The Best Laid Plans-Chapter 59
“CARLY!?”
“ Yes, Carly.”
“ Jason, why?”
“ Because, she’s going to have a baby.”
” I see. Well then, I guess it’s true.”
” What?”
” I had heard a couple of the nurses gossiping. They said that Carly had moved out of Dr. Jones’ apartment. And, that she had named you as the father of her baby. I didn’t want to believe it. Carly lives with you?”
” Yes.”
” And, she told Dr. Jones that you were the baby’s father?”
” Yes.”
“ Jason, what about Robin?”
” This doesn’t concern Robin.”
” Jason, this baby was conceived during the time that you were going out with Robin. Don’t you think that she would see it that way?”
” This baby is between me and Carly.”
” Jason, did Carly ask you to marry her? Is she trying to trap you, using the baby?”
” Emily, it wasn’t Carly’s idea for marriage. It was mine. I know what I am doing. I would not have asked her, if I wasn’t serious. So, will you stand up as a witness?”
” When?”
” Today. In about 90 minutes.”
” Jason, isn’t this too soon?”
” No.”
“ You really want me there? I would need to go home and change.”
” Why? They would only get suspicious. And the last thing I need, is Quartermaines coming to this. I’ll have Rinaldo take you to Wyndam’s. You can pick up everything you need there. And can change either there, or at the Penthouse. So, you coming?”
” Sure, Jason. If you want me there, I’ll be there. Come on, I need to go shopping.”
Carly and Jason leave the Pediatric Playroom.

Carly is in her room getting dressed when Emily knocks on the door.
“ Come in.”
” Hi Carly.”
” Emily! I’m glad to see you.”
“ You are?”
” Yes. I just wanted to thank you, ahead of time, for doing this.”
“ Carly. I don’t know you. But, what I do know, I can’t say that I like.”
” Well, that’s honest.”
“ I believe in honesty. It exists between me and Jason. I saw how he looked at Robin when they were together. That he would cheat on her, with you, is something I can’t quite grasp yet. Even though,” Emily points to Carly’s stomach, “ the proof is right in front of my eyes.”
” Emily....”
“ I’m going to try and keep an open mind, Carly. Because, I love my brother. And, because he says that it was HIS idea for the marriage.”
” It was.”
“ But, you aren’t exactly reluctant about it.”
” No, Emily, I’m not. My baby needs his father.”
” His? You know it’s a boy?”
” No. I don’t know. But, girl or boy, it couldn’t have a better father than Jason.”
” On that, we agree. Well, it’s getting time. Do you have all the traditions covered? Old, New, Borrowed, Blue?”
“ Yes.”
“ Then, I guess it’s time to go. And Carly?”
” Yes, Emily.”
” I love my brother. You better treat him right.”
“ I plan to.”
Carly and Emily go downstairs. Jason smiles at Carly as she’s coming down the stairs. Jason thinks she looks beautiful, in an off-white maternity two piece suit. Jason is dressed quite well, in a dark blue tailored suit. With a tie even. Mike is there. Jason hands Carly some roses.
“ Doesn’t every woman getting married have a bouquet?”
“ Yes, but....”
“ But nothing. So, you wanna go get hitched?”
Carly takes Jason’s arm and then stops. “ Mike, Emily, can you go down to the car? Jason and I have something to discuss.”
“ Sure.”, they say in unison, and leave.
Carly sits down at the dining area table.
“ What’s wrong, Carly?”
” Jason, why are you doing this?”
“ You’re the best friend I have outside of Sonny. And, you’re in need. You said it yourself, Carly. To the outside world, you’re nothing but an unemployed, single, homewrecker. You marry me, and it won’t matter that you don’t have a job. If we need to make something up, I can have you hired by the legitimate side of my business, as an assitant, who handles things for me at LUKE’s. As for being poor, I have money. And single, you’re providing a home with two parents for the kid. Carly, I don’t do anything I don’t want to. You understand me and my life. You say you can deal with it, and I think that you can. So, I think we can work from there. I’ll only stay married as long as you want me to.”
“ OK Jason, then let’s go and get hitched.”

