove this obsession to get him back and rub it in her face, and now when she thought about it, if you wiped out vengeance, you wiped out Ivy. That’s all she was. Nothing more, nothing less. She was...evil?

NO! She quickly screamed in her head. She was not evil. She was just alone, and afraid. That’s all. That’s why she did what she did so she would not be alone. She could not be evil. It does not matter what Sam said, being a Crane had not changed her. She was still the same woman, she had to be. She was....wasn’t she?

Eve Russell stepped out of her office, a expression of shock and sadness written all over her face. “Eve?” Julian was the first to notice her and rushed over to her, Ivy, her children, Sheridan, The Lopez Fits Gerald’s, The Bennett’s and The Russell’s behind her. “How is she? How is Katherine?”

“And Kay, is she alright?” Grace asked taking Eve’s hand.

Eve looked up at the families and her heart began to shatter. “I am afraid I have some rather difficult news.” She stated.

“Is....is Katherine alright?” Elizabeth asked, her eyes red and swollen from crying. “She....she isn’t....”

“No!” Nicholas quickly snapped. “She isn’t! She’s fine!” He looked to Eve. “Tell her!” He demanded. “Tell her Katherine is fine!”

Eve nodded her head. “Yes.” She answered. “Physically, both Katherine and Kay are fine.” Eve answered.

“And the baby?” Pilar quickly added. “Is Kay’s baby still alright.”

A small smile played on Eve’s lips. “It has the stubbornness of a Lopez Fits Gerald because the child is fine.” She stated, her smile then faded.

“Well then I don’t understand.” Ivy stated. “You said that you had difficult news.”

Eve nodded her head. “Yes, I do.” She stated.

“Well what is it?” Julian asked. “If they are both okay.”

Eve took a breath as she began to ease into a tremendous blow that was bound to rock the hospital as well as Harmony. “Both Kay, and Kathleen did lose some blood and of course I went to that of the families.” She informed. “Only, there was a problem.”

“What problem?” Sam questioned.

“Well, at first I thought may be I switched the labels on the blood tubes when I second checked the type.” Eve stated.

“But that wasn’t it?” Ethan asked.

Eve shook her head. “No, it wasn’t.” She stated. “After running the test three more times I got the same results.”

“Eve please, just skip all the explanation and tell me what is wrong with my daughter!” Julian demanded nervously, trying to keep the edge from his voice but failing.

“But that’s what I am trying to say Julian.” Eve stated sadly. “Katherine isn’t your daughter, she’s not Ivy’s either.”

“What!?” Julian said confused.

Ivy frowned some at the thought, then looked to Eve. “How can that be?” She asked. “I gave birth to Katherine.”

Eve shook her head sadly. “No, you didn’t.” She stated. “Katherine was switched at birth with another baby.” Her eyes then fell on Sam and Grace. “And it was Kay Bennett.”

Grace gasped in shock and covered her mouth. Sam felt as though he had been hit by a ton of bricks. The blow came so hard that he had to fall to a chair near by. Ivy thought of doing the same thing, but then she was always sitting down. Julian seemed to be the only one who was able to speak.

“Eve,” His voice was soft, and to every one else surprisingly somewhat sad. “Are you sure?” He asked.

Eve nodded her head. “I ran the test three more times after I discovered the truth.” She stated.

“And...the results were the same?” Grace asked trembling.

“Yes.” Eve answered. “There is really no margin for error. Katherine is a Bennett, and Kay is a Crane.”

“Indeed she is.” A voice from behind took them all by surprise, and every one turned to see Alistair.

“Father?” Sheridan said narrowing her eyes. “You.” She said though gritted teeth. “You had some thing to do with this didn’t you?” She said as almost a demand.

“Not exactly.” Alistair stated. “I found out weeks after both the girls were taken in to their homes. You see I have spies every where, and they informed me of the hospitals mix up.”

“And all these years you’ve never sad a word!” Ivy said in shock and anger. “You let us all believe we were raising our own flesh and blood and you knew the truth?”

Alistair smirked some. “Doesn’t feel so good does it Ivy?” He asked. “Perhaps now you know how Julian and Ethan felt when you kept them from the truth.”

Ivy narrowed her eyes but said nothing. “God, you sick man.” Julian spoke up. “How could you do this?” He asked.

“Come now Julian I have done much worse.” Alistair stated smirking. “And besides that I did gain form this entire situation.”

“What?” Grace asked angrily. “What the hell could you have gained!”

“The first female Crane Heir.” Alistair informed.

“Excuse me?” Sam asked. “What are you talking about.”

“Why, young Kay Bennett of course.” Alistair stated. “Who shall go by her full name Kathleen when she heads the family empire.”

“The hell she will.” Sam snapped. “Kay is our daughter.” He said taking Grace’s shoulder. “A Bennett. She belongs with us. She loves us.”

“Oh please.” Alistair smiled. “Loves you? After the way she tore dear Grace apart at dinner I am surprised that you couldn’t see the Crane in her then. That girl is priceless and will make a beautiful addition to our dynasty.”

“No father.” Julian stated bluntly.

“Don’t bother fighting me Julian I have made up my mind.” Alistair stated pulling out one of his Cuban cigars.

“I am not fighting you I am telling you.” Julian stated shocking every one. “No. Katherine is my daughter. Ivy’s daughter too. She is the girl that we raised and called our own all these years and that is not going to change.”

Rolling his cigar in his hand Alistair felt his anger mounting. “Or you giving me an order?” He asked. “Have you lost your mind?”

“Only my cowardice.” Julian stated. “There is no way I am letting you rip the lives of those girls apart. They have gone though far too much already especially Kay.”

“Well you don’t have a choice.” Alistair stated. “You see as we speak, we already have an audience.” He said looking past them, causing the crowd to turn around and see Kay.

“Kay.” Grace said in a shocked breath. “Kay what are you doing out of your room?” She asked.

“I’m....I’m not yours.” Kay said in a shaky breath clutching her breath. “Oh....Oh God.” She said falling to her knees.

“Kay!” Sam yelled rushing over to her.

Eve began to rush over to them, but her arm was forcefully grabbed causing her to spin around and see T.C. “T.C. honey,” She said in a shocked breath. “Where have you been I...” For the first time she saw that look in his eyes. That animalistic look. That look that said he was ready to kill. “Honey is.....is some thing wrong.” She asked nervously.

Through gritted teeth he answered. “Yes.” He stated. “You are you lying, deceitful whore!” He snapped in a whisper.

Eve looked back at him. Trembling with fear. ‘This had to be a dream.’ She thought. ‘Just another dream.”. Eve looked into her husbands eyes, her eyes spilling over with tears, then they quickly caught some thing. Liz. Standing down the hall, a satisfied grin lit up on her face, and that’s when her worst fears were confirmed. He knew.
