Theresa stood in a complete daze as the news had been dropped. This was it. She had lost everything. First Ethan, and now the Crane name, money and power. Her eyes lifted to Ivy who was smiling triumphantly. A glass of wine in her hand. That chestier cat smile spread across her face as she starred at her with nothing but hate, but delight at seeing Theresa brought to her knees.

Shaking her head Theresa denied it. “No.” She whimpered. “It can be true. It can’t be.”

Ivy smirked as she wheeled closer to Theresa. “Oh but it is darling.” She stated. “And now, you have lost every thing. Every thing you held dear.”

Ethan, who had been in the room when the bomb was dropped on Theresa glared at Ivy. “Mother that’s enough.” He stated. “Can’t you see she’s hurting.”

Ivy shrugged. “Please Ethan,” She stated. “Theresa is an original survivor. She said it herself once didn’t you dear.”

Rebecca strutted over to where Ivy was with a glass in her hand. “Ivy’s right.” She stated smiling merrily. “Besides why should either of us take pity on her when all she has done the last year or so as torture us with her wanna be Mrs. Crane name.”

Luis angrily grabbed Rebecca by the arm and forced her to look at him. “Listen to me you vulture.” He stated. “Leave my sister alone. She’s hurting enough.”

Rebecca winced in pain some as she tried to squirm free from Luis’s grip. “Why you get your hands off me you barbarian!”

Theresa looked at the women hatefully but said nothing. Her eyes fell to the real object of her rage. The head tabloid reporter for that sleazy magazine Daily Private Lives. Mort Chandler. Angrily she stormed up to him and delivered a striking blow across his face. A gasp went around the room from the people attending the party.

“How dare you!” Theresa raged angrily. “How dare you come into my home with your filthy lies!”

Mort rubbed his throbbing chin some as he looked back at Theresa. “This is no lie little Ms. Wannabe.” He stated. “It’s the Gospel truth. We have proof in the marriage license.” He held up two copies of the marriage license. “These signatures were forged. You never married Julian Crane, it was a set up. Obviously some one intended for you to think you married Julian. Guess they wanted to build you up to bring you down.”

Nicholas Foxworthy Crane walked over to the tabloid reporter and took Theresa’s hand. “Who?” He said as more of a demand than a question. “Who would want to do this to Theresa.”

Mort shrugged. “As always my sources were wise about informing me. I got this information in my office one morning. It was clear some one broke in, the previous night because the glass was broken. I got there that morning and found this hot tip that led me to Bermuda where this weak justice of the peace cracked and told me that he was working under orders of an unknown source that was blackmailing him. He had to take two past signatures of Theresa and Juliana and a professional forger drew them up on the marriage license. Theresa and Julian were so damn drunk they were not even aware that they did not sign any thing.”

Julian who had been their cringed at the thought of being drunk with Theresa, all he could do now was thank God that she was no longer legally tied to him.

Theresa shook her head. “No, it can’t be!” She said tears brimming in her eyes.

“Well it is.” Mort said with a sly grin on his face. “You may as well learn to deal with it.”

Fox looked back to his father. “Have some one call security and have this scum thrown out of my sight.” He stated.

Ivy nodded her head. “Good idea.” She stated. “And while your at it, have them throw Theresa out too.”

Fox glared back at his mother. “Theresa is not going any where mother.” He stated. “She may not be Mrs. Julian Crane any more but she did have fathers baby, and she is entitled to certain things!”

Rebecca smirked. “Fine, Julian will send child support, now get her out of here.” She stated.

Ethan stepped forward again. “Well for once I agree with Fox.” He looked back at his mother. “Julian can’t throw Theresa out on to the street any more than he could you, Mother.”

“Oh he most certainly can and he will.” Ivy stated. “Theresa was never really married to Julian, I was and I was contesting a divorce!” She looked at Theresa and smirked. “Theresa doesn’t have a divorce to contest.”

Theresa glared at her hatefully, only seconds before Crane security walked in approaching Julian. “You rang sir?” He asked.

Julian nodded his head. “Good, it’s about time.” He stated. “Have this gossiping Tabloid reporter thrown off the grounds immediately.” He then looked to Ivy and Rebecca who were looking at him hopefully. He cleared his throat. “Despite what you may think I am not cruel, I will not have Theresa thrown off with him.” Both the faces of the woman fell. “But she will be out by sunrise.”

Ethan looked at Julian in shock. “What!” He said angrily.

Fox shook his head. “Father you can’t , it’s cruel.” He stated.

Julian rolled his eyes. “I guess you would know you wrote the book on the matter.” He stated. He received a hateful look from his son.

Ethan stepped forward. “Don’t worry Theresa.” He stated. “We won’t let Julian get away with this. We’ll take it all the way to the Mayor if we have to.”

Theresa placed her hands in her head sadly as tears spring to her eyes. Sheridan, who was standing besides her blind husband spoke up suddenly. “And in the mean time Theresa is welcome at the cabin with Antonio and I.” She stated.

Ethan smiled warmly at his ex aunt. “Thanks Sheridan that is really gracious of you.” He stated. “And I’ll stay with you guys too.”

Gwen’s entire face dropped some. “What?” She called out t o her husband. “Ethan, why would you want to stay at the cabin with Theresa?” She asked suspiciously.

Ethan sighed some. “Gwen it isn’t what you think.” He stated.

Theresa lifted her head and wiped at her eyes. “Ethan please,” She said softly. “It’s alright. You be with Gwen and your baby. Antonio and Sheridan can take care of me tonight.:

Antonio nodded his head. “That’s right we will.”