Nikolas has in hand the picnic basket that Pryce had brought from Wyndemere. He was planning to have lunch with Sasha. He knew that Sasha wanted to talk about his visit to Laura,and Nikolas didn’t know what to say. To explain what he had learned. He walked into the room, “ Sasha?”
Nikolas checked the room out. He went into the hallways, where he ran into Amy.
” Amy, have you seen my cousin, Sasha?”
“ Well, I did see her dressed and getting on an elevator with that assistant of hers.”
” Mai? I thought that she wasn’t supposed to be walking around.”
” She isn’t. But, she left.”
” Maybe it was just a walk around the grounds. I’ll go back to her room.”
” Fine. See you Nikolas.”
” Bye, Amy.”
Nikolas goes back into her room, and waits another 30 minutes. He calls Wyndemere, and no Sasha. He has Stefan paged, who immediately arrives in Sasha’s room.
“ Nikolas, why did you have me paged? Where is Katya?”
“ That’s the point, Uncle. Sasha is missing.”
“ Missing? What do you mean?”
“ She isn’t here, Uncle.”
” Have you checked the grounds?”
” Yes. I called Hospital Security and had them do a search for her. Nothing.”
“ Wyndemere?”
“ No.”
“ Let me try something.” Stefan takes out his cell phone. “ This is Stefan Cassadine. I would like to know if the jet for Anastasia Cassadine is in the hanger. Fine. I will hold on......Thank you.”
“ Well, Uncle?”
“ Her jet took off over an hour ago. The flight plan said Greenland.”
“ Oh.”
“ Yes. A dummy flight plan. Katya didn’t want for anyone to know where she was going. What could be so important that she would risk her recovery by leaving the hospital?”
” I don’t know, Uncle. I don’t know.”
Aboard her jet, Sasha was on the couch. Mai had just placed a blanket on her.
” You know your Father and cousin will be worried about you.”
” I know. When we arrive at our destination, I will call and tell them that I am fine.”
” Are you?”
“ I will be. It’s been so long since I’ve been there. Seems like an eternity.”
“ Well, we’ll be there soon enough.”
“ You know why I HAD to go now.”
“ Yes. And, all the arrangements have been made.”
“ I’ve never missed her birthday. And, I don’t intend to start now.”

Mike, Emily, Jason and Carly are in front of the Justice of the Peace.
“ Do you Jason, take Caroline to be your lawfully wedded wife?”
” I do.”
” Do you Caroline, take Jason to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
” I do.”
” Will you exchange the rings?”
“ Well, by the power bestowed on me by the state of New York, I would like to pronounce you, man and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
Carly and Jason kiss awkwardly. Mike and Emily throw a little rice on them.
They are all silent as they go back to the Penthouse. There is a little dinner waiting for them. The table has been beautifully setup for 4. There are candles everywhere. It’s very romantic.
” Wow, Jason, I didn’t expect all of this.”
” I guess Graciela made you happy?”
” Yes. Oh Jason...”, Carly begins to cry.
“ Hey, Carly, no need for tears. This is supposed to be a good day. And, it was.”
“ You don’t have any regrets?”
“ None. Why should I? I asked YOU, Carly. Not the other way around.”
” Jason, I don’t know how I’ll ever...WHOAH!”
“ What?”
” It’s the baby. It kicked. You want to feel it?”
” Can I?”
” Sure. Just put your hand right here.” Carly takes Jason’s hand and places it on her stomach. When the baby kicks again, Jason’s eyes light up.
“ That was the baby?”
“ Yes. “
” He’s strong.”
” Why do you think it’s a boy?”
” I don’t know.”
” Will you be disappointed, if it’s a girl?”
“ Carly, it’s not my place to be disappointed. I just want it safe, healthy and with you.”
“ Thank you, Jason. For everything.”
“ No problem.”
Jason and Carly walk back to the table to eat when the phone rings.
“ Graciella, will you get that? Take a message. I’m busy right now.”
“ Mr. Morgan’s residence. Graciella speaking.”
” Hi. I wanted to speak to Jason.”
” I’m sorry, but Mr. and Mrs. Morgan are in the middle of dinner and don’t want to be disturbed.”
” EXCUSE ME?! Mr. and MRS. Morgan?”
” Yes.”
” No message.”
Robin Scorpio hangs up the phone, completely stunned.

Sasha was in the Rolls that was waiting for them when they arrived at the airport. She was relaxed, but excited. It has been too long since she’d seen her. But, they would take time now, to get to know one another once again.
The car rolled up the driveway to the estate. The car had barely stopped when Sasha got out of the car. She rushed into the house.
” Tia? Tia?”
“ In here.”
The voice came from the parlor. Sasha rushed into the parlor. She froze the instant she arrived. She literally couldn’t move. Her blood ran cold.
“ She was right.”
“ She was right.”
“ Pardon me, Tia, what did you say?”
” I said, the nice lady was right. She told me that you were coming, and she even brought me a new dress to wear. Isn’t it pretty Mummy?”
“ Yes.....Tia, why don’t you go tell Penelope that we will be having tea and scones outside.”
“ Alright, Mummy. “ Tia leaves the room. There is a silence. And Sasha finally speaks.
“ Hello, Grandmother.”
