Back in Time, Chapter 7
by ejcrane
TC soon found himself on the floor, unconscious, next to Julian, after
Eve hit him over the head with another champagne bottle.
“Julian! Julian!” Eve pulled up her dress as she cried out, “Are you okay,
sweetie?” she cradled his head in her lap.
Julian woke and Eve helped him up.
“Who is this maniac? He must have been following us, darling.” He rubbed
the back of his head, “We have to call the cops…”
Both Eve and Julian went into the room to change, and await the cops, but
when the cops knocked on the door, Eve and Julian came out to find TC missing.
He was nowhere to be found, nor, did anyone see him leave the hotel. Where
did he go…
Tc stumbled out the back door of that hotel. Damnit, what in the world
was wrong with Eve?! Not remembering him, then letting Julian Crane take
advantage of her, and then hitting him over the head with a bottle?! He
would find out soon! He would just get her alone and find out just what was
going on…
“Ohh, excuse me,” TC apologized to the gentleman he bumped into, “What
the hell?” he whispered and grabbed onto the shoulders of this young man.
“HEY! What do you think you’re doing?! Get you hands off of me!”
“It’s me…I mean, it’s me, but younger…”
“WHAT?! Fool, you ain’t making any sense!”
“TC?”
The man stopped talking and stared at TC…
“How, how do you know my name, mister? I don’t believe I’ve ever seen you
around here before.”
“I, I know your father,” TC said, trying to come up with a lie that made
sense, “In fact, I’m a distant relative of your father’s…”
“Yes…I can see the resemblance…” the younger version of TC paused as he
looked his older self over, “Well, I’m on my way home. You could come with
me and see my father…”
“NO!”
Young TC jumped back when TC shouted.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to shout…it’s just that, uh, I wanted to surprise
your father…so, uh, you won’t say anything to him, right?”
“I guess not,” he looked off to the side, “Well, I got to get going, I’ll
see you, Mister…Mr…”
“Oh, you can call me T…” he caught himself, “…Tj,” he finished.
“Tj?” he laughed, “That’s a little like my name…of course, you know that,”
he chuckled, “Well, I better get going…bye,” and young TC walked off.
“Now I know…now I know what I must do,” TC spoke aloud to himself.
That night, TC found himself spending the night in the car he had abandoned
on the side of the road. Why, he didn’t know, but he figured that this was
just a bad dream that he had had, and would most likely wake up in his driveway
the next morning…
But, TC didn’t wake up back in Harmony…he was still in Boston, back in
1979.
“Damnit,” he cursed as he sat up, “What time is it?” he looked to his wrist,
only to find that his watch wasn’t there.
TC crossed over from the backseat to the front and looked to the clock.
It seemed to have stopped.
“God, I just fixed this car last month!” he slammed his fist onto the dashboard,
hoping that it would cause the clock to work.
Then, something happened, something strange…
The numbers on the clock began turning until they finally stopped, and
that’s when Cc’s mouth dropped.
JUNE 19, 1979
12:37A.M.
Today was June 20, and when he found himself in this different world, was
at twelve thirty-seven last night. What did all of this mean?!
I’m giving this car to you, Son. It was always my favorite, but just remember…it’s
just for show; never drive this car…if you do, just remember…be very careful…
What did he father mean? At the time, TC never even paid attention to his
father’s warnings. Just knowing he was about to get this classic, everything
else didn’t matter to him. So, what the hell was this?! A time machine?!
TC snorted at his own thoughts and shook his head in embarrassment, but
then looked to the side. Well, how else could he explain what had happened?
It…it must be true…but how…how was he going to get back to the future? How
was he going to get back to his girls…his Eve?! And she WAS his, that he was
damn sure of!
Hours later, TC found himself walking back to the Mustang with a tank of
gas. He thought maybe that would do the trick, but once he got to driving,
he realized that it wasn’t working, well, figuratively speaking. The car
was getting around, but he was still stuck in 1979.
There! He spotted Eve and Julian coming out of their hotel. TC guessed
that since it was nighttime again, that Eve was headed to the club. He then
noticed something else…Julian kissed Eve goodbye and placed her into the
limo, and when she left, another limo came for him. He began to grow suspicious
so, he decided to follow Julian…and what he found just angered him even
more.
First he had Eve drinking and high on drugs, and then he had her giving
herself to him, and all the while…he was sneaking around behind her back with
none other than IVY WINTHROP?!
Ohh, that Julian was going to pay! He was going to pay for treating Eve
like that! TC was going to go back to the club and tell Eve exactly what he
saw…
But what if she wouldn’t believe him?
TC decided that that didn’t matter and turned his car around and headed
towards The Blue Note. Once he got there, he got out of his car and walked
up to the door, but once he opened it, two big strong men grabbed him and
shoved him out, telling him that he was not allowed in that club for harassing
one of their singers.