“So will I.” Fox offered smiling at Theresa. “The only reason I hung out around the mansion was because you stuck by me. I want to stick by you now.”

Ethan folded his arms over his chest as he eyes his brother with disdain. ‘I mean it Fox, I swore not to let you hurt Theresa, and I won’t.’ He thought to himself.

Luis walked over to his brother and Sheridan. “Hey,” He touched her arm and smiled some. “Thanks for doing this for Theresa. It was sweet of you.”

Sheridan nodded her head. “Of course.” She said with a sad smile playing on her lips. “Anything to take the wind out of Julian and Rebecca’s sails.”

Rebecca and Julian share a collective eye roll. Ivy downs her champagne and then looks at Theresa with a satisfied smirk. “Well dear I guess you had better start packing.” She stated. “Sunrise is only a few hours away.”

“Back off Ivy.” Pilar warned. “Leave my daughter alone.”

Ivy smiled. “Oh but she already is alone Pilar.” She stated. “No Ethan, no Crane name, no Crane money.”

“I never cared about The Crane name or money Ivy!” Theresa yelled angrily. “All I ever cared about was Ethan.”

“Oh and look at that you lost him too.” Ivy stated. “Well happy endings always did warm my heart.”

Sam, who had attended another one of the Crane parties stepped forward. “Ivy why don’t you leave her alone?” He asked. “She’s hurting enough.”

Fox smirked. “Yes Mother, listen to the object of your obsession and back the hell off.”

Ivy smile some desperately wanting to get in a few more jabs, but sighed heavily. “Yes, I guess that is enough isn’t it..” She said backing up.

Suddenly Theresa reached forward and caught Ivy’s chair. “Listen to me you unfeeling, heartless hag!” She sneered angrily. “I don’t need proof to know who did this. Who set it up so I would think I married Julian. I know that it had to be you or Rebecca. And since Rebecca isn’t smart enough or resourceful enough to pull some thing like this off, my money is on you, and I swear to God Ivy I will make you pay. I know it was you and I will not rest until I bring the biggest bitch in Harmony to her knees.”

Ivy only smirked. “Where were you tonight Theresa?” She asked. “That bitch was already brought down.”

Theresa shook her head in disgust. “Take all the jabs you want.” She stated. “But I swear to you I will have the last laugh. I swear.” Angrily, she pushed off the arms of the chair and ran swiftly out of the room.

Ivy rolled her eyes as she turned her chair and was on her way to exit the room, but as soon as she reached an empty hall, another pair of hands grabbed the chair. “Not so fast mommy dearest.” She looked up into the burning blue eyes of her son.

“Fox,” Ivy said with a heavy sigh. “What is it that you want?” She asked as innocently as she could muster.

Fox shook his head as he stood up straight. “Don’t play dumb with me mother.” He stated. “I am putting you on notice. I am going to back Theresa up and do what ever she needs for me to do to help her bring down the person who did this to her.”

Ivy shrugged some. “And what does that have to do with me?” She asked.

Fox smirked. “I know you did.” He stated. “I’ve seen you do worse.”

Ivy sighed. “This is becoming boring darling, will you please get out of my way.” She stated.

Fox narrowed his eyes at her hatefully. “I mean it mother.” He stated. “If I have to team up with Theresa to bring you down I.....”

“Oh Fox please who are you kidding?” Ivy asked suddenly.

Fox looked down at her confused. “Excuse me?” He asked. “You think I am joking.”

Ivy shook her head. “No, I don’t doubt that you would love to see your own mother in pain.” She stated. “You are just that twisted.”

“Oh I wonder where I get that from.” Fox asked sarcastically.

“Well I wouldn’t know, but I’ll tell you what I do know.” Ivy stated.

“And what’s that?” Fox asked.

Ivy leaned forward some. “I know that you did not come back to Harmony for more than unpaid gambling debts.” She stated.

Fox’s eyes clouded over some, and he quickly tensed in posture. “What?” He managed to ask.

Ivy smiled. “Please dear,” She stated. “As much as you hate me, I am still your mother, you are still my son and I know very well when you are in trouble....are running from some thing.”

Fox looked down at his mother shaking his head. “I don’t know what your talking about.” He stated trying to remain calm.

Ivy chuckled some. “Oh really?” She asked. “I have seen the ways your face takes on a distant look when any one mentions you and where you have been all this time, or why you never talk about it. You have been home for six months Fox.” She stated eyeing him with a snake like grin. “You never talk about why you quit school, you never give any hint of what happened.......what are you hiding dear besides those debts.”

“Nothing!” Fox snapped angrily. “Just back off alright.”

Ivy shrugged. “Well okay if that’s what you want.” She stated.

“Yes, that what I want.” Fox stated.

“But just remember some thing Fox.” Ivy stated before wheeling off. “One thing your dear friend Theresa said was true. I am very resourceful.” She rolled ahead some then stopped and looked at him from the corner of her eye. “Should you think of going against me for that little slut Theresa, remember that no secret stays buried.”

Fox looked back at his mother shocked. “Are you threatening me?” He asked angrily.

Ivy shook her head and smirked. “No dear that’s no threat.” She stated. “That’s a promise from mommy dearest.” And then she rolled off.

Fox watched his mother go, his eyes narrowed hatefully. “Damn that woman.” He said to himself. “And damn me if she ever finds out why I really came home.”
