Ellen's Journey

Ellen has just left the doctor's office and is on her way to see Monica Quartermaine. She is in her office for a short time and hurries out. Ellen drives to her place as fast as possible. She throws some clothes into three suitcases, packing all of her things that she can carry. Making a quick phone call, she takes time to breathe.



"Hello Mother, I'm leaving. No, you can't change my mind either. No, of course I didn't tell Matt! Mother, please don't say anything to him about this! If you love me, please just leave it alone. Just say nothing! Mother, this is my life and I know what I'm doing! Matt deserves a woman who's... Well he deserves more. I can't marry him, not now! Not like this! Mother, I'll call you later this evening when I get settled around 5:00 or so. I love you too!"



Ellen hangs up and leaves as quickly as she came. She heads to the airport, boarding a flight going to Los Angeles, CA. She has rented a nice beach house along the beach. She tries to reason with herself by saying that she has made the right decision, but inside she is torn apart!



"Matt, I had to do this! Please forgive me Matt. I did it for you. Don't hate me, please don't hate me!" Sadness over takes her and she falls on the bed and sobs uncontrollably.



Back in Port Charles, Matt is about to check his messages after signing off to go home for the day. There a letter from Ellen.



"My Dearest Matt, I have been forced by circumstances beyond my control to leave Port Charles. I want you to know that I love you with my whole heart and my heart is breaking as I write this letter to you. My love don't try and find me, just go on with your life and always remember how much I love you. You made me love again! I shall never forget you! Love, your angel, Ellen."



When Matt read the letter he crumpled it up and put it in his pocket.



"Ellen, this can't be happening! This is a bad dream!" He rushes out of the hospital.