“But I have to tell Eve something…I have to tell…” he didn’t finish since
the doors had closed behind him and he was again, left alone in the dark.
He was afraid of that, but he did have another plan. A plan he was sure
would work.
Weeks later, when he found Julian again with Ivy, TC got on the phone and
called the club and left a message for Eve…that Julian wanted her to meet
him at a certain hotel room.
Eve was so excited, she hadn’t seen Julian in days, due to his very busy
schedule at Crane Industries. So, that night, she fixed herself up nicely
and put on the special perfume that Julian had declared drove him wild…
She took one last look in the mirror and then left…left to meet the man
she had come to love…
Eve arrived at the hotel, and took a breath just before she stepped off
the elevator. She found the room and was about to knock, when she realized
that she wanted to surprise Julian, so she reached for the knob and turned
it. Thank goodness it was open, for she didn’t want him to know she was there.
Once inside, Eve heard the shower running and smiled. Julian was showering
and she was going to join him. Tip-toeing to the bathroom, Eve opened up
the door and walked in…
“Ohh, Julian, darling…” she said cheerily as she whipped back the shower
curtain…only to find…to find Ivy Winthrop in his arms, with her legs wrapped
around him…and they were soaking wet, “Julian?” she whimpered as a tear
left her eye and trailed down her face, “How could you?”
“Eve!” he gasped, “It’s not…it’s not wha…” he didn’t finish for Eve turned
and ran out of the bathroom and out of the hotel room, “EVE, WAIT, DARLING!”
Ivy stepped out of the shower and yawned. She wondered what Sam was doing
at the moment.
“So, that’s the b*tch you’ve been seeing?” she laughed, “Never did I think
you’d look in that direction…” she simply said and began putting on her
clothes again.
Julian ignored her and ran out of the bathroom, and out of his room to
catch up with Eve in the hallway. He didn’t care if anyone saw him naked,
he just wanted to explain things to Eve; he needed to make her understand,
but he was too late. The doors to the elevator shut, and so did the door
to his room.
“Ivy, come on, damnit!” he pounded on the door, “I’m naked here…” he shouted,
“B*tch…” he muttered.
“Oh, Julian, dear, how nice of you to stop by,” she laughed as she opened
the door and let him in.
“I’ve got to get dressed and go and talk to Eve.”
Outside of The Blue Note, TC was ready. It hurt him to see Eve rush by
in tears, but it had to be done; it was for her own good.
“I wonder what was the matter with that girl, did you see her crying?”
the younger TC asked his “distant relative”.
“I wonder too,” TC lied, “You know, that’s why I asked you here. You see,
I’m not allowed in this club because of…of…my age, yeah, my age,” he paused,
“And I’ve noticed how that woman’s boyfriend treats her, and I just wanted
to know how she was. That’s why I brought you here with me; I was thinking
you could talk to her. She’d probably feel more comfortable with you, since
you’re around her age. What do you say?” he asked as he whipped out one-hundred
dollars.
During that week, TC was penniless and went to a local antique/collectors
store where he showed the man his new authentic twenty dollar bill. When
it was proven that the twenty was printed on U.S. treasury paper, the man
gave TC a large sum for his bill.
“It wouldn’t hurt to talk to that poor girl,” the young Tc said sincerely
and took the money from his cousin, “I’ll be back…”
Thirty minutes later, TC watched as Julian pulled up to the night club
and walk in. A mischievous grin appeared on his face as he sneaked in the
back way.
Julian walked in, only to find Eve talking to this other guy their age…wait
a minute! That was TC RUSSELL! He was trying to take away the title of the
tennis champion from Julian, but that didn’t matter at the moment, HE WAS
TALKING TO EVE was what mattered!
Eve then looked towards the door and met Julian’s eyes. She then did something
that she knew was going to be a mistake, only because she didn’t want to
hurt or lead this nice young gentleman on, but she pulled Tc into a long
and hot kiss, and never thought she’d feel a rush coming over her when she
pulled from him.
She glanced back over to the doorway and read Julian’s face. His eyes said
it all…
He had lost her…lost her for good. Julian took in a breath, looked down,
then took one last look at Eve before he turned around and left The Blue
Note…
“Whoa, what was that for,” TC asked this wonderful woman that was suddenly
in his arms.
“Uh, uh,” she looked back to him, “I appreciate that you’ve listened to
me, during this sad time in my life,” she began pulling away, but was startled
as TC pulled her back into his arms and kissed her once again.
Eve never fought him. It had felt good…right. Maybe this was what she needed.
Maybe HE was what she needed…
In the back, TC rubbed his hands together as he smiled. Now, all he needed
to do was find a way to get back to the future…
