The Best Laid Plans-Chapter 56
“ Hello.”
“ Hiya brother.”
“ Jax. What’s up?”
“ I called to tell you that Sasha is out of the coma. She should be fine.”
” I know. The people that I have there, already contacted me as soon as she came out of it. Are they sure that she’s going to be alright?”
“ Yes. She’ll need more rest, but, it’s a miracle that she’s going to live.”
” Sasha always was a survivor. But, this call isn’t about Sasha, is it?”
“ Not really.”
“ What’s bothering you, Jasper?”
“ Dara. We’ve broken up.”
“ Sorry to hear it, mate. What can I do?”
” I think it can wait. Are you going to be in Argentina for the next couple of days?”
“ Yep.”
“ Then, I’ll be airborn within the hour.”
” I’ll get a room ready for you.”

“ Bobbie, did you say you wanted a divorce as soon as possible? I don’t understand.”
“ Alicia. I need out of this marriage. And, I need out...NOW!”
“ Bobbie, what’s changed? When you first came to me, you were one of the most determined clients that I’ve ever had.”
“ I know. But, circumstances have changed. And, I want a divorce from Stefan.”
” You know that he’s been refusing a settlement. If you divorce him, you’ll get nothing.”
“ I have everything I could want or need from Stefan. What I want now, is to put as much legal distance between the two of us. I’ve been planning a life change, Alicia. I’m going to move to Seattle.”
” Seattle?”
“ Yes. A good friend of mine is now Supervisor of Nursing at one of the big medical centers out there, and she told me of a position that would be perfect for me. A lot has happened, and I think I need to start over. And, Seattle is as good a place as any.”
” I’ve been there. It’s a nice place to live. Bobbie, has something happened? Is Stefan threatening you? If he is..”
” No. Stefan has not been threatening me. It’s just time to let go. Negotiate for your legal services. You can pad it all you want.”
” It’s not a matter of my bill. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the thought of losing millions in a settlement doesn’t make me happy. But, I am getting the strong impression that I don’t know the entire score. And, that makes me very unhappy Bobbie.”
” Alicia. You know the score. I don’t want to fight anymore. Life is entirely too short for this to all matter. I should just count this as one of life’s lessons and learn from it. So, you’ll proceed on the matter?”
“ I’ll get on it right away.”
“ Good. The faster that I’m free, the sooner I can get on with my life. Thanks, Alicia. Bye.”
“ Bye Bobbie.”

Carly and Jason are on the couch at Sonny’s Penthouse.
“ Are you sure that Sonny and Brenda won’t disturb us?”
” Carly, I know I can trust you. So, I’m telling you. Sonny and Brenda are gone. It’s just the two of us here. We’ve been sitting like this for a couple of hours. All you’ve done is cry, wipe your nose, look at me like you’re about to say something, and then start crying again.”
“ Ok. Jason, I’m in a LOT of trouble.”
” What kind of trouble?”
“ The ‘up-to-my-neck’ kind of trouble. Well, you know I told Tony that you were the father of the baby.”
” Yeah, you told me that a few days ago. Along with all the rest of the stuff in your life: Bobbie, AJ, the drugging, sonogram. All that stuff. So, what’s happened since then?”
” Bobbie knows who I am.”
” She KNOWS?”
” Yes.”
” How did she find out?”
” I told her.”
“ Wow. I didn’t think you were going to tell her.”
” I hadn’t planned on it...but....but...” Carly bursts into tears again.
“ Carly, calm down. Just tell me what happened.”
“ You know, I don’t know what happened. Bobbie and I were in the middle of a fight, and she was needling me, and, it just came out. It was harsh, cold, cruel, vindictive. I really toasted her. I saw the look in her eyes, as it wandered from denial to disbelief. I knocked her out. I could see that. I destroyed her.................. I used to think that she deserved to find out in the worst way possible. That, it would be my pleasure to tell her that way. I would dream about it. But, you wanna know something?”
” What?”
” It didn’t feel the way I thought it would. It didn’t feel good at all. Quite the opposite. I felt lousy. And, sick to my stomach. I had to ask myself, why? Why did I want it that way?”
“ Did you come up with an answer?”
” Yeah. I was punishing her for giving me up for adoption. When I first came to town, I did everything I could to get myself into Bobbie’s life. I was hoping that she would recognize me. That she’d just have this overwhelming cosmic knowledge that I was her daughter. That she’d take me in her arms, after begging my forgiveness.”
“ Carly, I don’t mean to sound cruel. But, you sound whacked. Bobbie Spencer is supposed to recognize you, years later, after only spending a few minutes with you, as an infant? Do you realize how wild that is?”
“ Yeah...but, I wasn’t thinking with logic.”
” That’s for sure.”
“ You’re a big help.”
“ I want to be, Carly. But, you’ve been after Bobbie, because she wasn’t some Superhero-slash-psychic.”
” I don’t need for you to be on her side, too.”
” I’m not on anybody’s side. So, what are going to do now?”
“ What can I do?”
“ You think Bobbie will want a relationship with you?”
“ No. I wouldn’t want a relationship with me.”
“ OK. So, I’ll ask you this. Do YOU want a relationship with HER?”
Before Carly could answer that, there was a knock on the door.
” Yeah.”
” Mr. Morgan. Someone out here to see Ms. Roberts.”
Carly goes over to the door. She opens it to find a gentleman.
“ May I help you?”
” Are you Carly Roberts?”
” Yes.”
He gives her a piece of paper. “ Consider yourself served.”
Carly takes the paper and reads it.
“ What is it Carly?”
” It’s Tony. He’s suing for custody of the baby.”
