Crooked Halos Ch. 15 Chadresa
by LilAngelGirl .
Theresa stood at Chad’s bedroom door, Charity Standish had told her
to go on up, yet she couldn’t help but sense tension in the air as she
spoke with Charity.
She peeped in and saw Chad sitting on his bed, his head in his hands.
"Chad?" She asked opening the door slightly.
"Yeah, Resa come on in." He said jumping up off the bed.
"Charity said I could come up, you don’t mind do you?" She asked chewing
on her bottom lip.
"Of course not."
Theresa smiled as she shut the door behind her. "Chad, I’m sorry."
"Sorry?" He questioned. "For what?"
"For everything! I know you’re nothing like Julian, son or not." She
said looking at him, her eyes red from the tears she had cried.
Chad smiled nervously, "What are you saying Resa?"
Theresa turned away from Chad, looking around the messy room he had
been staying in. "I don’t want us to end." She said easily, "I can’t let
you go Chad, I’m so sorry for everything."
Chad felt his stomach flop. What had he done? He had kissed Charity,
and now, now the woman he loved wanted to start over. "You mean you wanta
try again?" He asked.
Theresa turned to look at him. "When I ran, it was because I didn’t
want to hurt you. The way I am, you deserve more than that." She frowned.
"After Julian pulled his stunt, and Ethan ran off, I was crushed, I stopped
trusting. Then we started dating, But Chad I couldn’t trust you. " She
said shaking her head. "So I just ran. I honestly believed that I would
never be able to be someone you deserve. "
"Resa, I told you already, you’re all I want." Chad insisted walking
over to her.
"And I know that. Its just that, I knew you were Julian’s son, and
I don’t know, I suppose in my mind, I forced myself to believe you were
like him, it made things easier."
‘It made running easier?" He questioned.
She nodded her head. "Sounds crazy doesn’t it? Well, what can I say,
I am crazy." She frowned.
"No, no you’re not! Don’t ever say that again baby."
"Chad, do you forgive me?"
He grinned. "I have nothing to forgive."
She nodded slowly, "I’m so sorry I doubted you."
Chad frowned. "Theresa, I need to be honest with you." He began.
She tilted her head "Honest? How so?"
"I did something, something I regret now, but I have to tell you."
He swallowed.
Theresa stepped back, "Chad you’re scaring me." She whispered her eyes
looking up at him fear showing in them.
"I don’t know how to say it, but I’m just going to be blunt. I kissed
Charity tonight." He said looking over at Theresa, a small gasp coming
from her mouth as she began to frown.
"You kissed her?" Theresa said her voice shocked and hurt.
"I thought I had lost you."
"So you just kissed someone else?" Theresa questioned.
"It ain’t like that. Charity is one of my best friends, she’s gettin’
her memory back, and had this flash about her dad dying. We just kissed,
I can’t explain it, and I won’t defend it, but it happened."
"I can’t believe you’d do that."
Chad shook his head. "I’m sorry, I really am."
Theresa stared at him, her eyes angry. "Oh really? Well did you enjoy
it?"
Chad stood silent for a moment, then looked at Theresa. "You know what?
It was a nice kiss. You want me to lie about it Resa? Cause I won’t. I
am standing her being honest with you, after all that we’ve been through,
I could’ve let it go and just never told you about that kiss."
"Yeah, well you’ve told me! I guess I was right! I can’t trust you."
She yelled.
"You can’t trust me?" He asked. "I have been following you all over
the world, trying to make things right with you, and each time you just
run away or send me off feeling like a no body. So I’m sorry if I was here
tonight with Charity, and I’m sorry if she listened to me, and understood.
Yeah we kissed, then we both felt horrible about it!"
"Chad, I, I don’t know what to say." Theresa said shocked.
"Say you understand that I’m human Theresa. I’m not perfect, no one
is. I made a mistake but its over and done."
Theresa lowered her head. "You don’t have feelings for her?" She whispered.
"No! She’s a friend and that’s it. I love you, and only you."
"I love you too Chad. I’m sorry about everything."
Chad walked over and hugged Theresa. "Baby don’t be sorry. Its all
going to be okay."
"So we can make this work?" She questioned her eyes connecting with
his. "I need you Chad. I really do."
"Of course we’ll make it work. Baby I need you, and I’m not letting
you go again."
Theresa smiled. "I missed you so much Chad. I couldn’t stand being
away from you." She said tears starting to form in her chocolate eyes.
"Don’t worry about that now. We can start over."
Theresa felt a warm smile dance on her lips, "I like the sound of that."
Chad grinned, as he lowered his head, kissing Theresa’s lips softly.
"So do I baby." He whispered looking at her, then his lips fell to hers
once more.
