“ You want me to get Barbara to give birth in Greece. Why?”
“ Because, the rules for custody, in Greek courts, overwhelmingly favor the Father over the Mother. Even with a US Court granting Bobbie custody, those papers would not apply to Greek laws.”
” I doubt that Barbara will want to go to Greece .”
” I know that, Stefan. But, I told you, it would be the best situation for you. So, are you going to tell Nikolas and Sasha?”
” Of course. I believe both of them will be happy.”
” I don’t know, Stefan. Both of them are so accustomed to having your undivided attention, that it might take some getting used to sharing you.”
” I have faith, Alexis.”

Nikolas is walking through the ER in order to deliver some paperwork when he sees Luke Spencer rushing in with a gurney. It only takes a minute for him to recognize..
“ Bobbie?”
” Scram Nikky. They need to help her.”
” What’s wrong with her?” No one answers Nikolas’ question, because Bobbie is rushed into a room.
Joe Scanlon and Ellen Burgess come in.
” What’s wrong here?”, Ellen asks the EMT.
“ Dr. Burgess. She is in the middle of a high-risk pregnancy, and began to have stomach cramps.”, Frank Scanlon says.
“ Bobbie, who’s your attending?”
” Help me....Newman...and Swanson over at Mercy...OOOwww. Save my baby.”
“ We are going to try. Mr. Spencer, leave.”
” I’ve got to be near my sister.”
” Not now. LEAVE.”
Luke leaves and looks inside the room from the glass window. He watches as they hook up Bobbie to numerous IV’s and several monitors. People keep on going in and out of the room with speed. Luke sees, after a few minutes, what looks like another doctor go into the room.
“ Spencer. What’s wrong with Bobbie?”
” She’s sick.”
“ Why can’t you just answer the question?”
” Because, I don’t KNOW what’s wrong with Bobbie. Now, scram. You don’t want Bobbie in your life, so why pretend that you care.”
” I DO care for Bobbie. But, I think it’s rich that you’re sitting up here, posturing. After all, it’s YOUR lies that put Bobbie in here.”
“ You don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.”
“ Oh, don’t I? Like I imagined that Bobbie almost took a flying leap off General Hospital, after finding out about your treachery with Carly Roberts?”
” That’s a DAMN LIE! Bobbie would never try and kill herself. She’s too strong.”
” Yeah, she is strong. But, everyone has a breaking point, and I guess finding out that her worst enemy is her daughter and her brother helped make it so, would try even the strongest.”
“ If Bobbie was desperate to jump Nikki, then why didn’t she?”
” Because Uncle and I stopped her. Because, we care about Bobbie.”
“ Whatever. She was a pawn. For Stefan, she was a pawn against me. And for you, Bobbie was the best pawn you ever had against Laura.”
” That’s a lie, Spencer. I LOVE Bobbie. She’s the only person in this town, from the beginning, who ever saw me as a human being. And my Uncle cares about her too.”
“ Yeah, right.”
” Well, I’ve got better things to do, than to stand here, listening to your insults, while Bobbie is hurt.”
” Then SCRAM!”
Nikolas walks away, glaring at Luke.

Alexis and Stefan are getting off the launch when they see Mrs. Lansbury.
” Mrs. Lansbury, why are you here?”
” There was a phone call, Sir. From a Mr. Mac Scorpio. He said to tell you that Mrs. Cassadine had been taken to the hospital.”
” Alexis, let’s go.”
Stefan and Alexis get back on the launch.

There is a knock on the Penthouse Door. Rinaldo comes in. Carly is sitting on the couch, thinking about the events of the day.
” Yes, Rinaldo?”
” A Dr. Quartermaine is here to see you.”
” Alan?”
” No. The other Dr. Quartermaine.”
“ Oh... Well, send her in.”
Monica comes in.
“ Hello, Dr. Quartermaine.”
” Carly. Or do I call you Mrs. Morgan? Or the name we know both suits you: tramp extraordinaire.”
“ So. I see you’ve heard the good news.”
“ Good News? What planet do you live on, Carly? You’re a walking parasite, who has managed to get her hooks not into one, but BOTH of my sons. You are the worst thing that COULD have happened to either one of them. I don’t know what they were thinking. I guess we both know what they were thinking with...When I think of what they had, in Keesha and Robin, when compared to you...well, there’s no accounting for men’s sexual desires.”
” Hey, Lady. I don’t have to take this from you.”
” She’s right. She DOESN’T have to take this from you.” Carly and Monica turn to find Jason there. Jason goes up to Monica.
” Why are you here?”
” Because, I heard that you had gotten married.”
” And, that’s any of your business. If I had wanted it to be your business, I would have invited you. I didn’t. That should tell you something.”
” Jason..”
” Monica, stop. Before you even start. You insulted my wife, to her face, in HER home. That’s what this is. You do understand. This is her home. And, I want you to apologize to her.”
” APOLOGIZE? To Carly?”
” Yes.”
” I don’t think so.”
“ Then, it’s time to leave. RINALDO!”
Rinaldo comes in the door. “ Yes, Boss?”
” Dr. Quartermaine is leaving now.” To Monica, “ One more thing, until you can show Carly some respect as my wife, don’t even think about coming around here. Goodbye, Monica.”
“ Jason.”
Monica leaves.
“ Jason, you didn’t have to do that. I was fine, by myself. “
” I know you can take care of yourself, Carly. But, she had no right. She’s just like the rest of them: they think they can walk into a place, and order people around. You’re my wife, Carly. And, in THIS house, you run things.”
“ Jason. I run things? Come on.”
“ No. It may sound , what, old-fashioned, but, I don’t want to do it. So, you run the house. If you want to hire someone..”
“ No. I don’t mind running the house.”
” And doing Luke’s books?”
” You know, I love the thought of being in Luke’s face all the time.”
Jason laughs. “ I can see the glint in your eye.”
“ I’m tired Jason. I’m going to go to sleep. I was thinking about redecorating the other bedroom as a Nursery. You want to go shopping with me?”
“ No, Carly. I am NOT a shopper. “
“ Well, Jason, don’t state the obvious. If you were, you would have more than two leather jackets and 10 t-shirts to your name. You know, after the nursery, I think you’ll be my next project.”
” I don’t want to be a project.”
” It’d be more fun than you’ve seen in a long time.” Carly goes to Jason and kisses him on the cheek. “ Thank you, Jason.”
” For what?”
“ Everything.”

