Ch.4
Chad looked at Charity then back at Bray. " I thought you two would
get along."
"He knocked me down." Charity yelled.
"You rammed into me." Bray huffed.
"Couldn’t you have said something? You saw me coming didn’t you?"
"I thought you would know not to just crash into someone. Most people
are smarter than that. "
"So now you’re calling me dumb?" Charity asked staring up into his
crystal blue eyes.
Bray moved his hand over his black hair, " I didn’t say that you did."
"Hey will you two cut it out?" Chad asked. "I’ve gotta get some rest
then go find Theresa. Can you two just try to get along?"
Charity glared up at Bray, "Whatever." She muttered.
"Yeah fine." Bray shrugged.
Chad smiled. "Now can we get this show on the road?"
Charity walked next to Chad as Bray lead them to his car.
"How old is this thing?" Charity asked eyeing the car.
"This thing is a 69’ Mustang. It’s a classic. Totally redone." Bray
informed Charity glaring back at her.
"And of course you had to paint it red, I mean that’s so typical."
She said rolling her eyes.
"Candy Apple Red to be exact and yes it’s typical, because people LIKE
it. It’s called style, you do know what that is right?" Bray asked.
"Of course I do. " Charity said climbing into the back of the car as
Chad and Bray got in also.
Bray looked back at Charity, "In case you’re wondering I also have
a brand new Jeep at home. This is just my baby." He smiled.
Chad laughed. "Man, you’ve done good."
"I told ya I would. And I did." Bray bragged.
Charity slumped back and crossed her arms. Looking at Brayden she rolled
her eyes. His smile gleamed out at her, he was a classic pretty boy she
thought to herself. She almost knew he had a comb on him, and she could
just see him being one of those guy’s who carried a mirror in his back
pocket. She watched Chad laugh at something he had said. How could someone
like Chad be friend’s with a guy so full of himself? She figured by his
look’s he was in some sort of boy band. A undiscovered boy band of course.
She knew this guy could never have vocal’s on him like the other groups
she liked. . No he was just a wanta be. He reminded her of Miguel, totally
self asorbed. Turning her eyes to Chad she smiled. Now Chad Harris was
a real man. He didn’t hide behind fancy things, and didn’t try to use some
fake smile to win people over. Chad was a good man, the only man she’d
ever saw that was willing to travel anywhere for the woman he loved. Lucky
Theresa. She had found her a gem, a true prince in every since of the word.
Honest, Loyal, and Caring. What woman wouldn’t want a man like that, with
good look’s included. Charity sighed. Theresa was one lucky girl Men like
Chad were hard to find.
"We’re here." Bray suddenly said Pulling into a large drive.
Charity looked out the car window at the large two story house. "You
still live with your parents?" she questioned.
Bray laughed. "No. This is my house. My parent’s live up the road."
Charity looked at Bray her mouth falling open. "What kind of job do
you have?" She questioned.
"Oh, I’m a model." He smiled.
"A model?" Charity questioned.
Chad laughed." He’s being modest Char. He’s also a writer, a best seller
I do believe." Chad grinned.
"And a History major. I’ll be finishing school soon though." Bray added.
"Oh. " Charity whispered.
"What did you think I was some kind of boy bander?" He laughed as Charity’s
face turned red.
"Oh my gosh you did." Bray said holding his stomach as he laughed.
~*~*~*~*~
Theresa lead Mrs. Hayes to the door. "Thank you so much for coming over
today." She smiled.
"Oh I so enjoyed our little talk dear. " The woman replied.
"Yes so did I."
"You remind me so much of my sister at you’re age. You’re a dreamer
I can see that in you, and so was she." Mrs. Hayes smiled.
"Being a dreamer gets you in trouble though." Theresa frowned.
"Oh, my dear you can’t stop dreaming. " The woman informed Theresa.
"It’s a part of what makes you, who you are."
"But I don’t like who I am." Theresa sighed. "I think I’ve lived my
whole life with blinders on. Seeing things the way I wanted to see them,
not how they really are."
"Well life isn’t easy, but that’s no reason to stop dreaming." The
woman said then smiled. "Or loving."
"I see what you’re saying Mrs. Hayes , I really do. I just need time."
Theresa explained.
"Theresa dear, time is fine, but as long as you are running, you’re
never going figure things out. Time will just keep going, and you’ll be
stuck in the same spot. You say this young man is a good person, I suggest
you give him another try. Talk to him Theresa. "
"But I’ve been hurt so bad in the past." Theresa frowned. "I just don’t
think I can handle it again."
"Was this guy the one that hurt you?" Mrs. Hayes asked.
"Well, no. " Theresa said looking at the lady, she had to give it to
her, she was a very smart woman.
"Then don’t judge him on what other’s have done. It’s not fair to him.
Or you."
"Thank You. You’ve gave me a lot to think about." Theresa sighed.
"I must be going now. I’ll see you soon dear."
"Yes ma’am" Theresa said as the woman left.
Walking into her kitchen to fix tea Theresa sighed, looking over at
a picture of Chad. "No Chad, you’re nothing like Ethan or Julian. Nothing
at all. "
~*~*~*~
Charity looked up at Bray pulling herself back together she crossed
her arms. "If you’re a model, why have I never saw you in anything before?"
She questioned arching her eyebrow, a smirk on her face.
Bray shook his head. "Well if I was standing here in just my boxers
and a cowboy hat, I bet you’d remember me." He grinned. "Of course I looked
a bit rugged in those shots."
Charity felt her mouth fall open again, "You’re the guy in those ads?"
"Um Yeah. That would be me."
"You’re a underwear model?" She said trying to shut her mouth.
"Well no, not now, I’ve moved on from that, I’m doing other things
now. Where I can wear more clothes." He laughed.
Charity faked a small laugh. "Yeah."
"Well we better get inside. So you two can put your things your rooms."
Bray said walking ahead of Chad and Charity.
Chad looked down at Charity and smiled. "You doing OK now?"
"I still don’t like him. " She huffed.
Then gave Chad a big smile. "I’d take you over him any day." She teased
with a wink.
Chad let out a sigh. The new Charity was showing her face. And she
was actually kinda cute. He thought as they headed into the large house.