Stefan comes into the Emergency Room. He goes up to Amy.
“ Amy. Where is Barbara? AMY?”
” Stefan, Calm down. She’s in ER 3. But...”
Stefan rushes to the room. He sees Luke there.
” Why am I not surprised to see you here.”
” I’m Bobbie’s brother. Why wouldn’t I be here.”
Nikolas rushes up. “ Uncle, Alexis. “
“ Nikolas. How’s Barbara?”
” I don’t know. The doctors have been in with her for awhile now, Uncle. Do you know what could be wrong with her?”
At that moment, Ellen Burgess comes out.
“ Dr. Burgess, how is Barbara?”
“ Mr. Cassadine, I was going to go call you. Bobbie wants you in there.”
Stefan walks into the room. Ellen stops the rest from entering.
” Dr. Newman, Dr. Swanson, Stefan Cassadine.”
“ Mr. Cassadine.”, they both say and shake his hand.
Stefan goes over to Bobbie, who looks very weak. He quietly takes her hand. Bobbie looks up with a look of gratitude on her face.
Dr. Swanson starts. “ Mr. Cassadine, you may not know it, but I am a physician on staff at Mercy Hospital. I am an OB-GYN, who specializes in high-risk pregnancies. Bobbie’s is one. I did a series of tests on Bobbie only a couple of weeks ago. At that point, everything was proceeding so well, I was completely optimistic for the chances of Bobbie to carry to 32 weeks, which is the longest that any of these types of pregnancies have carried.
I no longer have such optimism.
I don’t know what happened, but, you are in serious danger of losing this baby. You have such a small piece of the uterus left, that any serious shift of the fetus will mean detachment..and..”
” Stillbirth.”, Bobbie ends the sentence.
“ Yes.”
” So, there’s no hope for my baby?”, Bobbie says.
” I didn’t say that. But, it will be difficult.”
” You name it, I’ll do it.”
” Alright. You need complete bedrest from now on. I mean it, Bobbie. You will be sitting down ALL the time. If you need to get anywhere, do it in a wheelchair. Next, you need as little stress as possible. NONE. NOTHING that upsets you should be around. “
” I can do bedrest. I can.”
“ That’s not all, Bobbie. We’ve detected the beginning stages of Toxemia.”
“ I see. “
“ What is this toxemia?”, Stefan inquires.
“ Simply put, it’s blood poisoning. We can try by diet and some drugs to keep it under control. But, sometimes, you just can’t.”
” And, if cannot control it.”
“ Then, Stefan, we will have to make a choice. Isn’t that right, Dr. Swanson?”
“ Yes, Bobbie. A choice may have to be made.”
“ Is there anything else?”
” No. I believe that I have given you as honest a picture as I can of the situation. Dr. Newman and I will leave you to discuss things. Goodbye, Mr. Cassadine. Bobbie.”
“ Thank you, Doctor. Barbara and I appreciate your work.”
Dr. Swanson is barely out the door when Luke is in her face.
“ Doctor. I couldn’t help but overhear.”
“ And, who are you?”
” The name is Spencer. Luke Spencer. I’m Bobbie’s brother. When you said, make a choice, are you telling me that my sister could die if she continues with the pregnancy? That it’s a real possibility. That this isn’t some medical overexaggeration.?”
” You know, Mr. Spencer. I don’t exaggerate. Yes, your sister can die. It isn’t outside the realm of possibility. If you’ll excuse me.”
“ One more question. Let’s say, she does all of this and the baby still doesn’t get here. Can she still die?”
” Yes. The further this pregnancy goes, even if the decision is made to save your sister over the baby, there are no guarantees that it will work.”
” So, the only way to insure that my sister is around, is for her to have an abortion as soon as possible.”
” Yes. Medically speaking, an abortion is the one option that would insure Bobbie’s health. Goodbye, Mr. Spencer.”
” Thanks, Doc.”
